Matthias watched the myrmidon jumping around like a madman. Thankfully, the bandits weren't known for their intellegence, they hadn't sent anyone after the support, yet. He continued to lay down a cover fire, trying his hardest to avoid the Saceans. One shot got dangerously close to Jaffar, and Matthias silently cursed. It was hard, trying to shoot specfic targets.
While they had been fighting, the forest continued to blaze. The flames ate away at the greenary, egged on by a strong wind. Thankfully for the adventurers, the wind blowed the flames towards the bandit base. A few of the more astude bandits started noticing the growing flames. Cursing their luck, they began running back to the base. Soon, only a token force resisted the "good guys."
Matthias noted the bandits. With so few remaining, he stepped out of hiding, hoping to make some of them run his way. Unfortunately, a group of them were waiting, and surrounded him. They were too close for Matthias to properly shoot them, and he was not a physical match for them. Gulping, he prepared for the beating of a lifetime.
He dodged two swings, thanks to his light armor and good speed. Unfortunately, his dodge landed him right in front of another. He felt two axes bite equally into his shoulders, and cried (not screamed like a girl... I hate that description) in pain. He felt around, despererate for his vulnerary.

(I hate that description too, plus it is overused much >.>)
Flyssa jumped up, as she saw the flames sweep around the trees, curling around the one, she hid under.
'Close,' she murmured, watching the battle between the many bandits and Matthias, 'That has got to hurt.'
She opened the tome she held, ready to unleash the wrath that the book held. Suddenly, a bandit slammed his hand-axe at her hand, knocking the book to the ground.
'Geez!' Flyssa complained holding her injured hand, as the bandit lunged forwards with his axe, 'Why must I be so helping!' She said, trying to dodge the blow, but failing. The axe slashed (Couldn't think of a word) her other arm slightly.
Why did I give that man my vulnerary She thought, as she waited for the axe to pound her.

Matthias could just make out Flyssa through the bandits. Great, she would get in trouble right now. Well, he couldn't do anything to help himself, he might as well help her. Desperation seized hold of him, and he felt something deep stir within. The arrow spun into his hand, and flew out of the bow quicker than the eye could register. It sunk deep into the bandit's forehead, and he slumped onto the mage (I've got a Short Bow, gotta love the crit). He snapped back to attention in time to dodge two attacks. A third snagged his cloak, doing no damage to him. the fourth... got lucky, and the ax bit into Matthias's side. If this kept up, he was a dead man.

Jaffer looked up, he though he heard something. 'Must be the wi... No, pegasus knights! There here! Ye hear that you thugs! It's over!' The bandits now realizing their peril, started running back to their base.

'Thanks, but I could have taken them out myself!' She said to Matthias as sheran towards her tome. She picked it up slowly, opening its pages, checking to see if any were missing.
'Dumb winged horsies!' She muttered angrily, recalling the incident earlier, as she passed Matthias.

Matthias sighed in relief as the winged horses flew around him. A few of them gave him odd looks, no doubt worried that the archer might easily take them down. He tried to brush off some blood to uncover the Ostian sigal on his jerkin, but failed miserably. He quickly dug out his vulnerary and dumped some of the contents on his numerous wounds.
"The winged cavalry has arrived," he muttered, putting the healing stuff back. Between the pegasi (that's the actual plural) and the fire, the bandits had major problems. It would be a good idea to finish them off... if they could do it. He looked around, trying to locate a lord, to discuss the problems.

Only half an hour had passed since he left, but Matis was already back at the forest, with some cavalry. They were only 4 cavaliers, but atleast they'd be useful.
Spotting various Pegasus Knights flying on the sky, they went in that direction, spotting Matthias and Flyssa in the forest.
"Hey, I've brought some reinforcements !" Matis said. He was running ahead of the cavaliers, who were all on horses, defeating them in speed, getting to the mage and the archer first.
"What's our current condition ?" He asked Matthias.

Matthias looked at the lord, trying to remember exactly which one this was. He couldn't remember for the life of him...
"Well, we've actually got the bandits on the run. Between the pegasi, that nutso myrmidon, and the forest fire, they've got major problems," Matthias waved his hand towards the burning fire. "I'm not sure where Sain went. Kenshin's over there, talking with the other Sacean. Flyssa's running around, somewhere... Haven't seen Rath... Calis, this lord guy with a spear; he's around here somewhere."
Matthias blinked a few times, and breathed deeply. Glancing over at the cavaliers, he tried ot figure out the best course.
"We might be able to take the base now, but that Hargus guy did not look like the sort of person I'd want to fight..."

Kenshin proved not to be the talking type so Jaffer walked back to Matis and Matthias. 'Matis! When did you arrive, have you seen Rath?'

'This is kinda depressing... I can't believe the forest is burning down...' Flyssa said, running around with rocks, throwing them on the fire.
'Help me, useless!' Flyssa ran round slowly, dragging rocks behind her, 'This is soo not working...'
Flyssa sat down grimly, 'We are burning down a forest!'

"Jaffer, I got here only a second ago. I brought some reinforcements with me as soon as I could, but looks like they are gonna be sort of useless now. I haven't seen Rath around either, but he was with us when we all came to the base."
"Taking the base... I need to talk with the rest. Now, where the hell are Sain and Calis ?" Matis said to Kenshin. Everyone was now around him, and questioning each other where were Sain, Calis, Rath, and Flyssa.
"Kenshin, as soon as everyone comes back here, we will take the base, and if possible, defeat Hargus too.If not, atleast give him a wound or two."

'We can't wait to long, Hargus will retaliate soon. I know I heard Flyssa faintly, I will search the area.' With that he walked off.

"Good riddance," muttered Matthias under his breath. He glanced around, looking for signs of any of the others. Kenshin was around, though dazed by the recent battles. He thought he saw a lance user in the distance. Was that? Yeah, the crazy lord that attacked the castle. Cowlick or something like that. Muttering obscenities under his breath, Matthias trudged over to the lord.
"Hey, dum.. I mean... Lord Cowlick. The great and wonderful lord... Matis... wants to talk to you. Something about deciding what to do next..." Matthias waved vaguely in the direction of Matis. He knew Flyssa was okay, girl was too damn lucky to get killed. Rath on the other hand, that kid had Matthias worried...
He patiently waited for "Lord Cowlick" to respond.

It was then that Matthias realized something. That he was talking to a tree with an exceptionally pointy branch. Feeling a bit like an idiot, he grinned and rubbed the back of his head. He honestly couldn't remember the last time he got sleep, and the constant stress must be catching up to him. He hadn't been a warrior for too long, and had risked his life more times in the last hour than in the rest of his years combined. Sighing, he turned back to Matis.
"I think Lord Cowlick, Lord Sain, and Lord Kenshin went for reinforcements. It's just you, me, the crazy myrmidon," he pointed at Jaffar, then continued, "Flyssa, if you can convince her to do anything, like four cavaliers, and that squad of pegasi... Speaking of which, how the hell did we get a squad of pegasi?"
Matthias really needed to lay down and take a nap. Unfortunatley, it didn't look like that would happen any time soon...

Jaffer overheard Matthias remark about him. 'So you made an enemy, what were you expecting?' He said to himself. Then he saw Flyssa, trying to keep the forest from burning. 'What in the holy name of St. Elimene are you doing?'
