Dirk had traveled around the mountains and was approaching the Eastern side of Sacae. Kabold neighed as he chomped on grass. It would be a long and harsh journey across, and he knew that eventually he would have to stop, there.

The duo trotted through the endless waves of golden grass, ahead, there was the ruins of a camp. Dirk knew this place all too well. This was his tribe's camp, at least, what was left of it. As Kabold neared it, Dirk's mind was assaulted with memories o his tribe, and especially those of his brother, Dave. Unlike now, back two years ago, Dirk and Dave would ride through the fields of Sacae, hunting together. They were inseparable, like, chicken and pot-pie. Dirk shed a tear, he couldn't bear to pass through again, but Kabold kept its course.

Dirk's campfire blazed on a small patch of dirt in the middle of the ruins. It had turned nighttime, and he was around halfway through the plains. Suddenly, a shift in the grass occurred, someone was coming. Dirk quickly strung his bow and notched an arrow. It was a horse, slowly galloping, coming closer. "Who has come to the resting place of a clan that has disappeared?" said a voice that came from atop the horse. Dirk walked out and saw, someone familiar. "Dirk?!" "Dave?!" Their voices rang out at the same time, and echoed in the stillness. Dirk fainted immediately.

Dirk woke up, it was now entirely dark. a smoldering pile of ash lay where a fire had once been. Collecting his thoughts, he figured he must have seen a ghost, as there was no one there other than Kabold. He groaned, and went back to sleep, dreaming of plains and his brother.

Dirk set out again in the morning. He tried to review what had happened last night, but his thoughts were too foggy. He decided that it was just a dream, and pressed on.

A faint blur appeared on the horizon. That was Bulgar, and it would take one and a half days to get there. Dirk happened to look behind him, seeing a lone figure, slowly walking towards him. Dirk hadn't noticed it before, and thought that it was another going to Bulgar.
Wait, Bulgar is in the middle of nowhere, going through Bern would make a lot more sense, even if you were coming from Etruria. He must be following me. Dirk thought. He quickened his pace, and eventually stopped to make camp, as it was already dark out.

Dirk awoke in the middle of the night. The grass rustled nearby. He quickly notched his bow and sent it flying. "Urgh..." A large man fell over in pain nearby. "You, you're that man at the pub." Bill didn't say anything and collapsed from exhaustion. Dirk slowly carried him closer towards the fire and fell asleep again.

Dirk awoke, it was morning, Bill was gone, and so was Dirk's survival gear which had everything he needed to survive on the plains. A shadow was off in the distance, it fell over from exhaustion. Guessing it was Bill, he quickly made his way to Kabold to get over there.

Dirk picked up his supplies and made a camp. He tried to get Bill to eat, but he couldn't, so he sat down.
Bill woke up, seeing Dirk, jumped to his feet and sat down from pain. They stared at each other, until, "I don't like Saceans." "Well, maybe they don't like you." Bill smirked. "I was always told that Saceans were evil, I can see you're not. My name is Bill Ryzer, I always try to act tough, but it's hard to be tough when you're soft and chewy on the inside. After our battle, I decided that I would fight only to protect, and I'm sorry." Bill reached into his pack and pulled out a wooden flute. His melody rang through the fields. "Thank you for listening to my story, here, keep the flute, I'm heading for Ilia." "I will go with you, being alone is not something good for the soul." Dirk held out his hand. "We're in this together." Bill sniffled and shook his hand.
They set out after a good breakfast, and changed their direction north.

OOC: This seemed fitting, at least for now.
IC: Aerious and his companions had completed a long journey, but at last they had reached the plains of Sacae. Aerious was more used to seeing them from an aerial prespective, but there was something beautiful about being on level with the sea of grass.
He turned towards Matthias. "Well, you have any ideas as to where we should start looking for these friends of yours?"

"No clue!" Matthias admitted, grinning. "But I'd guess that Bulgar's a good place to start. It's a long walk from here, but it's generally where people gather in Sacae, isn't it?" He looked to the other two for confirmation.
OoC: Hang out on the western border of Sacae for a while, we're gonna try to meet up with Matis's group.

"I suppose you are right." Said Aerious. He really had no idea about the location of anything other then the capital cities, and even then it was more of a rough guess. "But tell me, why are you going to stop these people? I mean, I guessed that your friend doesn't have a charitable bone in his body, but you don't seem to be in it for self gain."

"Ya know how I mentioned fightin' the legendary heroes? Well, I personally don't wanna fight them all by my lonesome, if ya get my drift. Besides, I've got friends in these other groups, an' I wanna make sure they're doin' alright. My group lost some men..." Matthias drifted off, remembering Sergey. "An' that probably means the others have too. There was even a kid in one group..."

"But you misunderstand me.." Aerious spoke. "I mean why did you decide to do this? Is it some personal vendetta, do you have something to prove? Or is it just because of your duty to your people?

"Me? I don't know actually. When I started I wanted ta get rid of the bandits that wrecked my best friend's life. We both joined the military after her parents died..." Matthias stared south, towards his home. Which, he suddenly remembered, he hadn't been to in quite some time. "I joined up with them originally for the money... Now, hell, I don't know for certain why I'm still taggin' along. I guess someone's gotta do the right thing, ya know?" He smiled at Aerious. "Enough talkin', let's start walkin'!" with that, the ranger led his merry band deeper into Sacae.
