"Looks like we've just crossed into Ilia," said Wylie, looking back at the pass through the mountains behind them. "We only need to keep following this river north until it opens out into the ocean. That's where we'll then make our way over the Etrurian border."
His horse, Alia, had fared well over the rocky, uneven terrain in the mountain pass, and was still trotting along happily, though tired. He noticed a sign up ahead. It read:
ELLIS - 3 HOURS
"Ellis sounds like a town," Wylie commented. "It'll be good to get a meal and rest the horses."

"And not only that, we'll get real beds to sleep on," Natalie said as she patted Flare's neck. Sure the journey had been interesting, learning about her new companions and their exploits, and there were funny times - like the time she had gotten a hold of poison ivy and slipped it into Crowley's bedroll - but it would be nice to get out of the wilderness. "Finally," she groaned, slightly muffled as she slumped down on her horse's neck.

Tobias didn't show any reaction, but was secretly relieved. The journey had been horrible, with nonstop talking and the girl trying to mess around with them all, and he was begining to think he would have preferred to stay with Zeiss and get captured.
But now they were going into a town and he would finally be able to get away from them and sleep in a different room. It was the first time he actually looked forward to staying at an inn.

Upon arriving in Ellis, the group realised it was not much more than a shanty-town. What passed for an inn was barely held together, with ramshackle beams of wood leaning against it from all angles to support it. Broken windows were patched with old hats and shirts, and bits of rubble were strewn around the place.
They walked into the inn. There were two bearded men playing cards in the corner, and a bartender rubbing a rag over the bar. "What can I do fer ye?" He asked.
"Just a drink and a room," Wylie replied, putting some coins down on the bar.

Tobias instinctually glanced around as he walked in. The few people who were there didn't seem to be any threat so he didn't bother inspecting them closely. Instead he walked up to the counter and asked for just a room.

(OoC: Just letting you guys know, I'm still around.)
Crowley smiled at Natalie and made a mental note to get her for that poison ivy. It was pretty funny though. He had laughed even though the itch drove him nuts.
"I'd like to order some beers." Crowley said to the bartender.
"How many?" The man grunted.
"As many as possible." And he grinned.

Wylie grinned also, because they were obviously going to have a good night, but he stopped himself from getting too caught up. They were still wanted by a country full of bounty hunters, and even here might not be safe.
He took up his beer, took a swig and immediatedly regretted his choice. It must have been sitting in the keg for months untouched, because it was definately old and watered. Still, he thought. Should still do the same job.

Natalie merely shook her head at the guys' antics. 'Must they get drunk at every chance possible?' she thought. The thief went to the counter and got herself a room, before walking over to the two drinking. Seeing Wiley's reaction, she tentatively sipped her beer. Natalie set it down calmly, got up, and walked slowly through the inn and out the back. Once there, she proceeded to empty her stomach of the foul liquid. After she finished that, she walked back to their table and said, "I'll see you guys tomorrow," before heading up to her room. Upon entering, she lay down on the slightly lumpy and uneven mattress, immediately falling into a light sleep.

Sitting on his chair, Crowley noticed the dust around the place. Hell, even his chair was dusty. Someone really disliked cleaning in here. It all had a very ancient look. Ah well, at least there was beer. Crowley had gotten immune to taste, his body just wanted food and alcohol.
"Well, Wylie, what now? How are we going to do this? I mean, we need to find Zeiss and all. Any thoughts, Tobias?"

Elina walked into the inn, tired and hungry. After her graduation from training, she had immediately been told to join a mercenary group to further her experience. She had flown nearly all the way around Ilia but with no luck. She had stopped in this backwater town for supplies but was surprised when she found well armed people. She brushed back her hair, and went over to the two people drinking.
"Hey, you wouldn't happen to be looking for an extra soldier, would you?" She said, her voice shaky.
SHe really didn't know "how" to join a mercenary group, she she assumed you just ask.

(OoC: Thats cool. But guys, spell Wylie correctly! Come on! I don't write Crowlie or Nattalie)
Wylie turned to the newcomer. "Well," he considered. "It would be handy having an aerial view of Etruria before entering. But then again, where we're going, we don't want to be attracting any undue attention."
He then turned back to Crow and Tobias, "What do you guys think?"
(Sorry for the rushed and frankly plain post. I'm on a uni break and in a hurry.)

Tobias looked over the new girl. She seemed about his age and didn't look like much, but he had heard that pegasus knights were very skilled fighters. "Well, she definately won't slow us down and we can always use help. Still, we're not exactly getting paid for this so she doesn't really have a reason to. For all we know she'll turn us in as soon as we cross the border." He turned to the girl in question. "I am sorry if my suspicions are unfounded, but I hope you understand."

"I'm with Tobie, here. I say we ditch here. No offence, you're pretty and all that, but I'm REALLY not looking forward to getting a sword in my back. Oh, right, didn't we mention? We're the most looked after people in the entire continent. Also, if you decide to try to frame us, we always get out. We're too smart." He grinned. He was a talker, after all.
He looked to Wylie and shrugged. If his friend really wanted to go through with this, he'll probably let the girl join them. But for now, he didn't trust anyone. Only Wylie, really. Tobias could be a schemer as well, even though he freed them from that jail. And Natalie was kind of the same. Ultimately, Crowley trusted only one person:
Himself.

Elina frowned at their obvious reluctance to take her. Then she took a few steps back when one of them said that they were the most wanted group in the continent. She glanced at the door and wondered her chances of escaping and alerting the authorities before one of them killed her. Trying to join them would be much safer.
"Do you think that Ilia is full of scoundrels? By my honor as a pegasus knight I will not betray my contract once I begin it. Also, you must know the advantages of having a flyer on your team. Finally, you've told me about how your little group is wanted, it wouldn't be smart to let me go free... would it?" She said, as confidently as she could manage.
She really needed money, enough to join up with outlaws. She hoped she had sounded convincing.
"I can pull my own weight..."

"Well, actually, I DO think that Illia is full of scoundrels. I know, I was once part of them." He took a nice, heartwarming gulp of his pint. Then he pointed at himself.
"Now, do I look like a liar?" Before the others could start laughing, or commenting, he nodded.
"I am. But not in this; I don't trust anyone. Well, a few people. Some of them are sitting in this room. Let's make a deal here. You betray us, I kill you. Got that?" He frowned at her and tried to look intimidating. By the way she was slowly moving towards the door, it must be working.
Then, he started laughing.
"Ha! Now that that is out of the way, come here, take a drink and tell us your story." He smiled at her and pointed at the chair close to them. He then looked at Tobias and Wylie.
"You guys are okay with this, aight?"
