"Nah I'm good," Wylie replied. "Thanks for jumping in there before. It means a lot to me that you'd do that. You too, Nat."
It was true, he was glad he had friends who'd do that for him, and with this thought he grew a little less dark. He still held a strong dislike of Tobias, but he was glad for the situation because it made a few things clear. It showed him who he could, and couldn't trust in a bad situation.

Elina laughed shyly as she remembered when she had rushed into that fight. She had no idea where she had gotten the courage to stand up to the sowrd fighter, maybe it meant she really liked the people she had joined. They seemed really nice for outlaws. She stroked her pegasus' back as she led her mount down the path.
"So, where are we headed? Just so I can prepare myself. Beleive it or not, I've never been out of Ilia."

"Well, they told you about being wanted and all that, right?" Seeing Elina's nod, Natalie continued. "Well, they want to head to Etruria, the heart of their enemy, and 'dismiss' such 'rumors,' if you get my drift," the thief said wryly. "And they'd be a complete mess without us, as you can see." She chuckled at her little joke as she patted Flare's neck. She whispered conspiratorially, "They could use a woman's touch, right?"

Elina laughed as she heard Natalie say women's touch. Males weren't really considered important in Ilia, it was usually the females that earned money and fought so she was used to that attitude. She was sure that they could be really good friends. Then she realised that they were headed in the exact direction that she, in their situation, would be running away from.
"So we're headed into the same place that we'll all be killed if we get caught. Sounds fun, I just hope you guys are good at getting into places unnoticed because the entire army of Ertruria could prove a problem." Elina said.
She knew that her pegasus had a natural resistance to magic that protected her too. She hoped that it could be useful in the battles to come, after all, she heard that Ertruria was mainly a magic country.

"Army of Etruria? Pfft," Wylie said with a wave of his hand. "No match for us."
"But seriously," he continued. "I think the real problem is the civilians. There's enough money for us that even normal, average people can become our enemies if they see us. It happened to us recently in Ostia. We fought off some mercenaries but then the townspeople surrounded us and captured us afterwards. Actually, that's when Nat joined us."

Tobias sighed mentally, but forced himself to stay quiet. You forgot to mention that I wasn't there at the time he thought. I'm the one who could get in unnoticed. Then again, I'm also the one who would kill somebody once we got there and start a riot... but riots are fun too. He grinned and began daydreaming about that riot. Especially the part where he got to kill Wylie and Crowley without anyone noticing. That was the best part.

Elina paused in thought. She knew she could never hurt a civilian, but what if her contract demanded it. She had joined Wylie and Crowley to protect them, even from the townspeople. She sighed, it was better to cross that bridge when they got to it. All of a sudden, her stomach started to grumble. She realised she hadn't gotten any food because of the bandits.
"Uhh, are we almost near a city or anything? I think I'm.... my pegasus is hungry...." She lied as she tried to cover up her weakness.
She hoped it'd work. Her trainers back at home would tell her that mercenary groups never pay whiny mercenaries. She would have to make up for this in battle.

"We just left one." Crowley remarked.
"You, I mean, your horsie, should've eaten there." It sounded harsher than he intended but Tobias' weird behaviour had strucken him. It made him quite grim. He felt like teaching the man a lesson, but right now they needed Tobias. They needed Zeiss. He was the only one that could get them back in touch with the main group. He had information as well. Crowley sighed. Another dangerous situation seemed to be unfolding, once again.
"Sorry, eh, Elina, right? Sorry. Just, just suck on a pebble or whatever. I mean, your horse. Give it a pebble. Sorry." He sighed. And got out a piece of bread and some wine.
"Catch." Then he went silent again, eyeing Tobias and looking at Wylie. It felt as if he had failed to protect his friend. It won't happen again. Next time Tobias'll pay. In blood.

They continued to follow the river north for several hours, until the sun dipped below the horizon. "We should probably stop here for the night," Wylie said, dismounting.
He tied Alia to a nearby tree and took some fire-starting tools from his pack. After a short period of gathering twigs and leaves, he soon had a happy fire crackling away. With nothing else needing urgent attention, he decided he might try and learn a bit more about their new companion, Elina. Wandering over, he asked her, "So where abouts in Ilia did you grow up, Elina?" He looked around. "Anywhere close to here?"

Crowley looked at Wylie and smiled. Always the kind man. He guessed that he should be trying to be nice as well. Not to Tobias, though. That kid sucked. Rotten.
He went over to Natalie and sat next to her. He was quiet for a while, not sure what to say. Than he got a few bottles out of his backpack and showed them.
"Booze?" He grinned.

Natalie had tied Flare next to Alia, then sat down near the fire. As Wylie moved to talk to Elina, the thief watched Crowley come over to her.
When he just sat there not saying anything, Natalie wondered what was going on with him. She opened her mouth to say something, but he pulled out a few bottles, and offered her his booze. Instead, she said, "Don't mind if I do," and grabbed one.
After taking a swig, she turned to Crowley and asked, "So, what's on your mind?"

Crowley smiled. Typical woman. He read her. He shook his head; smiling.
"Nothing. I'm just interested in your wereabouts. I mean; I know almost nothing about you. So... tell me." He grinned; once again, before taking another swig from his bottle. Both of them had a bottle now. He didn't want to get too drunk tonight; thought. He didn't trust Tobias too much and slitting a throat while everybody was asleep wasn't TOO hard.
(OOC: I'm actually really drunk while writing this. It took a long time.)

Elina smiled as she caught the food. She gave some to her horse and ate the rest for herself. Feeling fully satisfied, she continued the ride without a sound. Finally, they had stopped, and while she made sure her horse was all set Wylie had set up a fire. She went over to sit beside it, warming her hands. Ilia was a cold country. She smiled as he started to talk to her.
"No, I was born into a small backwater village in the northern part of Ilia. It was cut off from a lot, and I had to rely on more than a few people to make it to the capital for my training. I've never really been around this part of Ilia, though having a pegasus makes it easier to travel. Where were you born?" She asked when she was done talking about herself.
She was glad everyone seemed nice, well mostly everyone. When she had imagined mercenaries or outlaws they seemed like old grouchy men. Tobias was the only one that she was sure could be an outlaw. She would not be sleeping well tonight.

"I grew up in a little town called Alia on the northern-most tip of Etruria," Wylie replied. "Same story, really. It was a little isolated from the city but I liked that. Haven't been there for ages."
This forced Wylie to think about the last few years. He knew so many people there. His parents were there, but he'd just forgotten about everyone and kept travelling. "Maybe we could visit after all this."
He huddled a bit closer to the fire. "Geez it's cold tonight," he said, rubbing his arms.

Tobias was, of course, well away from the rest of the group. Specifically he was leaning against the tree farthest from everybody else. And they're all having pleasent conversations he thought without emotion. I guess I made them hate me just in time to get out of being forced to tell about my past, good.
