Old sayings of pirates often contained one of two lessons, live by honor or live by the pillaging. The way you choose would decide how people look to you. He did not really have a choice to begin with, it was either living with honor, or being thrown into the water. Whenever he thought back about it, he was grateful. Now was not the time to think back about it though.
He entered the small shop by the sea, it was about to fall apart, it had been like that for years, but it never happened. According to the owner, an old retired sailor, it was strong enough to hold an attack of a wyrm, and still stand straight. He never believed these stories, but that man was something special.
As he entered the man looked up and started to laugh. "Ah, if it isn't young Bialdire! I have not seen you in ages... Did your father leave you behind again? I thought he left a few days ago!" The pirate laughed and sat down at the counter, where a few seats where placed for visitors, he rarely sold anything lately. "Ah, I came alone, I'll never get stronger than my ole man if I hang around with him all day!" The man smiled and looked at him. "You think you can become that in the first place?" His sharp tone asked him.
"We'll only know it if I can get three rowboats, and supplies to last two weeks. If I am not mistaken, you owe me your life, and you where the person who learned me that a pirate always should upheld their oaths." The man laughed again. "At least you are as fast as a learner as your father... Hmm, you might even be able to do it. Where do you want them, it might take some time till I get them ready." The pirate laughed again and walked away. "The usual place."
