Saru parried an axe and slashed its owner's throat before quickly slipping past another pirate's guard to impale him, only to have said pirate trip and fall backwards avoiding Saru's thrust. 'Damn it. We have to get rid of the pirate's here so that Matis doesn't have to worry about protecting the archers and can go help Alexia,' he thought as he jumped back to avoid being trapped by two pirates.

Raen stumbled backwards as a pirate rushed at him; luckily, Saru managed to step in and slice his throat before he got any closer. Taking stock of the situation Raen knew he had to act quickly.
Lodging his foot into some of the random patches of grass among the sand Raen began to fit an arrow and pull back on the string. 'I can't kill him in one hit, and I don't want to hurt Alexia' he thought as he watched the horse and its rider swerve dangerously close to the beserker.
Following Dirk's instructions once again he focused on the beserker's midsection and aimed high, the shot went to the right and wedged itself between a rib. "yes!" he yelled.
'Definately not a killing point, but the beserker would definately be a bit weaker' he thought

O.o.c. No forest? Crap, that makes my plan difficult.
B.i.c.Roscanza watched the pirates attack. He thought although he had to capture or kill everyone, he needed them to kill that berserker.
Roscanza called all his pirates and hid behind some bushes. He decided he would help with killing those pirates. Him and the other 9 pirates let their hand axes loose.
As soon as he threw it he quickly yelled 'again'! He had to make it seem there was more people then there really were. The hand axes that hit cut down a few pirates so he ordered the others to keep doing it but not for much longer. Some of Durban's pirates were heading to the bush to kill whoever threw their handaxes at them.
Roscanza leaped out of the bush and killed one of (Durbans) pirates by slicing his neck. Another pirate tried to hit him but nicked his arm.
"Aw come on " he hopped back in slight pain. As Roscanza's pirates fought he headed to a bush near Matis, the leader of the group, while the other pirates were distracted. Rosconza knew he had to get rid of him or the other swordmaster before this fight was over if he wished to complete his mission. "I'll just wait for the perfect time to strike." he muttered.

If Durban cared that there was an arrow in his chest, he didn't show it. He was instead interested in the mounted wench charging him. His prey didn't normally come to him, it beat chasing it down. With an animalistic roar he jumped straight at Alexia, his axe held high over his head as he jumped.

"Watch out!" Matis shouted, seeing the Berserker jump high in the air, axe at the ready.
Those bushes...did they...move? Can't concentrate on that now!
Tripping a pirate over, Matis quickly sheathed the Mani Katti and reached for a Steel Lance with his other hand, impaling the pirate. Reaching with his now empty right hand the second Steel Lance, he then stabbed another pirate, but making a small cut on his own right side in the process.

Alexia jerked Night Flight's reins, moving the horse just out of range of the obvious axe swing. She brought her own sword up, hoping to catch the leaping berserker by surprise.
A few hand axes clanged on her armor, and one managed to nick her exposed cheek. She didn't pay them any attention, though. She was more concerned with the rampaging berserker.

'Those pirates are getting in the way!' Raen thought angrily, 'I don't know if I should focus on Durban or them... damn.'
Thinking quickly he fitted an arrow and aimed once again at durban, but he pulled back to quickly and the arrow missed by a few inches.
Raen then fit one more arrow, casting a wary eye on the attack pirates before firing again, this time the arrow went low and struck the Beserker in the knee cap.
'Hah! maybe he'll feel this one.'

As Saru dodged an axe thrown at him he watched Raen's shot hit the berserker in the knee. 'Good shot Rae!' he thought. He then turned back to the pirate in front of him and shifted out of the way of the slash, but not fast enough to escape without a cut on his left arm. Saru then swung his sword at the pirate, and, seeing the pirate move his axe to block, shifted his strike mid swing and decapitated the pirate. 'Damn it, how many pirates are there?' he thought.
As Saru deflected another axe strike, he noticed one pirate trying to sneak up on Matis, who had sheathed his sword to use his lances, along with several other pirates readying their hand axes in some more bushes. "Matis!" he yelled. "Behind you in the bushes!"

Saru's warning was very welcome. But the pirate had already made his move, and Matis had a nice deep cut on his leg now.
Kicking the pirate aside and stabbing a few others while they tried to bring him down, he made his way to where Alexia and Durban were fighting, hoping that Dirk, Saru and Raen would manage to hold their ground.

The mounted wench dodged his axe!
"Gwahaha! Good sport!" He roared, swinging his axe sideways recklessly. The arrows from Raen hit into his flesh, but he didn't even notice them. Indeed they seemed to bounce off of his huge muscles. The sideways axe swing was at nobody in particular, but then he brought it down like a hammer straight towards Alexia.

"I'm not letting you!" he said, stopping between the berserker and paladin, springing both lances in an X-shape as a sort of defense. The attack was blocked, but only barely enough for it not to cut Matis' head in half.
Damn...so, this is what the legends meant by 'Durban and his legendary Armads'
He simply hoped he could keep up against the bulky warrior. At least long enough for the rest to deal some serious damage to him.

Roscanza noticed one of Durban's pirates hide in the same bush with him thinking he was Durban's pirate too. Roscanza sliced the pirate off guard and killed him. Then one of his pirate members came to report.
"The pirates are out-numbered us but they got confused and don't know which pirate is which so they went back to attacking the others."
"Good, we dealt with almost all the pirate reinforcements, those other 3 should be able to deal with the remaining. Call all our pirates to surround that female swordmaster. (o.o.c Katara) We need to capture her to sell or to use her life as a bargaining tool after that berserker who I overheard his name is Durban is defeated."
He noticed the leader of that group was wounded and he needed him to live a bit longer for killing Durban so he threw his hand axe at a pirate who was just about to attack Matis.
O.O.C. What is Katara doing at the moment.

OoC: no clue... and Durban ignored my attack. v.v
Alexia took advantage of Matis's block, whirling her horse around behind the berserker. This put a skilled fighter on either side of Durban. She swung her sword again, aiming for the berserker's back.

The sword barely cut into the Beserker's flesh, and he only turned his head, not moving his axe from where it was wedge in Matis's spears.
"Is that all you got girly? Hah, then let the men fight first!" He roared and pressed his might into Matis's spears. He was going to push him back and bury his Armads right between his eyes!

OoC: Durban is god-modding! XD Also, just before anyone starts complaining, nothing stops Matis from using two lances to fight. But we've seen how he got himself cut that way. Any more of that and he's done for. And blocking the Armads with a sword is like asking for your head to be pounded over and over again with a hammer.
Durban's axe was now holding less than an inch above his head, and Matis' feet were now almost buried on the sand. Had the terrain been a bit more solid, and he'd be dead at this moment. His feet would get stuck if he didn't move fast, though.
I have to get him off me...but how?
As he pressed harder and harder to free himself, so did Durban. The only way to get out of this weapon-lock was for someone to get Durban off balance. But if Alexia couldn't do a thing... Things certainly didn't look good.
