Looking at his mug like a lost lover Raen exclaimed, "And I'd thought I'd lost you!" promptly slamming down the entire mug and becoming more jolly in doing so. I may not be the strongest guy in the world, but I can sure hold my liquor better than them he chuckled watching their pained, bug-eyed expressions as they tried to stomach the drink. He then returned to his focus and put back another glass. Grinning wickedly Raen announced, "If he's paying, you can just leave the bottle down here for the time being." 'That'll teach him to offer free drinks to me' he laughed silently to himself.

"Mind you, if you guys die, I'm keeping your stuff" he said opening one of his eyes and looking at the group as he gulped down the entire mug. The liquor burned inside him, but he liked the strong taste. He was just hoping this whole trip wouldn't make him an alcoholic after it was all over.
It seemed like it was going to be a long night, and offering to pay for all the drinks might had not have been such a good idea, after all.

Dirk chugged a whole bottle down without any trouble. "I haven't had one of these in a while, normally I can drink two or three at a time."

"Ah, shaddup you," he groused jokingly at Raen and Dirk. Just because he hadn't had anything that strong in a while and wasn't used to it didn't mean he would let them make a fool of him. He then snatched one of the bottles in front of Dirk and drained it. He then looked at them with watering eyes being the only sign of his discomfort as he adjusted to the rum's potency. "I'll show you two. I'll out drink you both!" he exclaimed as he signaled the bartender to place a full bottle in front of each of them. "Now, let's get started!"

I'm going to end up broke for sure...I just hope we have enough money to make it back to Santaruz. Once there, I could always borrow some from Yeo for a while. Matis sighed.
"So, where are you three from? I've known Dirk for some time, but we never really had a long chat, if at all" he said. The clothing almost gave them out, though. Sacaen through their teeth. Thing is, he was bored, and it was the only way he could think of to start a conversation with the(still sober) members of the team.

"I'm Dirk Karavalenge, one of the only two survivors of the Sutolah tribe, sister of the Kutolah tribe. That's all you need to know." Dirk gulped another bottle without flinching.

Alexia spread out on a bench of the church, enjoying the feel of the cool wood against her back. It felt good to have put in a hard day's work, and to just relax. One hand fell across her chest, shifting her shirt. Glancing down, she noticed the scars she had gathered from her fights. Healing magic could only do so much.
Sighing, she tugged the shirt down. It wasn't as if she was looking for suitors anyway. Her other hand fell down, touching the cool stone floor. She let her eyes close and her mind wander...

Setting the drink aside for a moment Raen paused, "We hail from the Manase tribe. Nomadic, of course, but we stayed mostly around the northwest plains of Sacae if we could help it. Of course that didn't do much when we got raided, hance why Saru still isn't quite himself, but there's still time for that. Otherwise, we're two of a group of ten or so remain survivers." Then growing disinterested, Raen returned to the rum.

"I see..." Matis said, thoughtful. "Kenshin and I come from the Wind Tiger tribe, named after a certain event regarding bandits and, of course, a tiger. We, along with a now long lost friend, started this journey to get revenge on the bandits that raided our tribe, now almost a year and half ago" he said.
Has it been this long, really? Time flies by so fast...
"But...I'm not in it for revenge anymore. I just want to stop the bandits, so they can no longer do their filthy deeds...so no one has to go through what we did" he added, and drank yet another mug of rum.

"Yeah. People shouldn't hafta worry about getting attacked wherever they go," Saru said as he put down his bottle. He then sighed. "But...there just aren't enough people to deal with all the world's troubles. I mean, you guys, and now me and Rae, we're workin' to get rid a' the heroes who are now the bad guys and the guy that brought them back. But, people are still gonna get hurt, bandits will still be there. As much as we don't wan' it ta be that way, it's...it's like the natural order of things, or somethin'."
He then picked up his bottle and drained it, trying to shake himself out of the somber mood he put himself in. "Ah well...we'll do what we can, and hope for the rest, right?" Saru suddenly looked down, noticing the mound of empty bottles in front of himself, Raen, and Dirk. "Damn, thas' a lot a' bottles," he said chuckling...right before he passed out, his head hitting the bar with a slight thud, small snore's escaping from him.

"... Lightweight. I'll carry him to an inn." Dirk drank another bottle of rum and dragged Saru by his leg across town.

"Thanks, Dirk" Matis said before the nomad left carrying Saru.
"You guys are gonna get me broke. More now that I need to get myself another sword" he said, as he took the remains of the Mani Katti out of it's sheath and looked at them rather depressed. "Oh well. It'll be just a keepsake from now on, I guess"

Getting up from his stool, swaying a tad: Raen walked over to Matis, " Thanks for the drinks Mate, I suppose it's about time we're off for the night." He then patted Matis on the shoulder and shambled out of the bar - Not without two bottles of rum hidden in his pants, of course.
Arriving at the church, Raen stuck the rum into his pack and chose what he imagined was a nice piece of floor; and then promptly sprawled on the floor and passed out in a shape not found in the alphabet.

Matis chuckled, reluctantly paid the drinks and left the bar behind Raen. He was broke, yet again.
Hope they don't mind me sleeping at the church. He sighed. He found Alexia lying on a bench and saw Raen lying on the floor in one of the corners.
Now, let's not wake them up...He slowly moved towards the corner opposite to Raen and sat against one of the walls.
Wonder how everyone else is doing

Even though they were trying to be quiet, the new arrivals disturbed Alexia's contemplations. She opened her eyes and sat up. Time had gone quickly while she was wrapped in thought, and she could barely see Matis moving over to a corner.
"I take it things went alright at the tavern?" she asked, smiling. She shifted to look straight on at Matis. The Sacean didn't exactly look comfortable in his position...
