Lilith had found a nice spot away from most everyone in the fortress, yet not too far to be in danger of being singled out in case of an attack. She had laid her cloak down on the ground so she wouldn't get her skirt dirty, and she placed her tome next to her. She didn't need to use her tome for the moment. She folded her legs underneath her and placed her hands palm-down on her knees. She drew in breath slow and long, letting her worries and fears seep out of her like water from a cracked basin.
She focused on breathing, and she focused on keeping the power inside of her under control. Many people more experienced than she had fallen into nothing from the use of Elder Magic. She did not plan on sharing their fate, so she did as she was trained; she meditated every day. A small smiled played across her face as she closed her eyes and entered this blissful, yet empty, state.

Wyatt turns to the mage. "I'm sorry, I don't think I caught your name. Just who are you all? I mean, your appearance was timely, you probably saved our lives."
Wyatt starts a fire in the forge pit and begins to prep the tools for work.

"I'm Aaron. I'm traveling now, hoping to find knowledge or tricks that will improve my understanding of the way magic works." Aaron replied. "I've heard that there were relics brought up out of the Nabata desert dating from the time of The Scouring. If I could examine those it could prove useful, but I think that if I was to visit them now I'd not have enough training to tell anything about them.... Perhaps Sir Denzel knows somthing of them. If I remember correctly, there are supposed to be some relics in Laus"
Turning to the others, Aaron spied the older knight off in a corner. He looked like he was trying to doze off.
He must've had some reason to be up here in the mountains. Maybe he's like me and was just hiking the lands.

Malachi opened his eye's, blinked a few times, and looked over at the red-clad boy. He starred at him, examining him, then got up, grabbed his armor, and started towards him. "My armor could use a bit a patchin' up," he said to the red-clad boy as he strung his took his cape of of his armor and tossed it around his neck. Malachi set his armor down with a thunk next to the anvil in the room and looked back over at the red-clad boy. "I don't believe I ever got your name. My name is Malachi Zsoldos, knight of Ostia," Malachi said in his usual calm and casual voice. "A blacksmith are ya? How long have you been doing such work," he said with a slight smirk on his face.

'Well I haven't been in service long so I don't really know anything about that...' Denzel said his cheeks getting red, 'But I am to return to the Castle of Laus anyway. You're welcome to accompany me.' He then added trying to save face.

A full knight of Ostia?! Here?!
"Wow...a Knight of Ostia all the way out here? That's...Oh! Sorry, my name is Wyatt, Sir Zsoldos. I've been smithing for most of my life, it's the family trade. I've only recently started doing it on my own, but I've worked on a Knight's equipment before!" He eagerly examined his armor, inspecting the cracks, cuts and dents. It didn't have much major damage, a few holes here and there, but it had a lot of scratches and scrapes. The actual holes would have to wait until he could get it to a real forge, he wouldn't have the time or materials for it at this makeshift one.
"It'd be an honor to work on this, I'll get right on it!" He said, detaching the chest cover piece from the armor so he could carry it over to the fire.

Yaen shook his head. "If I hadn't left you to fend for yourself, you wouldn't have needed saving in the first place. I'm sorry for being so reckless." he replied, offering Wein a short bow.
The swordsman let out a less than quiet chuckle as Wyatt heaved the armor over to the forge. "Such enthusiasm! I never knew how exciting patching up armor was!" he joked good naturedly. Still grinning, he looked at Malachi. "Since we're all getting introduced, my names Yaen. I'm nothing fancy like everyone else here. Just a drifter way in over his head." He explained, chuckling once again.

Selk didn't seem to pay any mind to all the chatter that was going on in the room. When Wyatt asked he calmly gathered up his armor and toted it over to Wyatt, laying it down in a pile near him. He only nodded with a smile to Wyatt as he did this and went over to the wall farthest from the group. He slid down the wall, leaning back against it until he reached the floor where he would sit. He rested his elbows on his knees, which were bent up in front of him. He stared at the floor in between his legs, delving deep into his mind as he recreated the events of the day.
Is this really what it's like? To put your life on the line for a living? It seems counter-productive, fighting to stay alive, that is. If not for Aaron and Sir Zsoldos I wouldn't have made it. I don't know what I was thinking, taking on all of those bandits alone like that.... Or was I even thinking at all? Father always did talk about instinct on the battlefield. Maybe that's what he was talking about. In some situations, you don't have to think. You're body just acts...

Malachi smiled at the boy,"Please, you don't have to call me by my last name." Malachi never did like being called by his last name, it brought up old memories. Malachi gave a small laugh,"You sure do like working on armor, don't ya?," he said, still smiling. Malachi gave a sigh, he room was starting to become stuffy for him now that he was around more people. He watched as a man dressed in a Sacaen robe came up to them and commented Wyatt's enthusiasm and introduced himself to Malachi. "Hello Yaen, nice to meet you," he examined Yaen, he didn't seem like anyone special; a normal, traveling Sacaen.
Malachi looked over at the girl sitting oddly over by a wall. He looked at her with a confusing face and leaned towards Yaen, asking quietly," Yaen, who might that be over there?" He said pointing to the girl."A mage of sorts?" Malachi wasn't very familiar with magic, he had never been to interested in it or been around that much, be he was somewhat curious of it.

Wyatt had already started working on the chest plate, and with a smile ignored Yaen's comment. When Malachi spoke though, he listened.
"Yes Sir. I've always been smiting Sir Zs-, I mean Sir Malachi. I mean, I might not be good on the battlefield, but this armor, these weapons, it keeps you all alive and well. By doing this, I'm doing my part to aid the warriors all I can, and that's something only I can do. As much as people charge at the enemy, and fight with their lives, I have to put that same effort and heart into my work, to keep the arms and armor in top condition for them to do their jobs."
He heated the chest piece and lowered it to the makeshift anvil, as a serious of rings reverberated in the room as he struck it with his hammer to remove the dents.

"Hmm... Well I'm sure you've been busy with training and other duties."Aaron responded to the young knight. "I think I'll take you up on your and accompany you on your way back though."
Aaron took off his cloak and laid it on the floor, before slinging his messenger bag down and placing it at one end of his cloak. The end result was a vague approximation of a bedroll.
As the others mingled, Aaron began searching for the pantry. He still hadn't gotten over the rush of battle that had come over his body, but his appetite was beginning to return.
"I don't know about the rest of you, but I'm gonna want to eat something before I hit the sack." Aaron called out to the room. He was beginning to relax a little, and so, his words were losing some of there stiffness and formality.
Looking through the food storage, Aaron found several loaves of bread and some fruit of various kinds. He didn't find any meat, but assumed that the bandits hunted for fresh game when they wished. While the bread and fruit wasn't the freshest supply, it was preserved well enough to be edible, and even still somewhat tasty.
Aaron loaded some of the food into bowls and carried it out. "I found the kitchen." He said as he set the food on the tables, indicating the hallway he had just returned from. Picking out a cluster of good sized black grapes and then tearing off a chunk of bread, Aaron proceeded over to his bed and sat down. As he ate, he examined every detail of what had transpired that day. It was his way of improving himself.
He'd been traveling... a good portion of the day. Just kind of drifting along in "the good ol' days". He had been remembering his last trip there when he had heard a noise.
As he got closer, he saw a man being attacked by bandits. Aaron had just leapt in and let fly with a fireball. This was what Aaron was thinking about. He didn't think he regretted using lethal force, as disconcerting as that was. It was that he had jumped in without considering the consequences. At the time Aaron hadn't known about the companions that Selk Mar had. He hadn't stopped to consider that, as far as he knew, the bandits outnumbered him quite a bit. Aaron's self preservation mechanism had failed to kick in. If there hadn't been other allies then the mage would be very bad shape right now. Probably dead...
Aaron didn't regret any choices. Especially since it had all worked out fine in the end, but at some point he would need to discuss all this with someone. That would help him cap off his thoughts and get past

Wein smiled toothlessly and took the bow. "It's fine, really..." he said. He looked around as everyone did their own thing. Apparently, their motley little crew had picked up 2 more people since the fight. There was a man with green hair in a cloak, and another man who had been wearing heavy armor, probably a knight of some sort. Wein leaned back. He wasn't really in the mood to strike up a conversation, so he thought he'd just stay quiet and rest unless somebody needed him.
