Fargo had taken Rayl's hand, and got up on the horse, with a bit more elegance. Still, his legs were a bit wobbly. Sure, he knew that the horse was more than capable of holding them both. That didn't stop Fargo from worrying about getting bucked off. It was a little fear he kept to himself. To comfort himself, he listened to the rest of the group.
Now, he knew everyone's name. Perhaps that would be good in the future. But Fargo had no idea what the future had in store for him. The thought vanished as he heard Abel talking. He didn't mean to eavesdrop, but he thought it odd how the green haired swordsman kept acting... different with Garnet. Still, it wasn't his business, so Fargo kept his thoughts to himself.

As the others engaged in their conversations and The group had set off towards their destination once more. Elibe easily could have kept pace with the horse in which Garnet rode, but Rayl decided to hang back as to not leave behind those without mounts. After some time of riding with Abel seemed to interrogate their mercenary companion, Rayl turned around in the saddle slightly, just enough to be able to face Fargo,
"It'll pass. The first fight always gives one Battle Fatigue, even if they do very little." the young man had seemed to be somber after the conflict, much like how Rayl was nowadays, so he was making an effort to put him in better spirits," Not everyone is purely evil, you know. In war, you could very well be fighting a man with a wife and kids back home...Don't think too much of it though, lest it get to you, and eventually are eventually lost in depression." A blow against himself, before looking back to Zakon, to change the subject as well as...actually, that was his only reason.
"Everyone has been sharing information about themselves, yet we have yet to learn much of you, my friend...what do you do for a living, or would you rather not say?"

Garnet turned in the saddle and gave a quick inspection to the sling Abel was using. It looked like a clever bit of workmanship. Durable enough to hold plenty of weight, yet still compact enough enough to fold into a small package and be tucked into a pocket.
When Abel mentioned his father, Garnet was once again reminded of his lost family. The home that was no more. With an effort of will, he put aside his past and answered the swordsman.
"Well, the knight said something about an inn up ahead. I'm going to travel with him for now."Slowing the horse to an easier speed for the walkers, he continued. "That looks like a handy piece of workmanship. You should be glad to have something like that, just back there I had to scrounge a rag from some some clothes. Not the cleanest bandage to have." Garnet paused for a moment.
"As to my family, I never knew my parents. I was raised by my Uncle." Garnet made sure that he dwelled only on the glad memories as he spoke. "My Uncle ,Bryant, taught me many things about fighting and survival, as well as the right reasons to fight. He was the Captain of the town guard I was in. We fought to shelter those who depended on us." Garnet said with a smile on his face. Bryant had been a man of honor.
Garnet asked Abel then, "How about you? Where do you come from?"
When they first met, Garnet thought that Abel might be acting a little...differently around him than around the others, but the merc couldn't put his finger on what it was exactly. It seemed to be fading a little now though, and besides, that wasn't the kind of thing that Garnet wanted to focus on.

"I live in Arphen. It's pretty big, lots of mercenaries." Abel thought back to that day he decided to run off into the mountains, those mercs laughing at him... Abel shook the thought from his head only to be replaced by the thought of his sister. She couldn't really be alive, could she? he thought. "I had a sister once..."Abel stopped himself. This is crazy!Robin shows up out of nowhere, and suddenly my sister becomes a topic of discussion after all these years... "So your going to an inn?Man that would be nice I've been sleeping on the ground for weeks."

'I was afraid of this. Still at this point, it would probably be best to elaborate a little.' "I have no occupation, unfortunately," Zakon started, "I travel because I want to see th-e world, and partly because I'm looking for something." his voice softened, "but that has no bearing on any of your concerns."

Fargo looked up at the knight. His voice was assuring, calm, and understanding. He smiled at Rayl, and replied, "Thanks, I guess you're right. I just, well, yeah..." Fargo trailed off, becoming quiet once more. He couldn't shake the image from his mind. The man laying on the ground, deceased. It made the young archer sick.
Now, he was listening to their other companion. Zakon seemed like someone Fargo could be friends with. If they actually had a conversation. Thing was, Fargo had no idea what to talk about. And even if he did have something to say, it was still hard to get the words out, at the moment. He still had that nauseating feeling.

"Isn't that the truth?" Garnet replied to Abel."It's been a while since I slept in a proper bed, not since...well, it's been a few months."
They continued down the road a little ways before Garnet raised his voice to address the group as a whole.
"Those bandits back there must've been either awful daring, or really stupid." Garnet said, putting the emphases on daring, and stupid." Attacking within range of the city like that. Are there often bandit raids, Sir Rayl?"

"That is quite alright, my good friend, I do not wish to pry upon anything you wish not to tell us." a reassuring smile, before Garnet began talking to him again,"Well, my job is to train new recruits..." he began, as if avoiding the question," However, in recent times, I've been having to take more and more recruits with me to slow the bandit threats...and I've been having carry back more and more greenhorns who thought they were ready for combat service...we've been lucky though, no fatalities but...some came home minus a limb, you know..." he believed this was sufficient answer, before focusing back on the road...
...They'd been traveling for a time, and already the inn was in view, albeit distant...good thing too, for it was getting dark...he hadn't been to this particular in for awhile since the management changed...maybe he could find some interesting stories here for his book?

Well he seems trustworthy, maybe he could help me with my dilemma. "So, where to plan to do now Sir Rayl?I mean besides going to this inn." Abel had stopped to count his coins, hoping he had enough to rent a room or at least get some food. The bag on Abel's back clanked and he tried to pretend he didn't hear.It was then that Abel noticed the archer. He wondered if he was the kid Robin was looking for.

Rayl heard the faint clicking of coins as Abel began to count his moment, and so the knight cleared his throat before stating the plan in which he had concocted," Well, first of all, I will pay for your rooms. We are still in Pherae, and we knights often get good benefits when staying in inns during longer trips. Since you are all with me I'm sure this applies to you as well." to be honest, Rayl was not one to take advantage of his status, but even with the payment he received from the marquess, he wouldn't be able to rent them all a room without being with empty pockets... and the Knight's Code says one must always help their comrades...
" The next morning we shall set out, pass through Santaruz and Caelin, and should reach Laus by nighttime tommorow lest we come across any more complications." by this point, they had arrived at the inn, as he dismounted and led Elibe to the stables at the side and into an empty stall," Don't worry you old nag you, I'll be right back." he petted the mighty horse's nose, before heading over and inside, where he began the payment of the rooms for his comrades, oddly not getting himself a room...
"You are paying for your own drinks and meals, by the way." a smirk here before taking a stool, much to the confusion of the people in the inn, and went right on back into the stable and took a seat...

The group was at the inn early than he expected. Fargo, seeing the building, felt a bit better. That feeling expanded when he heard that Rayl would take care of the cost for rooms. Fargo then got off Elibe, just after the knight. He didn't actually get off, as he fell off. This time, he promply landed on his behind. Still, he was embarassed, running his hand through his hair. Fargo jumped up off the ground, saying in a quiet voice, "Yeah, I'm good. I'm good."
He went inside, feeling the warmth in the building. It was nice, being that it was getting colder outside. Fargo found himself a table, not knowing where the others were heading off to, and took a seat. He was a bit hungry, and there was a bit of money in Fargo's pocket. All he had to do was think of what to order. Perhaps I'll get a full meal, nothing to fancy, though. Or maybe just something green, like a salad. Oh, perhaps I'll have a nice loaf of bread and some roasted meat to go with it...

Garnet arrived at the inn and dismounted. As the others went about their own business, he began to tend to his own steed, rubbing Fable down and untacking him. The red-headed swordsman made sure to always look after his adopted horse well.
As he started heading for the inn, He saw Rayl approaching ,presumably to finish tending Elibe.
"Sir Rayl," Garnet said, stopping for a moment. "I managed to survive that bloody fray earlier because you and others arrived to help." Garnet paused his face registering embarrassment, "I was taught to always check on your comrades. I'm afraid I've failed at that. Are you okay, from this afternoon?"

Abel followed Fargo into the inn. He sat across from him in very old looking chair. He put his bag down and it clanked again.Stupid armor.I was lucky the first time, but eventually someones going to ask.I'd rather not show of my armor seems how its probably older than all of us combine. Abel started thinking about what he was going to eat.I've had lots of deer lately, maybe I'll go for a real steak. It's nice of Sir Rayl to pay for our rooms.
"So, where are you from?"he asked Fargo,"I think I got some extra money if you come short."

" No need to thank me, it is my duty as a Knight of Pherae." Elibe rested it's head upon Rayl's shoulder from it's stall, and he laid a hand upon it's noise gently," There is no need to worry about me on the battlefield should the event come that we must fight again. I have seen far worse than bandits..." he then looked to the side, taking trip down memory lane.
"Much, much worse..." it came out as a bare whisper, and it was obvious that unlike some of the other heroes of the past, he hadn't moved on, those days haunting his every waking moment, and tormented what should be pleasant dreams. However, he then snapped out of his little depressed moment, and flashed a smile," Now go inside and get something proper to eat. From the looks of it, you probably haven't in a while."

Fargo's thoughts shattered as they were disturbed by a familiar voice. He jumped in his seat as he heard Abel talking to him. Fargo then relaxed in his seat, and said to the myrmidon, "Thanks, but don't worry 'bout me, because, like, I've got enough money." A small chuckle came from the young archer as he looked up at Abel. He then started again, still a bit shaken,"Err, well, I come from a village around here. Well, not around here, but back where we all met. Today was my first time traveling out of town, and it's, like, hard, you know?" Fargo was hoping that Abel knew how he felt. The travels were especially rough on, mostly because it was the first time away from home, he got in a battle, and watched a man die. Not your typical day, at least, to the young man.
Fargo looked around at the room. There were a few tables, four seats to each. He saw a few people, most were staring at the group of travelers (including Fargo and Abel). He also saw a bar, with a man sitting down, having a drink. Fargo figured it was some alcoholic liquid, or 'beer.' Either way, he didn't want any. The smell of it made the archer a foul taste in his mouth.
He was suddenly wondering where Zakon was, the other younger fellow. To Fargo, he seemed to be pretty close in age, maybe younger. Either way, Fargo was looking out to make friends. If they were to be traveling together, they would have to get along, right?
