Aaron Winsett's alt
Name: Garnet (like the rock, GAR-NETT)
Class: Mercenary> Hero
Hair: Dark Red
Eyes: Blue
Age: 22
Appearance/Personality:
Wears black tunic under red, damaged armor. Also wears dark green pants with armored knees and brown leather boots. Has a full goatee(or whatever those things are called). A bitter streak shows through some but pretty pleasant normally.
Born in: Lycia, Araphen raised in small village south of Delfia Etruria.
Story: Born to a skilled, healer couple in Araphen, Garnet was to be raised as a blessing to others, a skilled healer someday his parents thought. Unfortunately, a bitter fate was visited upon him. As an infant his parents left him at an orphanage in Araphen. It was only supposed to be temporary. They had work to do you see.
Nearby, three days travel from Araphen, a small village had been quarantined to prevent the spread of a terrible disease. The village healer had been one of the first to die, and so this brave pair went off to save the village. When they arrived they too caught the sickness. Never-the-less they persevered.
Finally, on the last night Garnet's father would take breath in this world, after he had watched the disease ravage his body and take away his beloved wife...It was done. He had the cure and told the villagers how to make it. The disease though had torn him apart, and he died that same eve.
A letter was sent to the man's brother, Bryant, in Etruria. When he received it he told his captain and was immediately given leave to go and deal with his family business. The letter requested that Bryant raise Garnet as his own son.
Eighteen years passed. Bryant inherited the captaincy of the militia and Garnet was inducted into their army. Garnet's life was a good one. He had been given a second chance to heal. To heal by fighting for his home and friends. But not even this was to last.
As the years passed, the Prophets influence grew until finally a fanatical mob attacked his village claiming that the people of Garnet's home were heretics. The gates were broken, people scattered and killed, houses burned. Garnet watched while his Uncle Bryant was overpowered by the mob, trying to protect the families of his home. There were too many for such a small town to resist.
Garnet himself was knocked down a rock face into a valley. The many impacts left his armor heavily damaged. The crowd saw him hit the ground and left him for dead.
Miraculously, Garnet got up and limped away.
This is the New Dawn the Prophet is trying to bring in? If so, I want none of it. I'll tear it down around his ears.
Having set such a goal he went off quietly to prepare himself to fight.
He had his armor repaired to full strength but not repainted. He kept the marks on his armor to remind him of his goal...and to keep count of many blows he owed the Prophet and his lackeys.
Extra: I would like to use sword and buckler (small shield) if I could. This would be like Yaen duel wielding swords. It would convey slight bonus to defense as opposed to offence once enough practice had been attained. Could also be used to hit things, or cook things in. ;D After all, heroes have to learn how to use shields sometime.
