"Oh St. Elimine, they must think I'm pitiful," Kynlis despaired to herself, as she tried to stop crying. When she heard Richter offer to take into his service, her mood lifted slighty.
Wiping her face with her sleeve, she composed herself as best she could. She looked up at Richter and said, "T-that's fine with me. And I promise, I can be useful, I won't be dead weight." If these people were going to give her a chance, then she would give them her all.

Jya tried not to seem horrified or fidgety, but this wasn't a sight she was used to. The smell of dead bodies didn't mix well in sunny places and truthfully she felt like throwing up. Yet, Valorian seemed to be able to handle the situation quite well, so she'll have to deal with it till farther notice. Somewhat tense, but never making herself more noticeable than need be, she waited for the talk to end and did an awfully strange thing for her. She waved hello to the guy shyly and tried to greet him. Nothing came out of course, but it was worth a try.
"Umm, so I'm just hired help, don't mind me..."

Valorian placed his hand on Jya's shoulder. "Just relax, you look weary. Perhaps we should find a place to rest, it has been quite a journey." He turned to the Monk. "Do you have a place where myself and the lady can recover for a moment? It has been a tiring few days."
The monk gave a short bow. "Of course your grace. Please come to the chapel, we have several rooms for the Monk's you can use as you need."
Without waiting for a response from Jya, Valorian placed his staff on his back and wrapped his arm around her shoulders, guiding her towards the chapel. They walked a bit across the camp before he noticed a small group discussing off to the side, but was prepared to ignore them until the Monk spoke up.
"Good morning Region Officer Abend." The monk quipped quickly, offering a short bow to the man.

"Well then, looks like that's settled," said Richter. He flexed his hand. His arm was still numb from the wounds and hadn't made a full recovery. If the other soldiers were in the kind of shape he was, it would be best if Yurau gave them a day or two more of rest before they headed out. Injured soldiers didn't do well on the march, nor did they perform well in battle.
A monk walked up and greeted Richter. He nodded to the monk. "Good morning, brother," he said politely, "I hope you're doing well." Richter looked over the monk's shoulder to see an older girl and a boy behind him. Had battlefields become some sort of a playground? "And who might you two be?" he asked inquisitively.

Great, just great. He'd attracted the attention of the regional officer. "Forgive me sir, I am an Emissary from Erturia, they believe our soldiers are in need of healing, both for their bodies and for their morale. I'd come here to do just that, but the plains are dangerous these days, so I had to procure a little assistance. I fear my companion has over exerted herself in her duty though, if you will allow me a moment to help her to a room I will be more then happy to discuss what I can do for your men."
As he said this, he lightly smiled. "St. Elimine brings the light of peace and solace to her weary children."

"Just another monk," thought Richter to himself. "Does the High Inquisitor even have any soldiers, or is he just going to keep sending us monks?" Richter took another look at the black haired girl. She did look exhausted. "Sure, go right ahead. There's probably an empty tent she can lay down in. There's no more room in the church."

Morgoth hadn't been seen by the "Region Officer" yet. But when he heard talk that sounded like rebelion, he decided he should be part of it. "Excuse me, but I would like to join you if if I may," he said in his ruff voice. To answer any future questions about how he fought, Morgoth held his tome in his hand.I hope I startled them he thought as he remembered the girl crying earlier.

Kynlis started when another person appeared and spoke to the Region officer - no, her new commander. She glanced over at the new person and spotted the tome he held thrust out. Living out of the way as she did, she knew of magic, but had never met those who wielded it, except for the priest who had introduced her to the faith of St. Elimine. This person didn't look like he wielded light magic, so she asked, "What kind of magic do you use?"

"Thanks sir," Jya managed to choke out, trying to get a better grasp at the whole situation. There had definitely been casualties on both sides, but that doesn't really matter now. She knew as well as anyone in the world that the past cannot be undone. Ignoring her fatigue, she tried to walk off to where there might be tents or such, careful to keep alert. They weren't these people's allies, she just have to act like it till Valorian's plan can be enacted. Just a little longer.

Clair had been startled to hear of her commander speak of a coup, but she had also been startled when she learned that he worked directly for the Herald. The magnitude of what he was saying struck her, but she would stick with him. He had earned her loyalty.
There seemed to be much activity going on. An Emmisary from Etruria had just arrived...
The black haired man from the command tent came up and spoke. She recognized the book he held from her Pegasus training in Illia. "A shaman." She muttered under her breath. Wasn't he with Yurau though?

Richter turned to address the dark haired man. "I was wondering when you were going to speak up. It's morning daylight and you thought you could trail me unnoticed?" he shrugged. "I noticed you follow me out of the tent, and you've just been standing there. Didn't anyone tell you that if you're going to eavesdrop on someone, it's best to do it subtly?"
Richter stroked his beard. The more the merrier he supposed. This man had just been hired by Yurau, though, and already wanted in with him. While he could use him, Richter would have to keep him close enough to watch, yet out of the loop. "Sure, tag along if you want," said Richter nonchalantly, "but first, it would be polite to introduce yourself."

Valorian slipped away with Jya, whispering to her.
"Things seem to be in disarray here, that's good for us. Let's get to a more secluded area where we can discuss this." And he followed her to one of the few unused tents. When he was certain it was empty, he looked to her and smiled.
"Well, we made it this far. Now the hard part...what I need to ask from you..."
His voice dropped in volume. "The command center should be in one of the tents, probably belonging to the leader here. If you can gather any information from that, like a letter or manifest or something, we can alter it to confuse the army, hopefully slowing them down. I'll distract that man we met before, the Regional Officer, and you should be able to sneak out from here all right. I'll make sure nobody comes looking for you." He glanced over his shoulder. "Are you sure your ok with this? It could be really dangerous..."

Jya felt a whole lot better resting after the walk there, she listened and thought long and hard about the plan. It was simple, very simple, but that meant strictly to NOT make any mistakes. If she were to get caught, than that would mean death for her. As for for Valorian, well she could always says that she used to him. Her thoughts had organized itself, before finding that she really could do it. Five years of training had done its worst on her.
"I can do it, but the problem would be finding the right tent, I fear that I might end up stumbling over a soldier, but...yes I'm ok with it," she smiled positively and optimistically.

"My name is Morgoth and I am shaman." he said. I don't like the way the man is wary of me, I'll have be on my guard. he thought as he studied Richter.Turning to the weak archer, he said,"I use dark magic." I hope I can get my cloak back, I hate this uniform almost as much as I love killing.

OOC: If by thick you mean cliche, then yes.
IC: Valorian looked to Jya with a smile. "I'd imagine the tent would have some kind of marker on it, larger then the rest, guard outside or something to set it apart. And don't you worry, just because I won't be next to you doesn't mean I'll just abandon you. I'm not letting anyone else die because of me..."
He spared her one more smile as he placed his hand on the front flap. "Good luck." And then he slipped outside, waving down a guard.
"Ah, excuse me. My companion is resting inside, she is in dire need of rest, could you please ask your soldiers to avoid disturbing her?"
The solider looked the boy up and down, his age was a strike against him, but his robes said he was a holy man, and it Erturia there was no higher rank. "Very well your eminence. I'll inform the guards by these tents."
Valorian smiled at the guard. "Thank you. And remember, you do St. Elimine's work, allow that to keep your faith strong."
Psh, faith in a false prophet who made his life on the death of an impostor.
