(Location: Southern tip of Caledonia)
He let go and shot the arrow. It landed perfectly as the target fell to the floor. That was the first kill of the day, and Panthera was proud. The quail he had shot would fetch a good feast for the night after preparing it properly.
Panthera spent a great deal of time hunting with his bow. He did not like to leave for battle, as killing men was not of particular interest to him. If the times called for it, he would not hesitate. However, if it was not necessary, he preferred to stay out of it. Panthera's biggest obligation was to himself and his survival. Lust for blood would not help his survival, nor would it do much for him in general. Hunting Quail and Swine, now that was something that paid off in the end. After all, Knox had placed him in charge of preparing the feast for tonight.
Knox was the leader of the Pirate group that Panthera was currently with. Panthera did not care what kind of a man Knox was. As long as Panthera was physically able to follow his orders, he would serve him. There was much pillaging done by Knox and his crew when they left on expeditions. Panthera was even a part of some. It didn't bother him though. If that's how he made his gold, then Panthera's money was also a result of pillaging and killing. But that's just how survival goes. If a task is given to you, you get it done to survive.
The Isles were currently in the midst of chaos. In addition to plundering merchant vessels and raiding coastal towns, the pirates had begun to fight amongst each other on the Isles themselves. Knox's group was located at the very tip of Caledonia, but there hadn't been any attacks recently on the camp. This was the reason for the feast tonight. Knox's crew had all but eliminated the source of the invasions and were now ready to take to the offensive. Many of the pirates rejoiced and sang to salute their leader. Not Panthera though. Although he had much respect for Knox, all Panthera was concerned about was getting his task done and preparing the Quail.
