Abel replied with a grunt as he sliced a mans legs causing him to fall forward onto the ground. Abel twisted his sword so that it was aiming down and stabbed the man. He then threw his sword in the air, caught it up-right and beheaded the last Bandit attacking them. "Alright, lets make our way to the village, it's easier to defend from." The offense we had is gone, he thought. Their numbers are greater. But sometimes the best offense is a good defense.
OoC:Yay, over used saying. Isn't there a word for that? Hmmm.... I learned it last year, but English is my worst subject so I don't remember the word.

Theian finishes off a bandit as he sees Evayl and Abel beginning to move back. "Moving back? Not a bad idea... but first..." He walks over to Francis, Cefia, and Eric. "Are we ready? We should start moving back a bit."

It took Eric a while to register what Theian had said; he had been focused on avoiding the flailing limbs and slashing weapons, throwing a spell whenever he had an opening. Now that he was focused on the battlefield itself, he realized a horrible fact: they were still depressingly outnumbered. Where do they all come from? There can't be that many people with nothing else to do! As frustrating as it was, there were obviously enough of them to overcome the village's defenders.
Pulling back sounded like the best idea, but how long would it last?
"I don't think we have a choice," Eric said loudly enough to reach over the clamor. "Try to pull back, everyone!" The few villagers that were fighting heard him, and they had enough sense to avoid stating the reason. If the bandits knew they were afraid, their morale could be pushed to a height that would make their victory inevitable. Eric warily retreated deeper into the village, hoping that the evacuation had gone well.
Whoosh! Whoosh!
In the time it took Eric to whirl around, he had already ruled out anything the bandits could do to make a sound like that. So what...?
Nobody on the battlefield could miss Eric's next words as he bellowed, "EVERYONE, GET DOWN!"

Aeros hadn't expected to be forced to make an entrance; he had expected to drop Manuel off, talk to a few people, maybe stay the night, and then set off again. There would be nothing to tie him here for long.
While there still wasn't anything to keep him from leaving, a full bandit invasion had been far from his mind. But that was what he received. Or, rather, the remainders of a bandit invasion, now frozen to a halt as every soul in his sight turned to stare, some in fear, some in wonder, many with an expression that said, "I'm supposed to do something when this happens. Something about screaming and running, perhaps?" Nobody moved; nobody said anything.
It's a bit crowded here, though, Aeros thought wryly. We need some room for Manuel's reunion...I know what will do the trick. With that, Aeros stretched back his head, faced the direction the majority of the bandits had frozen in--along with a few poor innocents that appeared to be helping defend the village--and let out his own bellow, ripping the silence into a million gibbering pieces.
The effect set in when he was done; every bandit dropped his (or her, as the occasional case was) weapon and ran at a full sprint in every direction, most retaining enough sense to hurtle out into the forest.
In seconds, none of the offenders remained but two that had remained back-to-back, one with a sword, one with an axe.
"Off my back," Aeros said to his passengers, Manuel being the first to react. It was the sight of Manuel that caused a few of the villagers to relax, although many still eyed Aeros suspiciously.
The bandits were gone, but the party could easily just be starting.
((Gentlemen, ladies, you may start gibbering now. >:} I left Keith there under the assumption that his instinct would be to stay with Francis...))

Aeros was wrong. Francis took off running in a random direction, Keith right at his heels, before they both went and ducked behind one of the fences throughout the village, before peeking their heads out from over the top, and you couldn't blame them. Both being from a backwater place themselves, how were they supposed to react otherwise? Just go: hey there mr dragon how are you?
No. Not at all. Seeing as how the dragon one: had passengers. and two: wasn't rampaging and setting everything on FIRE, the pair climbed over the fence, and returned to the others of the group, shaking from what just happened," Hey Keith, don't stand so close next time you wet yourself." Francis grumbled, before coming to a stop near his blue haired and red haired buddies.

Garnet caught a glimpse of Abel and Evayl across the field, near Eragon. The red headed merc was standing a short distance away from the gates of the town, trying to decide the best course of action when...
Fwoosh...Fwoosh...
A sound like a muffled drum was washing through the air. Garnet looked up, trying to see the source of the sound. "Whatis that? It's got to be enormous. Could it be that mage?" Garnet looked over at the brown haired boy who he'd seen slinging fireballs around. The mage, however, seemed just as confused as Garnet.
"EVERYONE, GET DOWN!"
Garnet readied himself for anything and gripped his sword and buckler tighter. That was when he saw a sight that made his jaw gape open in amazement
A silver wyvern... No it was far to large for a wyvern. It could only be a dragon of myth. He felt his legs wobble a bit as the giant creature swept down and landed with a rough thud. He took a step or two back (still gaping) as it looked around, trying to figure out what he could do next. As it bellowed, he felt his buckler drop from his limp grip, but managed to regrip his sword before he dropped it.
He just stood there, watching as the legendary monster rested, and as the bandits fled like mad. Then he saw... PEOPLE!? On top of the dragon? They started to climb off. Garnet didn't know what he could do if the creature turned out to be hostile, so he just watched, trying to regain his speech.
He was joined a moment later by Francis, with Theian nearby.
"....Tha... that's... one big... lizard" he said softly. He was really to amazed and too busy looking at the dragon to manage any more.

Theian starts moving back when he hears Eric, followed by the sound of wings. "Now that could only mean a wyvern army or.... HOLY **** ON A SANDWICH! WHAT IS THAT?! IS IT A DRAGON?!" He looks over to find Garnet. "Is it a dragon?! That is... insane! WHO IS THAT GUY!? Theian is now giving off an endless stream of words as he notices passengers on the dragon's back.

Evayl heard Eric's words and immediately grabbed Abel with a strength that one would not expect a singer to have. She situated him behind her and grabbed Mely's reigns. "You said we should head for the village. Hold on." she said before galloping off in the direction of the shouting.
It didn't take long for the two to get there, what with Evayl riding at her fastest speed. But what she saw when they did arrive made her jaw drop. "Abel, look. It's..." Evayl pointed a gloved hand at the magnificent sight. I never thought I'd live to see such a thing... Evayl grabbed a book from Mely's saddlebag and opened to a marked page. "The Dragons. It's exactly the way he described them..." Evayl's voice was filled with worshipful awe. She quickly dismounted and ran to the dragon. A more cautious person would've been hesitant, but Evayl had so many questions. "What's your name, ancient one?" she asked, her eyes quivering.

OoC: I've been waiting FOREVER to do this post!!!
IC: Tuatara didn't bother getting off of Aeros, and climbed a little higher to make sure everyone could see him.
"BEHOLD, Aeros the mighty dragon!!!! The one has just rescued you from death, and I, Tuatara, his rider!!" Tuatara paused . "We have--" Tuatara slipped and fell off Aeros, landing in front of him with a grunt and a dust cloud. "Why did you move?! I was trying to give a speech!" Tuatara dusted himself off and unconsciously stole a pebble and placed it in Bob. "Jeez, can you just go back to normal so that I could talk to face to face? I -- Ooo, whats that?" Tuatara started walking over to a shiny weapon that was laying on the ground.
OoC: I'd rather no one knows or finds out about Bob for a while.

Tuatara faced the man. "I'm not sure... oh ya, we rescued this Manuel guy from some awesome bandit fortress, kicked some bandit butt, escaped with our lives, I fought the puny Aerious, and now where here to do something." Tuatara said this as he stole some golden teeth out of the mans pocket without neither of them noticing.
"Come on Lizard-boy!" Tuatara walked over to Komodo. "This is Komodo." Tuatara then pointed to the man next to Komodo while stroking something in his other hand. "And that's.... that's.... that's...." Tuatara looked at his hand and realized he had Komodo's bow in his hand. "Oh, thats Manuel," he said beaming. He gave back Komodo's bow.

Cefia handled her bandit with care and managed to give him a good knuckle sandwich. The man fell back, obviously stunned for awhile. She gave him a toothless smile before decapitating the man with the swing of her axe. Moments later, there was a giant dragon and mages. Oh...she didn't handle well with mages and dragons. The only thing she was expecting was some bandits, this WAS NOT in her contract/deal.
"Oh man, not my department, I'mma head outta ere," she mumbled, losing her accent. Seconds later, she ran out towards the forest in the confusion.

Abel just stood there in awe, not moving. When he found a his courage to talk he said,"It's not that terrifying," he said to him self. "It's just like a wyvern, only bigger." Abel walked up to the dragon called Aeros. "Great dragon Aeros, why have you come?"
OoC: Ya, lame but all the good resposes were gone. Will you get on with Aeros? I'm sure we'd all like to quit groveling...

The bandits had to a one fled into the woods; axes, armor, and other articles had been scattered at their retreat, resulting in a pile that Tuatara would no doubt strip bare and put into "Bob," which Aeros would empty.
The villagers and their apparent defenders were a much more varied--and, in general, much more amusing--bunch, even though they had mainly resorted to gibbering, stuttering, and freezing in place. A pair of them, however, had gathered either the courage or the indifference to come and talk with him...it could be interesting. Aeros quickly took stock of the others: a blue haired swordsman was gibbering incessantly, resulting in a completely nonsensical, one-sided conversation that he seemed to be wrapping up nicely; his red-haired friend and a pair of bandits, obviously allies, had shown themselves in contrast, managing only a few hesitant words; an axe-wielder that was fleeing into the woods even as Aeros took stock of the situation; and finally, the two most interesting ones, a young healer...troubador was the word, he remembered being the name of the mounted ones, and a young green-haired mercenary that Aeros could tell had only managed to talk by distancing himself from the reality of his situation. Not that Aeros thought of himself as particularly awe-striking, but most humans did, and Aeros always had fun taking advantage of that fact.
The troubadour had asked a question, though, which Tuatara, in his usual klutzy, ridiculous fashion, had answered. What did I expect? Tut did have a point, though; the awe and fear had gone far enough. "Tut here has already introduced me, so that's out of the way." Preparing himself in case of another bout of gibbering, Aeros shrank to his humanoid form, tucking his Dragonstone away before giving Evayl a slight smile. "Don't feel obligated to call me 'great one' or anything like that. I came here to repay a debt, nothing more." Speaking of said debt, what has Manuel...? Ah, that must be Eric. Nobody else would look that clear-headed with a gash open in their head. It was the latter fact that concerned Aeros, although he knew it couldn't be a serious wound. "There seems to be healing needed," Aeros said to Evayl, trying to sound off-hand so as not to receive another bout of gushing "great one."

Evayl immediately nodded and began to inspect everyone for wounds. She concentrated totally on her healing, in spite of the magnificent being that she had just now met. It was hard not to be in awe, really; Evayl had only read about such beings, never before having imagined actually meeting one. Even though this Aeros seemd friendly, she couldn't shake the excitement.
After she finished examining everyone present and healing them accordingly, Evayl returned to Aeros. "So, Aeros." she said, struggling to use the name. "I know this may sound foolish, and if you don't want to answer by all means feel free not to, but I was wondering if you heard about the great knight Rayl? I've read his books, and the way he describes dragons, you fit it so well." Evayl tried not to stammer or sound too pushy, but it was hard. This was such a big occasion.
