"Hmm, I remember asking him if stealing was wrong one time, but he always replied with, 'Its not stealing unless you get caught,' that is technically true, but err," she shut her mouth. It was probably not a good idea to tell a clergyman about the life of a thief. She hadn't been able to chat so easily nowadays, she must have grown accustomed to Valorian's presence. That only meant it would be a whole lot more painful if anything happened with him. She won't run again, not like the time at the ruins.
"But he also taught me that there are people willing to hire us for our eyes, but I can't imagine why..." she said, trying justify the man a little better.

Valorian gave her a tell tale grin, and said. "Not stealing if you don't get caught eh? Just be careful with that, our past misdeeds have a way of catching up to us." He finished. His facial expression said he was not judging her.
"Well, you do have very ni-good...very good eyes. I mean you saw the creatures mulling about here in the middle of our conversation. I'd imagine you'd be an excellent scout if we could get you a little more height. Maybe you should talk to that Pegasus Rider about that. Unless you are afraid of heights?"

"What? Can't everybody spot things like that? They are pretty obvious, if you look hard," Jya asked, not quite sure how to take the compliment. She didn't find that seeing through darkness to an extent or fog was much of a big deal. Wasn't everybody able to do that?
"Well, its not like I am afraid of heights, actually I really like it, but umm," she muttered, trying to explain that incident with Alan. She could have died if she had thrown up on that wyvern, but just thinking about the experience gives her some form of nausea.

Valorian chuckled slightly at Jya making light of her gift. She didn't understand how skilled she was, no wonder she'd survived so long.
Val misread her message on flying when he saw some of the color drain from her face. "Oh, a little sick in the air? I can understand...the first time I flew..."
He was sick, but for a different reason...that wasn't something he was happy to think about again.
"Yeah, I don't much care for flying. I'd much rather walk on my own two feet. I'm not terribly good with animals, plus holding the reigns with...um...the way I am...is kind of difficult."
Oh yeah, smooth one Val. That was a definite conversation killer. He suddenly became quiet, and then turned away, as if not wanting to look at her.
"I should go...see you around."
He scurried away while mentally cursing himself.
