Wyatt yanked his axe out of the brigands shoulder, as a fountain of blood poured. It'd be difficult for him to use an axe like that. As Wyatt noticed the door falling away, he got the point, she couldn't get past him. So he pulled back, intending to force them to come to him. Not quick enough, though, as the fist crossed his face, making his lip bleed slightly.
"Ugh, right, press on!" He said, maneuvering to where the other brigand could not sneak behind him, but keeping his eyes open. You never knew if these places had more then one exit.
"I've got your back!" Wyatt said, as she was now the Vanguard and he was watching the outside.

Aevian watched as Wyatt took the blow, and winced a little, seeing the way he recoiled. As Wyatt let her lead, she pushed on in his place, and placed her axe back in the loop, as she swung around the corner, placed her arms up on the door frame, and let herself fly in, swinging a kick to the man's upper chest, aiming forwards with the heel of her boot. once the man stumbled back away from the door, she withdrew her axe.
The brigand stood there, wiping his chest off of dirt and eyed her carefully, looking down at his injured companion as he continued to bleed out. Without a word, he look a swing at her, to which she made a small jump backwards, but as soon as she landed, she pushed forwards, and slammed her axe down on the man, to which he quickly moved to catch her axe on his. Down the hall, the three footsteps sounded closer, shadows bouncing off the walls.
"Crap.."
"Hahah, that's right! You're screwed.."

Wyatt watched her fight from over his shoulder, she was good. But when he heard the pressing of people from down the hall, he knew it was going to take more then her in a doorway to fight them all. Looking to the side, he saw a small broken out window, now just a hole in the stone framework, and he grinned.
"I'll be there in a sec!" He said, dashing over to the side and peering in the window. Indeed three people were coming, two of them from before as he remembered. He waited until they were almost underneath the window to make his move, and he jumped down from his perch with a battle cry.
It took the brigands by surprise, since they had their eyes on the women with her weapon pinned, and he managed to catch Bors in the face with his boot as he made his descent. He landed half standing on the poor Brigand's bloody face. He was now facing down two Brigand's of his own though.
"Gonna do four on one against one women? That's pathetic! Come and try me, I've fought the hounds of hell!"
He brandished his axe, showing no fear. He felt fear of course, but this was all about appearing strong.

Wyatt's battle cry almost shocked her, as it resounded in an echo off the stonework of the old building. her eyes never left the man she quarreled with, and grunted as he pushed her back, swinging, cleaving wildly with his axe, trying to keep Aevian at bay, but she moved in her own axe, slamming the blade of her weapon into the blade of his, over and over, and over. Continuous, loud rings chiming from iron on iron.
Between swings, as their weapons locked again, she looked him again eye to eye, and thrust a fist at his smug face, catching him on the cheek as her ring intended onto his cheek, and she followed through with a wide wake of her axe, cutting the belly of the man open, but at the same time, he caught her on the leg, cutting her, and making her jump back in pain. it wasn't a deep cut, but like small cuts, they all hurt to their own degree.
The man slumped down against the wall, clutching his open stomach, and cried out in pain. However, his pain was short lived, as the blood loss he suffered drew him into unconsciousness, and eventually, death. Gritting her teeth, she wheeled back, and stumbled up next to Wyatt, her bloody axe dripping crimson tears.
"You!" Aevian pointed with a finger. "I want what's mine, and I've come to your doorstep to get it."
Tsking at the two of them, Merrik looked back up to his leader. The man wasn't very big, no where near as big as Bors was, but it was evident he was strong, as he reached and grabbed his two handed blade weapon, which dwarfed the size of her axe by far.
"Finders keepers kids...don't be such little shits.."
Merrik eyed Wyatt closely, fingers tapping along the sword's hilt in his hand, wondering just how to fight him in such a narrow area. Straining a look up to their lord, he asked simply.
"Thrall, sir, what do we do now?"
With a smirk, he put a hand on Merrik's shoulder, and bounced back the way they came, Thrall all but pulling the younger man by the shoulder with him. They bolted for the back entrance. This narrow space would not serve his fighting style with such a long weapon.
"After them Wyatt! we can't let them escape!"

"Right!" Wyatt called back to Aevian, bounding after the pair as they made their escape. Some part of him knew this wasn't wise, but the blood was pounding now, and he wasn't thinking straight. He was glad she'd finished her opponent off, that meant he'd not have to worry about her, she could clearly handle herself. As he bound out into the bright sunlight again, he found the man standing there with his massive blade unsheathed. Sword uses were always a bane of his, too damn quick. But with a weapon like that it shouldn't be too bad.
"Finders keepers? What are you a village bully?" He spat at him, spinning his axe. "I'm not scared of you, come on then!" He shouted at him. But Merrik was the one who advanced first, taking a quick slash. Wyatt wasn't expecting him to be the first to move, and was caught by surprise as the blade grazed across his chest. It'd probably leave a scar, but it wasn't a deep cut, though it could have been a lot worse.
"Heh, you ain't so tough boy!" He shot back at Wyatt. "All bark, no bite!"
Wyatt just gritted his teeth. "That's because the axe brings all the bite I need!" And he swung it with such force that the blow shook Merrik's arm, though it held. If Thrall got involved now, it would turn bad for the blacksmith.

Aevian was right behind Wyatt, but with her leg wound, she was slowed up and it burned when she ran, so she limped on a bit, trying to half-run, but Wyatt would get there much earlier than she. As soon as she saw the outside, already, fighting had broken out between Merrik and Wyatt, but she moved as quickly as she could.
Thrall stood there, his long, thick weapon in hand, bouncing and at the ready for use. He began to move forward to engage Wyatt, but saw the figure of the girl breaking through the doorway to join them outside, and she was injured as well, this was a pretty good deal he had going on. Nodding to Merrik, allowing him the boy, he took to approaching the young noble.
"Might is Right, afterall..."
He mumbled the words, as if in response to Wyatt. Brandishing his weapon for Aevian to see, he brought it up in a ready stance, and charged her. The distance was closed quickly by the charge, and that heavy blade made a wide arc. Not only was it heavy, but it was quick. The blade looked like a blur to her, but she managed to get the Axe up, holding the hilt with both hands. The impact of Thrall's sword on her axe, actually knocked Aevian back a few paces.
Aevian's eyes were wide with bewilderment. She knew he looked strong, but not THAT strong. Again, the man moved forwards, the weapon over his head now, and brought down in a forward diagonal slash. Aevian thrust the weapon upwards, and deflected the blow as the sword went and hit the ground, kicking up dirt. With her own form of quickness, she half-spun and wheeled her axe around to catch him in the side, but Thrall backed away too quickly before the blow connected.

Wyatt heard the resounding clang that meant Aevian had survived the initial attack, and the subsequent sound of earth being dug up, that was good. He wanted to go to help her, but Merrik was really pressing the offensive, and though his form was sloppy, it was no less dangerous. Wyatt found it took all of his attention to deal with the renegade in front of him, to turn and help her would be suicide. The form was so wild and unpredictable Wyatt had difficulty trying to read his moves.
I need to make my hit count, I need a clean hit. I need to get him cocky. And so Wyatt gave ground, allowing himself to be pressed back. Twice Merrik's blade struck home, light wounds that only dampened his blade, but then Wyatt saw it, his form was opening. Wyatt knew his chance was approaching and feigned a trip.
Merrik brought up his sword to bring it down on the stumbling fighter, but Wyatt played his hand, bounding to the side and dragging his axe across the Brigand's body. The sound of the ripping of flesh filled the air as the man's lungs sputtered blood. Wyatt smirked and turned towards Aevian, but failed to realize that Merrik was not dead yet.
A mistake he paid for when Merrik's blade found it's way through his leg as the brigand fell to the earth, dead. Wyatt screamed out in pain as the blade pierced his leg, and looked at it stunned as it protruded from the other side.
He might have cursed his carelessness if he was able to think rationally, but the only thing going through his mind right now was a mind numbing pain.

The fight continued, and Aevian continued to give ground. That sword was quick, and so very long. Every bit of that weapon could spell death, no matter the range. Her attention became divided as she heard Wyatt's cry of pain, and her head lifted, but was still aware of her attacker. Fighting off another slash with the ringing of Metal. She saw the sword sunk into his leg, and her eyes opened wide in horror.
"WYATT!"
Her voice boomed as she expressed grave concern for him, but Thrall waited no longer for her brought the flat side of his blade around, and caught her on the side, batting her like a ball, sending her a few feet away. Aevian rolled a few moments, clothes dirtying from the tumble, and she shakily worked herself to her feet, the wound in her leg opened a little further, causing her to cry a little, a tear worked it's way to her cheek, but she never lost sight of the enemy.
She thought quickly, as he came running at her now. With yet another wide swing of his weapon, she feinted left, but actually ducked down under the blow, all but lieing on the ground. Spinning on her back, she kicked Thrall directly in the knee, a loud crack being earned from hi leg, snapping the leg backwards in ways it should not bend.
With a loud groan, the man fell back, and took another swing, catching her on her arm and lower torso as she began to stand up. A spray of cleaved blood working its way from her wound with the sword. Dropping her axe, she caught it with the other, and as she fell, she threw her heavy weapon at Thrall as he began to crawl away. The blade caught him on the chest in the right side, and the heavy man sunk in a slump where he was outstretched, and breathed his last. However, Aevian, too, fell down to her knees, eliciting another painful cry from her leg wound.

Wyatt saw the end of the fight through his hazed vision, but couldn't manage a smile or anything else...this hurt! He'd been near death before, but that time he'd been so greviously injured that he wasn't even really aware of it. This wound he would survive, so he was fully capable of feeling all of the pain. Still...he was aware of what had to be done as he looked down at the sword sticking through his leg. His hands shakily grabbed a larger bandage from his pack, and he looked at the sword as his face paled...this was going to hurt.
"Aevian...I need...help. I've gotta pull the sword out...but I'll be too stunned to tie off the bandage. Can you?" He held out the large strip of cloth. It should be able to stop the majority of the blood loss, at least until he could get it actually treated. He panted hard, that was a lot harder then he'd imagined.

Aevian looked to Wyatt and gave a small smile as she coughed up a little blood, trying to keep a elegant charm about herself, at this time, of all times. She went and looked to Thrall, and saw her satchel around his waist, and stood up, and limped over to him, blood seeping from her wounds with every moment. Even the places that weren't injured felt as if they were open and sore. Taking her pack from the man, she eyed the three vulneraries inside, and couldn't help but smile.
Working her way to Wyatt, she took out on of the Vulneraries, ready to use when she was done pulling the blade free.
"I'll apply the salve to the bandage once its done, and let it soak into your wound."
She took the bandage from him, and wrapped it around her undirtied hand. Her ruby eyes shimmered a sense of regret for what she will be doing.
"Okay...here goes..." wrapping her hand around the hilt of the sword, she was careful, and took a moment to wait until he had stopped moving, and then, with one quick jerk, she pulled the blade free of his leg, and then went quick to work, not bothering to wait to see how he reacted. Pulling the stopper from the vulerary, she rubbed it over both sides of his wound, allowing it to close from both sides, however, it wouldn't work solely this way. Taking what was left of the vulerary she didn't use, she rubbed it over the bandage, and quickly tied it over his leg, making sure the cloth was tight enough to keep on, but not enough to cut the circulation off.

When Wyatt felt her hands wrap around the hilt, he lifted his own axe up, placing the handle into his mouth and biting down. He'd seen more then one person bite their own tongue off after getting a piece of metal, usually a broken farm tool or some such, pulled out. And when she pulled it out in one swift motion he almost passed out from the pain. He gritted his teeth and tried very hard not to scream around the axe handle, and in time the pain dulled. He looked up through his tear strained eyes to see the bandage in place, though his leg felt nearly numb. When he was alert enough to notice, he saw that she looked only slightly better then he did.
"You..need help..I'm ok..." He got out, though feeling very weak. He would not be doing any walking on this leg today. It looked like they'd have to rest here for the night, since they weren't going to be getting back to any town like this.

Aevian breathed a small sigh, tossing the sword behind her back towards the building. After she had finally taken care of Wyatt, she would then allow herself. Taking the second vulnerary from the pack, she lathered the ointment over her exposed wounds, wounds on her arm, chest, and leg closing rapidly, but the pain...oh god...the pain was still there. She felt like she wanted to scream in agony, but she couldn't show it, instead, her eyes held back tears longing to get out, but held at bay out of sheer determination. Reaching for her axe, she paused for a moment and saw that it was still in the man's chest not far away.
I guess it's okay to leave it there, until I get Wyatt inside...
She thought to herself as she kept herself still, blood on her white clothes rather evident, no way of concealing that, that's for sure.
Aevian nodded in agreement with Wyatt as she stayed there a little longer, no strength in her to move just then.
"Perhaps the highwaymen have some things here anyways...may be fruitful, to give it a little look over...once we're rested up.."

Through the pain, through the exhaustion, Wyatt actually started to laugh. A low chuckle was all he could manage.
"Hah..so we beat em...that was...one hell of a fight."
He placed his axe into the dirt, using it to try and push his body up, but without anything to really balance on, it was all he could do to move himself to a sitting position.
"Still, I'm really impressed, I didn't think you'd be that good. You're really a true warrior."
He looked up into the sky, his leg didn't hurt so much now as the healing effects were taking full hold, but he could tell that it would reopen if he placed too much weight on it.
"How's your injury feeling? That stuff is a godsend."

Aevian gave a small start as she was told how good she was. Shaking her head, she wiped off what sweat had been there before. Her eyes went over to Wyatt and still, her chest heaved like she had just run one hundred miles. The dead surrounded them...as proof of their deed.
"Thank you, Wyatt, but I'm not good yet. If I was, I could have gotten away without a scratch. Always room for perfection, but thank you for the praise. You're pretty good as well."
She gave a small nod as she began to work herself up to her feet, grunting. Her body felt stiff as she straightened herself upwards. Her first task was to retrieve her weapon before it became blood stained. Slowly, she hobbled over to the dead leader, and ripped the blade from his ribcage, a few cracks being heard as she withdraw, causing her to shiver.
Taking Thralls shirt, she wiped the blade down until it was almost perfect the way it was, aside from the few nicks in the blade and on the shaft. Looking back towards Wyatt, she motioned to the building with her eyes. "Come on, lets go inside before it gets dark...I'll get the bodies outside...I'm sure they have beds."

It took a bit of doing, but Wyatt was able to hobble himself into the remains of the outpost, leaning himself against a wall to rest. He wiped the sweat from his brow and shot a weary smile to Aevian. He pulled a water skin from his side, still soaked from his trip in the river, and shook it.
"Hah, looks like that swim gave me something good of it." He probably would have refilled from that river anyway. He pulled the stopper and took a long draw, before offering the hide to Aevian. Moving a few corpses had to be tiring work, and he felt more then a little weak that he couldn't help her.
"First rounds on me I suppose. After all, I can't help with the cleanup."
