"You're on."
She gave a wave of her hand, declining the offer for water. She was thirsty. but not overly so. Aevian didn't bother with the bodies that were outside. Thee was no need to move things that were already out of the way. However, she pulled the two men outside that were at the front of the building, and looked around for the Third, the one named Bors. Frowning somewhat, she shrugged, and played it indifferently.
"Guess he was the smarter one afterall..."
Shrugging her shoulders, she went and grabbed her tunic which she left up on the branches outside the fort, and on her way back in, she stared off into the treeline, shivering, as if she were being watched. Aevian got like this normally, always thinking someone was there watching her, but there was no one in her sight.
Before she went in, she placed the door back, kind of regretting knocking off the hinges now, but either way, all she did was, when the door was propped on, as barricade it with tables and chairs. It wasn't' the greatest, but it would have to do. Walking back to Wyatt, she set her axe upon the table in the main room rubbing the blade with her finger, wondering to how sharp it was still.
"I'm going to go peek around. Perhaps they had a cache."

Wyatt saw how diligently she worked and looked about himself, there had to be something he could do. As she walked about, looking through the small building, Wyatt spied her axe. And then it struck him as he snatched it up, pulling a strap of leather from his pack, and ran it over the tip as quickly as he could. It was such force that sparks flew from the axe as it's blade was sharpened.
He sat there humming as he worked on the axe, now ignoring almost everything else. Nothing really mattered now that he was doing what he loved. It was fine craftsmanship, and it reminded him.
"You know...the first weapon I ever worked on was an axe like this, belonged to a Knight of Lycia. I really wish I didn't lose my smithy stuff in the river, oh well at least." He pulled the smith's hammer from his side. "I kept the important part."

Aevian could hear the scraping of metal being sharped. She had only heard it once, and that was when her own personal guard worked on her weapon. The man would not let anyone do it, he was weird like that. Frowning, she went into the various rooms, but she could hear him, not being stopped from her search of the place. She was kind of low on money and supplies as is, she wouldn't mind getting a little bit of something out of all this pain and injury, afterall.
"Yeah?" She called from one of the rooms, frowning, unable to find anything yet, she came on back, and tilted her head at Wyatt, seeing he was sharpening her blade, and then looked to his smiths hammer, and gave a chuckle.
"Well, its good you kept that, but I'm surprised it didn't become a burden to you, know it would have to me, afterall."

Wyatt twirled the hammer around in his hand. "What are you kidding? A Smith's hammer is his soul, I'd take this all the way to the bottom of the ocean before I let it go." He chuckled. "Besides, it's not like the two handed mauls that master smiths use, I'm not strong enough to lift those yet. Someday though..."
He was starting to get tired, and began drifting in and out of reality. During her search, Aevian would find a small stash of gold (50) hidden behind a fake wall. She'd also find a little bit of food, maybe enough for a day or so. Hungry though he was, Wyatt was already out, the exhaustion catching up to his weary body.

Aevian grinned at her good fortune, and tucked the money away. With the found she found as well, she gave it a light smell, and figured it to be well. Nothing special, just some bread, some jerky meat, and some cheese. Tucking the food away, she went to go back to Wyatt to share the food, but noticed he was already out. Smiling, she left the doorway of where he was, and settled herself down on a chair, wrapping her cloak around herself.
"Tomorrow...where to go tomorrow.."
Shaking her head, she slowly slumped back, and let exhaustion wash over her. She needed the break. Putting her feet up on a chair, she was as comfortable as if it were a bed, in her condition.

The new day dawned soon enough, and Wyatt, injured as he was, had been trained to rise with the sun. So his body awoke, and the first thing he felt was hunger. He hadn't had anything to eat for close to a day and a half, now that caught up with him. As if by luck, his eyes spied a small amount of food left next to him, probably by Aevian. Without a second though, he greedily began feasting on the simple foods, as if they were the best food he'd ever tasted.
Perhaps he should have remembered his manners, but he'd worry about that after his body met it's needs.

Unlike Wyatt, Aevian was more pampered. She slept soundly on her chair, arms crossed and covered by her cloak, breathing softly, almost as if she were not breathing at all. Her dreams played at yesterdays events, she was watching herself from a third person view, watching herself as she slayed men, the same men, but something was different in the way she watched herself. Closer, as she moved towards herself in the dream, her body stood standing over Thrall, axe in her hand.
There was no sound, no nothing. She tried to speak, and in her own thoughts, she thought she was speaking, but no words broke free to hear. Her mute words falling on deaf ears. Aevian's image lurched a little, shoulders jostling up and down, and Aevian was confused. Suddenly, her mirror image threw up her head, laughing. She was laughing. She needed no sound to know it was maniacal. Taking a step back at first, she continued to approach, circling around to look at herself, and just as she got to her side, the mirror image looked right at her, Teeth long and exposed, sharp, with horns protruding from her head.
Aevian's eyes went wide in the dream, and just as this demon version of herself took to looking at her, wings, black as night, and with a tinge of purple appeared from out behind her cloak, raising into the air. A dark bladed axe was in her hand, and the demon leaped at her, aiming to kill. Aevian, in her defense, closed her eyes, and brought her hands up infront of her face, looking away.
Just as she did this, she awoke, and fell out of her chair with a thump, groaning softly as her body trembled from the after effect of waking so suddenly to something so scary. her body shook, but quickly, she collected herself, and began to stand up.
A nightmare...just a nightmare..

Wyatt heard the commotion and moved to check it out, when his leg revolted on him. He didn't fall over totally, but he stumbled and had to press his hand against a wall to keep himself upright. Instead of looking more the fool, he just called out.
"Lady Aevian, are you all right?"
Silly question, she was probably fine. But just in case, he pulled up the hammer as his feat. If that last bandit had come back, he'd get a very unfriendly welcome from this well rested smith.

She heard Wyatt's voice, but instead of answering him, she only nodded, confirming with him that she was alright. Looking back to where she heard his voice call out from, and not seeing him there, she gave a roll of her eyes at her own stupidity, rubbing her cheek in a bashful manner as she straightened out. Her body ached when she stood straight up.
"Oh...ah, yes, I am, thank you."
She dusted herself off, and sneezed as some of it got up her nose. The place smelt of mold and old soil, it was now just starting to get to her. She walked her way, thinking about her dream, towards where Wyatt was, and rounded on the door, taking a peek inside.
"Good morning Wyatt, hows the wound?"

Wyatt nodded at her response, and then chuckled to himself as he heard her sneeze. As she rounded the corner, he looked up with a grin as he snapped off a piece of the jerky.
"It's a little tender, but it'll be ok for today. I guess..." He looked over to one of the broken tables littering the room, and hobbled to it. With a strong drop, he cut a leg clean from the table with his axe. He moved the piece of lumber around his fingers, checking it's length.
"Yeah..this should make a good walking aide until it finishes recovering. We don't have time to wait around, so it'll have to heal on the road, right?"

Slowly nodding, once more, and a grin was giving to him, that it would be alright probably to walk on. She all but forgot her own wounds, while watching him. Not letting her eyes linger, she went back and grabbed her axe, hefting the heavy weapon onto her waist, and began to clear the door of her make-shift barricade.
"Okay! Lets move on out, I want to be as far away from here as soon as possible."
She paused a moment as she turned back around, knowing Wyatt would probably keeping pace with her, as she walked a little slower than normal for him and his leg. Peeking back over her shoulder she started to ask, then stopped to think it over, and then asked anyways.
"So where will you be going, Wyatt?"

"Where? Oh I imagine I should go to Ostia. My comrades are going there, so even though I'm a bit behind them, I might run into them in time if I move quick enough. Other then that..I was paid to go there, so I've gotta earn my gold."
He was able to keep decent speed, and avoid putting too much weight on his leg. So they walked, down the path. "So, you said you were thinking on Ostia or Laus? Well let me tell you, there is nothing happening in Laus yet..but Ostia...well.."
Destroyed...he had to see.
"I need to confirm it, with my own eyes."

I need to confirm it, with my own eyes.
She said back to herself in her head, and grimaced a little at him, but yes, she too, needed to confirm this. If this was a threat to Bern, then she would rouse Bern's armies, she had to, if someone else didn't do it first. She may not have the position of the princess, but to hell with that, if there's even a little bit of support, she could work with that.
Breathing in a deep breath, she walked briskly, thumbing the hilt of her axe in her hand, and eyed the trees warily. She was not quite as carefree as she was the day before, and she lost a lot of time off her journey.
They made it back to the road, quite a distance away from where she was assaulted, from having taken a different route back through the trees. Humming softly, she tried to keep tune. She was no good at singing, but give her a flute, or a harp any day, her more favorite of instruments.

They walked in silence for a bit, until Wyatt, as curious as he was, broke it.
"Lady Aevian, you said there was more to your story if we survived. Well, I'm quite sure we are still alive, so would you mind sharing some more? Any tales of the outside world are interesting to me, after all. I guess, in return, I could tell you about some of my travels in Lycia. I'd like to imagine I've seen some things in my short career."
He paused for a moment. "Besides, it might make the time pass quicker."

An eyebrow perked up as she heard listened to Wyatt. She did remember saying that, but she didn't quite remember where she left off...unti a few moments of mulling it around. Frowning a bit, Aevian put her hands behind her head and interlocked her fingers, looking up at the sky through the overhanging trees.
"I did say that, didn't I? Well...where to begin...well, my mother isn't of Bern. She's Sacaen." She nodded a-matter-of-factly, "usually, in families, rich or poorer, the youngest are loved more, as it would seem, because they are always going to be the babies of the family, but...it was different. Favoritism was never placed on me. My siblings were simply better at nobility than I was, so, I was cast out. My mother was always on my side, but she always looked at me strangely..."
She tried to remember her mother's face now, it had been so long since she had talked with her, and truely, she missed her deeply. Sighing, she tried to get back on topic.
"She looked at me like I reminded her of something, something she used to love, but still loved...if you can somehow piece that together. It wasn't the same adoration she had for my sultry sister, heavens no.." Aevian began to laugh, her older sister was a harlot, and a tease. "I was a good child, but I recall my brother, the second oldest, he said I should have been born a boy, the way I played with swords. I was better at it than he...even though I don't use swords anymore...I was always better with the Axe."
