Syana gave a little nod. "Yeah, I'll be fine." She sheathed her sword and followed Parry slowly, still limping as she walked. It hurt less now, as if her body was becoming used to the pain. It'll be gone soon enough, she knew, cause the village had to have a healer.
After they walked for a few minutes, a grin grew on Syana's face. She had remembered something from earlier. "Hey Saturos. What do you think those jerks from earlier will think about us coming back like this?"

Saturos just grinned and chuckled a bit. "Oh, they'll give us crap for it for sure," he said jovially, "but it doesn't really matter, does it? We're alive; that's what counts." Saturos flopped an arm onto Parry's head. "Ain't that right, Parry?"
"You'd just as soon be dead if I hadn't been there," Parry said, a tone of sternness in his voice. It was masked mostly by relief. The bearded man sighed. "Aye, though, I'm glad you're alright. That was one of the biggest wyverns I've ever seen." He turned his head to look at Syana. "You did yourself well lasting as long against that thing as you did." "He's right," interjected Saturos. "I mean, I was almost eaten."

Syana gave both of them a big grin that masked the areas of red on her face. "Thanks. I just remembered what you told me beforehand. And Marle was a big help." Instinctively she looked next to her, expecting to see the girl, and her face fell when she remembered she had left. She sighed sadly and kept walking along. She spoke up again after a few minutes. "Where are you heading to next?"

Saturos groaned as Parry remained silent to let the myrmidon speak. "I'm not really sure," he replied, shrugging. "I don't really have a specific place in mind, though I was thinking about Bern. I've always wanted to see its large, stone castles. Bern is the country where real men go to test their mettle." Saturos clenched a fist and laughed jokingly. "I hear it's under Ilian occupation, nowadays, and I'm thinking I might just be able to find an old friend there." He sighed. Finding one man in a country was like finding a needle in a haystack. That was, of course, only true if the person you were looking for was good at being subtle. The myrmidon knew Richter was good at being subtle, be he also know he could cause quite a fuss if need be. It was a stretch, but it was better than nothing. "You're welcome to come with me if you like."

Syana gave a little nod. "I'd like to join you if I could. I've already done more on this trek than I have in a while. Plus, I feel like I can learn a lot if I do." What she didn't say was she knew that traveling around she might run into one of her brothers and get some information on her family. It was then she realized just how long she had been away from home. It was weird. She didn't really miss it. Maybe this is what is means to be a mercenary.

The walk was long, and for the most part, quiet. The absence of Marle weighed on both of their minds, and plus, all of them were just flat-out exhausted. They moved at a fairly slow pace, and because of this, they got back to the village awfully late. A giant pile of goat carcasses sat outside the tavern, in which everyone was hooting, hollering, and having a good time. They'd been stripped of their meat and tossed outside. The men would clean them up in the morning, but now was the time to celebrate the hunt. Nobody seemed to care that the four were missing, but then again, Parry always came back so what was there to worry about?
Carrying Saturos into the inn and up the stairs, grabbing a key off of the front counter as he walked by, Parry dropped the myrmidon on a bed to rest. Saturos nodded. "Thanks for the lift, you old fart," grinned Saturos. The old man just smiled. "Get some rest, I'll see you in the morning," he said, then turned to Syana. "There's another bed in there you can use. I'm going to go see the results of the hunt."

Syana gave a tired nod and laid down in the bed. It wasn't easy getting in, with her arm and leg still being in pain. Her arm had stopped bleeding, though, so that was good. She closed her eyes for a few minutes, collecting her thoughts. When she opened them, she leaned up ever so slightly so that she could take down her hair and brushed it out of her eyes. It felt good to have it down after having it up for so long. She couldn't help it and gave a big yawn. She was more tired than she had realized.

The sun poured through the windows and the chirping of birds could be heard as Saturos awoke. He opened his eyes and stared at the ceiling. Sun? Again? Usually he was up before dawn. True, it was probably because of the injuries, but he had woken up late the day before as well. This inn seemed to have a sleepy affect on him.
Saturos slowly pushed himself into a sitting position. His muscles groaned in protest as he did. He felt himself over. He could feel the scars from the wounds, but they were all healed up. Vulneraries practically regenerated you when you slept, but that didn't stop the normal aches and pains of a sore, recovering body. The myrmidon yawned and stretched, then pulled himself out of bed and stood up.
There was no need to get dressed, since he had slept in his armor. Speaking of armor... Saturos looked down at his breastplate. It was covered in scratches and holes from where the wyvern had bit him. Fortunately, though, due to the way he had the armor forged as one solid piece, these damages didn't harm the overall integrity of the plate. They just gave him a few weak spots. Saturos didn't mind too much. A real swordsman defended himself with his blade. Any armor was meant purely as a safeguard. In fact, the myrmidon kind of liked it. The battle damage told a story. It made him look tough.
As Saturos looked around the room, the door creaked open and Parry popped his head into the room. "Ah, so you're up. I was just coming to check in on you," said the old man in a hushed voice, stepping into the bedroom. "How are you feeling?" Saturos cracked his neck and shrugged. "I've felt better, I can say that much," he said, chuckling softly. "The fact that I'm alive is practically a miracle. I'm lucky you were there to save me." Parry shook his head. "I'll never understand how you can be so casual in the face of death," he mused. "I'm just an easy going guy," said the myrmidon in response. Parry closed his eyes and gave a slow nod. "Aye, that you are," he replied, "that you are." With a sigh, the older man turned to look at Syana, who was still sleeping. "I'll just say I'm glad you both are alright. That's the biggest wyvern I've seen in at least 40 years."

Syana's eyes slowly flickered opened. She heard voices, but she couldn't quite hear what they were saying yet. She tentatively moved her arm, happy to feel that it had healed over night. She wiggled her leg around a little. It was all healed as well. She gave a soft sigh of relief. She was gonna be alright. It was around then that she was able to make out what the men were saying. The merc slowly sat herself up in the bed, shading her eyes from the bright light. "Just our luck, isn't it? Couple of nice kids go out for a mountain stroll and almost get eaten by the biggest wyvern around." She gave a smirk. "Morning you two."

Saturos nodded to the red-headed girl. "Ho there, glad to see you got a good night's sleep," greeted the myrmidon. He looked back at the large man in front of him. "Well, now that Syana's up, I think we best get going." Parry frowned. "Already? You're still beat up and sore. Besides, don't you want to get something to eat first?" Saturos shook his head. He didn't feel like staying any longer.
"I've got a bunch of food in my satchel," he said, jabbing his thumb at the brown leather bag the myrmidon carried around with him. "Though I'll grab something to go if you've got it." The old man shook his head. "You really want to leave right now?" he asked for clarification. Saturos nodded. "Yup," he replied. Parry shrugged and sighed. "That's just like you. You're in and out like a ghost," he said. Saturos chuckled. "You know it," he said, smiling. Parry couldn't help but smile to. He clapped Saturos on the shoulder, causing the swordsman to stumble a bit. "Well, in that case, I won't keep you any longer," said the large man. He embraced Saturos in a big bear hug, which Saturos reciprocated, albeit a bit suffocated. The two men released each other and looked at one another.
"Don't worry, I'll be back to visit, you old fart," said Saturos. "Don't get yourself killed, you hear?" replied Parry. The myrmidon gave the axe fighter the thumbs up, then, grabbing his satchel, started out the door, not really considering the fact that Syana was still crawling out of bed. Saturos could be a bit thoughtless some times. "Syana, you coming?" he said, as he headed out the door. Parry just chuckled. "Take care of yourself, Syana. Make sure the idiot doesn't get himself into too much trouble."

Syana gave a little chuckle. "Yeah, yeah I'll be right there." She dragged herself out of bed and quickly put her armor on. She fastened her sheath onto her hip and sheathed her sword. Then she gave Parry a smile. "I'll try my best but no promises. I've only known him for a short time and I can already tell he has a knack for getting himself in trouble." She laughed quietly to herself before giving Parry a hug. "It was nice to meet you Parry. Take care of yourself." She gave him a wink. "You never know when we'll need someone with a huge axe to smash a monster's face in for us." The mercenary gave Parry one last smile before making her way after Saturos. "Hey, wait up!"

Saturos and Syana made their way out of the village until the two were standing out in the grassy fields of eastern Etruria. Saturos took a deep breath, then turned to Syana who came up behind him. "Alright then, looks like it's time for a little adventure," he said with a big grin on his face. This was his favorite part of life. Not the partying or the fighting. No, Saturos loved the walking. He loved the feeling of trekking across sprawling landscapes; exploring the world. He was an outdoor junkie. "Our destination is Bern!" he said, pointing his finger to the southeast.
"It's quite the walk, think you're up for it?"

Syana gave a little smirk. "Of course I'm up to it. I love a nice cross continent walk." She stretched quickly before she started off. She had to admit, she was looking forward to this. She looked over at Saturos as they walked. He was still something of a mystery to her and she wanted to learn more. She clapped her hands together. "So. What are we looking for in Bern?"

"An old friend," replied the myrmidon succinctly. "From back in my army days. I was up in Ilia and his sister asked me to look for him." Saturos turned to Syana and made a slight grin. "I was a soldier in the Bernese army, and he was a hired mercenary, but we served in the same company for awhile. I figure if he's not in Ilia, Bern is a good a place to look as any."
The swordsman sighed. "I doubt I'll find out anything of any real significance, though," he said realistically. "Bern is a large country and he is just one man. If I'm lucky, he'll have made a name for himself or something and finding him won't be to hard, but I'm not betting on anything." Saturos nodded to himself. "Aside from that, I've been running a bit low on gold lately, and Bern is a good place for swordsmen to find work."

Syana gave a nod. "I'll help in any way I can. And I agree, from what I've heard Bern was good for money making." She looked over at Saturos as they walked. So he had been in the army, huh? Maybe that's why she had thought he seemed like a good leader. She gave a look to her other side and sighed when she noticed Marle wasn't there. She still wasn't used to it. She then turned back to Saturos. "So, what's this merc's name, anyway? Maybe I know him."
