Which Way's Sacae Again?

It was a good plan. Tell her mother her plan, and everyone else that she was just going out for some riding practice, grab a lance and all the supplies her saddlebags could hold, and ride to Sacae, helping people in need, and turning back the invasion. Unfortunately, it had a few holes, the most prominent being that Antebi knew absolutely zero about the area outside the castle.
And so, she had spent the last few days going in whatever direction felt "right". And these hills seemed awfully familiar, though it wasn't until she passed a large broken stump for the third time that she finally voiced the obvious. "...I am so lost." She scanned the surrounding area, looking for some sort of landmark to tell her where to go, ideally a big sign that pointed down a long straight path and said "Sacae", but she'd settle for most-anything at this point.
The cavalier was so lost in her thoughts, she never even noticed that there was someone else there until one of them spoke up. "You been lookin' fer us for a while now, haven't you?" Antebi nearly jumped out of her saddle in surprise, turning to face a short, broad, middle-aged man resting an axe on his shoulder, flanked on his right by a thin, wiry fellow with a dagger. "What's that saying again? Look for trouble, and it'll find ya? Well, here we are."
"Looking for you? I'm sorry, you must be mistaken, I've got no need for mercenaries right now," Because that's clearly the first thing anyone thinks of when they see men brandishing weapons at them. Anti's naivete was ridiculous bordering on painful. "But if you could kindly point me in the direction of Sacae-"
"Don't play dumb, squirt. You've been circling our hideout for days now. We just got tired of waiting for you to make the first move." The second spoke up, quickly identifying himself as the sniveling brown-noser type. "Hey, boss, whadawe gonna do with 'em? Betcha someone'd pay good for a pretty thing like her." "I like the way you think, Weasel, though I question your taste in women. We'll keep her alive, though don't be afraid to break a limb or two. And kill the horse, it's more trouble than it's worth."
"Brigands!" The realization hit the cavalier like a ton of bricks. About damn time, really. She spun Artemis around, readying her lance and staring down the criminals. "You'll do no such thing!" Though, the axe-wielder was going to be trouble on his own, even without his sniveling little friend trying to bury that knife in her back. I'll just have to figure something out.
