...alright not really.
The first several hours hours ride were nice and calm with clear skies...but now...well, now it was raining as if the rain was caused by the tears shed by those already missing their loved ones out traveling. Needless to say the forming mud was proving to slow the horses down, and one could easily hear the pitter patter of rain across the armor of the many knights that rode down the path. But nonetheless they continued at the orders of Rayl, who was scanning the area for a proper place to set up camp should the rain worsen, as it slowly was starting to...

Rain...Saffra hated the rain...it brought back too many bad memories. She could feel the droplets beginning to soak her hair and clothes, boots were getting muddied, since she was walking on the ground. Grumbling, she broke away from the convoy, a few eyes following her, and she quickly transformed into her dragon form. it was quite obvious it stirred uneasiness, not only in the men, but as well as the horses. She grinned at them, those she was with, just a few behind Rayl himself. She towered over them all, but she held out a wing to cover Rayl, and a few other troops from the rain, while keeping the other to her side.
Her feet continued to get muddy and wet, as well with the whole of her body, but the rain didn't seem to bother her anymore, she was not really cold any longer, since her body gave off a great amount of heat to begin with. Sighing a bit, she couldn't help feel depressed. Everything around her looked depressing, afterall.
She didn't want to speak out of line, afterall, she was a part of Pherae now, and Rayl was the commander here. Her tail lucratively swayed with every footstep, thankful she wasn't hungry, game would be hard to come by now.
"Hope there's hospitable terrain to make camp on further up.." she spoke softly, despite her size, she had known how to control her volume over millennia of practice.

Chelsea's tears had long since subsided by the time it had started to rain. The handkerchief Rayl had given her was now stored in one of her pockets and her headband returned to its normal position. She was riding on Spirit now and had been for close to two hours. As she looked around at everyone, she couldn't help but notice they were not very happy at being in the rain. She, however, loved the rain. She leaned back so the drops could wash over her face. She had always loved running around in the rain when she was a little girl, and still even now.
She was still upset with herself for breaking down like that. Still, they were feelings she needed to get out and now that she had she felt a lot better. She looked towards Karina and gave her a quick smile. It was nice to have a friend she could do to for stuff like this. She patted the pocket where Rayl's handkerchief now was and gave another little smile. It was nice to have people who cared about her again.

'Uneventful' would be an understatement for the trip thus far. A few hours had passed, but due to the rainy weather, it was hard to tell just how many. The rain had doused off the fireballs he had been playing around with, trying to get keep the rest of the troops entertained. He had even used some as fireworks, launching them high up into the air and exploding them, sending shining red lights around the sky.
"And now I wish I had taken those lessons on water more seriously"
Truth be told, he always had an affinity with fire, yet, not so much with the other elements. "Oh, you'll be able to make some water...or wind...or lightning. Eventually.". Right. Easy for the teachers to say. They had already mastered the elements long ago.
"So, which is our first destination, Rayl?" he asked the leading knight. Lady Lucy was riding close to the Paladin, along with the main squad of Rayl's knights, Chelsea, Karina and Aren. Gabriel noticed that they had departed without him even knowing what the order they were visiting the cities was.

Rayl was grateful that Saffra was helping out himself and his men as best as she could...as were the soldiers lucky enough to be under her wing as well. Even the horses had begun to settle down, following Elibe's example of courage. When spoken to by Gabriel, he turned himself in his saddle, his trusted steed knowing to continue onward," Well Sir Gabriel, as I have stated to you yesterday," he begun, holding out the blue gem as if a reminder of the conversation," We first head for Santaruz, who I am sure will join us. Caelin may take some time seeing as it's a fairly small region. Laus will surely accept our aid as it is on the border between former Ostia and the rest of Lycia. From there we do a loop back to Pherae through the other regions, and from there-"
He paused, before speaking lower," Then...I'm going to ride into Bern and try and convince the Ilian ambassador there to provide aid and to loosen their hold on the country...We'll need more then just a unified Lycia to preserve everything we've worked for..."

Aren felt the rain as he heard the words from Rayl. He didn't think it wouldn't work so much. Something told Aren in his mind that there was going to happen something terrible and that was not about the cities, but to the journey of that. There could be evil lurking around as he remebered the bandits that crushed his city and his mother. "Going fast is not always a option Sir Rayl." He said as he looked to Rayl. "Bandits are everywhere and evil has gone to cities, who says the city will fall without a fight?"He asked as he looked to him.
"Nothing has been said without a fight from the evil side, don't think Santaruz will give his army, without fighting if the leader is evil."Aren said. He had so much time to think about this and when he thought it all out, Aren spoke. That was Aren, first thinking then attacking.

Saffra offered a small smile on her large face. She had turned her head to look back at Gabriel, realizing he had asked a question. She too, had wondered as well. Unlike Gabriel, she was told nothing, only that the Marquess of Pherae had asked her to attend this..in a way. He made her a citizen, and planned on using her...it was contemptuous, but she knew that's how humans were, always seeking a means to an end. Still, she didn't sense any evil of the man, and he did try to make her feel welcomed with the decree, so, this is a kind of respect to show back.
"Sounds like a lot of traveling is ahead of you, then.."
She sounded rather mused, despite being earlier depressed, though, that depression never really had went away, it was only pushed out of the way. Licking her lips, she eyed around herself warily, almost like something may pop out at them, but all she could hear was rain.
"I never quite imagined how long this trek might take...but who am I to complain? I've lived hundreds of years, I can't start now talking about impatience."
Saffra smiled and let out a loud laugh, and kept her wing out over the knights' heads, presuming to sing a little to herself, but loud enough for others to hear...she needed some cheering up. Just before she was about to, she listened in on Aren, and gave the nomad a frown
"What makes you certain the Marquess of Santaruz is evil? I mean not to be rude, plainsman, but your ideas are rather extravagant and unfounded. You can't go to the Marquess with that kind of light hanging over your head.."
Saffra gave a long stare, looks like she found the pessimist in the group. Taking her eyes off of Aren, she looked back to Rayl and briskly stepped now, lowering her head down hear his, keeping a large eyes on him as she spoke.
"Do you want me to scout ahead a little?"

Rayl listened to Aren with contempt while he spoke his opinion. Unlike most commanders of armed forces, Rayl didn't mind when those under his command spoke out. In all actuality he preferred to hear the suggestions of others. However, in this case the plainsman was incorrect in his logic, and thus:
" Sir Aren, my good friend, hast thou forgotten thine history? Thou hast not been within Lycia for long, but surely you remember the Hargus incident of five years past?" ugggh more of how Barigan had spoketh was getting into his head- Spoketh?!
" Pherae and Santaruz both assisted against Bern's assault. Our region and theirs hast shared a strong friendship for many generations, to the point where our people are near one and the same. I have known many of the people personally, and hast spoketh with the marquess on many occasions. He is our ally and is sure to aid the rest of our bretheren of Lycia." he then looked to the dragon that flew above them, and gave a nod of his head,
"If that is what thou wishes, thou may proceed to scout ahead."

Chelsea listened to Rayl and the others as they spoke. She knew little of Lycia beyond Ostia and Pheare, so the names of all these places were strange to her. She figured she could ask Rayl or Karina about them later. For now, she just kept an eye out for anything that seemed out of place. At Saffra's suggestion to scout, she nodded slightly. A scout in this type of weather was always good. Whenever they had hunted in Sacae, they always had at least one scout, be it to look for game or other hunters so they knew to stay clear. With someone like Saffra, though, she doubted they'd need more than one scout so she took to merely looking around for anything small that may slip passed less careful eyes.

Saffra didn't wait very long to hear anyone else. her claws dug deep into the muddy road, and took off like a charger, only faster. Her sleek figure bounding up the road, and with the moisture and rain that was in the air, she had disappeared in no time. it felt good to go faster, this slow trudging because the humans and the horses was making her weary by the second...but now, she was on her own for as much as she knew.
Within the span of a few minutes, she was a few miles ahead of the rest. The road had looked much the same, with no real area for the men and women of Pherae to make suitable camp. Saffra came to a halt, and glanced around, grumbling a bit as water got into one of her large eyes, which had stung a little for the moment.
She moved leisurely at her own pace, ducking and weaving around trees to see if an area a bit deeper off the road would be hospitable for a contingent of soldiers to hunker down. So still, she made her way, alone, and wet, just off the road, as to not startle travelers who would be unlucky enough to be on the trail in this rain.

Aren listened to what Rayl said as he felt so wrong. "I never should have said it, Saffra was the one that hated him now and he wasn't on there side now as it feels like it."He thought. He then looked to Rayl as he went away from his keeping in silence. He went to the last man as he got behind it, so he would be alone again. He lived in fear, revenge and peace, but now it was just all being scared again, and disappointed that he tried to speak his mind. He looked around not saying anything as he petted his horse. "It is ok."He said to her.

Rayl watched as Aren made his way to the back. He hadn't meant to intimidate the nomad, and he was hardly an intimidating officer to begin with, but while this upset him, he had to keep his men moving and their morale as high as possible, and he could only pray that Saffra could find a decent place for camp...things weren't going too great, as he closed his eyes for a moment, taking not of how the pitter patter on his armor grew just faintly infrequent: the rain was slowly beginning to die out. The rain reminded him a lot of his childhood, really.
Whenever it rained he would stay inside after tending to the animals, watching through the window as the of the fire cooking the stew brought with it warmth and the scent of an incoming delicious meal...of course the that wouldn't happen in a situation like this, but one has to keep their own morale up as well...but how would he do that?
Well...he began thinking of Persephone: of her fair skin, snow white hair, pale blue eyes...her laugh...the way she made him feel good about himself...oh, and her-
Luckily for himself, no one would be able to tell the faint tears at his eyes we real due to the rain, and took a moment to remove his helmet nonetheless, and wipe them away as if to clear his vision of mud or something else.

Chelsea aimed her head to the sky again and allowed the rain to wash over her face again. It was so peaceful, though others seemed to take it as a bad thing. She took another long look around at her companions. Many of the soldiers she didn't know at all. They few she did were the ones she had previously met. Saffra had gone off earlier and Aren had fallen back. Karina was still beside her, but didn't look too pleased with all the rain. Gabriel was his normal self, which was still a mystery to her. As she turned to Rayl, she noticed him take off his helmet and wipe his face. Unsure whether he was thinking similar thoughts to what she had earlier or if his vision had gotten blurry, she nudged Spirit forward towards him. "Sir Rayl?" she asked somewhat hesitantly as he held out the handkerchief he had given her earlier that day.

Rayl had been fully brought out of his thoughts of Persephone's smiling face, and slowly reality hit him, and the face of his lost love was now Chelsea's. He blinked twice, before putting a hand over hers, then his other underneath her hand, and gently closed it," Thank you... but that is quite alright Lady Chelsea, I'm sure you may have more use for it than I will...I...don't have any tears left to shed." and thus with a smile, he lowered his hands from her's.
Sure it was a lie but how would she know? Besides, it was a little white lie to help keep someone from feeling depression, there was nothing in the code against that...
The troop continued onwards, and when they had reached over a hill, they had just heard an ear splitting roar: Saffra?!
The following sight was rather odd: A bunch of riders rushing forward to get to the sound of a dragon...

Rain made Karina miserable. She remembered the days where the rain had made it so she could not find food, and the time she almost died of an illness caught from being wet and cold. She walked beside Chelsea, silent as a shadow. Sascha kept her wings tucked in and her head down so she would not be vulnerable to lightning.
Then they heard Saffra. "Stay back! I'll go see what's wrong!" karina said. She swung herslef on to Sascha and whispered, "fly low and fast..." to her steed. Sascha kicked off and flew towards the source of the noise.
