Meeting Rayl's cousins made the day the most eventful one since the departure from Pherae. Not much happened, and Gabriel decided not to intervene in the conversation, since it seemed like Rayl hadn't seen his cousins in quite some time.
It wasn't until they had made camp that Gabriel could jump off Lady Lucy's horse. "I will never again ride a horse if I can avoid it" he said to no one in particular while stretching. The rain still fell on their heads, even while inside the forest, which meant that he couldn't even create a small flame.
Way to ruin the only thing I can have fun with...
Then, out from nowhere, two newcomers appeared: A woman and a young man probably not much older than Gabriel himself. Both carried axes, but seemed to come in peace. And with a goal not that far from their own, to boot.
Gabriel got closer to the group and bowed. After all, he was still a noble and had manners. Sort of. "Hello, Lady Aevian. Sir Wyatt. I am Gabriel, a mage in training. Formerly an Etrurian noble, now a deserter that has joined Pherae's army under Rayl's command" he said, outstretching his hand towards both. A weird introduction, perhaps, but it was commonplace between nobles to introduce oneself by stating allegiances and social status. "Hopefully you won't mind joining us. Right?"

When Aevian shouted out to them, Wyatt wasn't sure it was wise. And when they responded to her, he listened to what was said carefully. And his jaw nearly hit the ground.
"YOU'RE Sir Rayl?!" He half shouted in amazement at the cavalier in front of him. Laus was close enough that the rumors of his strength and ability had reached even his small town. "But...you're one of the greatest knights of the age! It's an honor to meet you sir!"
Meeting someone like this, in a place like this, was unexpected, and Wyatt had ill planned for it. He'd completely forgotten about the destroyed house or the deafening roar, and now was merely idolizing the knight before him.
Denzel and Selk would be so jealous.

ARen was looking at the scenes that took place, first the dragon girl came and then some cousins from Rayl. How nice to see him with his family again. He thought as he looked to Rayl. Then two newcomers joined as he looked to Wyatt and the woman. He said nothing as he stayed on his horse. He didn't trust this forest but, maybe he was just to scared because of some things but he didn't say anything. He ride a bit further to look if something was going to appear. He hated how he made mistakes and that made him, not believe in himself anymore and to see how he lost faith. After he was out of sight from the group and out of the forest to look around he sat down against a tree as he looked around, waiting what the day would bring.

Rayl's smile seemed to brighten slightly towards Wyatt's reaction towards him. Rayl had become increasingly known throughout Lycia, and while he didn't like the publicity as much as he thought he would have when he was younger... he did get to meet many young men and women, mostly horse riders, who sought him out to train them...and eventually stay under his service, hence the reason he had such a loyal group of soldiers under his division: all consisting of people of different Lycian Nations...and unlike the slow wheel of politics, they were always chit chatting, having fun, and rarely fighting amongst themselves...
...to the Pheraen Knight, this was his ideal idea of a united Lycia, people from all around together and happy...an impossibility at best, but one could only hope. His mind then drifted back to the eager boy before him, and he simply laughed," Yes indeed it is, and how art thou, my friend..." he paused to look at the pack on Wyatt's back," Hmmm...a Blacksmith I presume? St. Elimine must have sent you, for our company Blacksmith was unable to make the trip!"

Merio had nodded at Rayl and went toward the healer to have himself healed, and then came back. Apparently, two more had been met, both with axes. Seems as if one of them idolizes the knight.
It's odd to think that Rayl... the cavalier that had saved Kelvin as well as me when Kelvin fell into the "shallow" 7-foot river is now a widely famous leader. I wonder what people will think about me... nothing, I guess.

Kelvin, still distracted by his embarrassing near loss, stayed quiet for a while as Merio did the talking. As Merio went off to get healed, Kelvin's mind drifted back from the clouds. "Cousin, it is good to see you again. My, you've come a long way. Oh, the times we used to have. Do you remember the time I almost drowned in that river?"

Aevian suppressed a smirk from arriving. She watched Rayl closely the entire time, but she knew full well what he had meant, and in a manner, it was in a form of a not-asked request. To this, she gave a brief nod, and then looked back to Wyatt for a moment as he talked about Sir Rayl, as if he were a hero of some sort. His name eluded her, she had definitely not heard anything of him, but then again, Wyatt was Lycian, and they had their own form of heroes, like Ber did theirs.
"Is that so..." Aevian's red eyes traveled up to meet Rayl's, and then gave a mild shrug, as she went and moved towards the camp, coming close to Rayl once more, but then stopped, and looked up at him once more, fixing the gem on her forehead.
"You're right though, Bern will not see a mere knight of Lycia and heed his words, as you were summarizing, I do hold enough sway with the noble folk, to have you possibly gain an audience with then Ilian envoy...but don't hope too much on him."
She gave a respectful bow once more, and then moved through, and was then addressed by Gabriel. he didn't need to say he was of noble descent, she could have sensed it off him right there, he held himself differently than the rest of the soldiers.
"Thank you for your welcome, Lord Gabriel. Formerly or not, you are a Lord in your birthright, deserter or not. Your title will still hold sway in other lands, maybe, even if not your own. Don't sell yourself too short."
Aevian gave a kind smile, and then ran her thumb along the edge of her broad headed axe at her waist, and looked back to Wyatt with a regarding look.
"Wyatt, please, would you be so kind as to tell me about this Rayl we will be traveling with?" it wasn't really a whisper, and she hadn't moved by Gabriel an inch, instead, preferring his company, in a sense, he made her feel more homely, despite that he claimed to throw away his nobility, not an easy thing to do, she had learnt that for herself.

Wyatt positively beamed when Rayl noticed his trade, but he was so engrossed in hero worshiping him, he was unaware the Gabriel even addressed him.
"Yes! Yes Sir, I am a blacksmith by trade. I would be honored to work for your army, it would be...amazing." He could hardly contain his excitement. How many people got to meet a real hero like this? Upon Aevian's question though, he turned to her surprised. He couldn't imagine that anyone hadn't heard of Sir Rayl.
"You don't know? He's one of the most famous knights in all of Lycia! He's regarded as the most chivalrous and beloved by the populace, and also one of the most skilled! I heard a story once that he killed the bandit king himself even!"
He turned and glanced at Rayl, expecting to hear either confirmation or denial of this story. There had to be some truth in there! He was acting like such a kid, but he was entitled with a meeting like this, and just by chance!

Aren was scouting as he always did as he looked to some things coming closer, he didn't know if it was something but yeah, he couldn't trust on anything. He jumped on his horse as he headed to the group again. He looked to Rayl. "Rayl there was a group coming from the south, heading to here."He said as he looked to him. "I don't nkow if it was a group of enemies or friends."He said. "But I just wanted to warn you."He said.

Rayl smiled as Wyatt seemed to come to the defense of the knight, but when Hargus came up, his smile instantly disappeared, and for awhile he said nothing, the soldiers in his troop had also gotten quiet: this was something Rayl preferred not to think about sometimes, especially now since he spoke with Barigan...though of course they didn't know that last bit.
" Yes, it was my blow which felled Hargus, the Bandit King...but I was not alone mind you. We had great heroes from all throughout Elibe stand against him, the credit goes equally if not more to two other people...
There was Sir Matis, a nomad from the Sacaen Plains (along with him his brother Sir Kenshin.). He was our commander.
and Then there was Sir Alan, well known throughout all of Bern as one of the, if not THE, greatest Wyvern Lord of all history."
When he had spoke of Matis he had seemed to make a nod in Chelsea's direction, and along with some of the nomads who were in his company, including aren who had just ridden up. Likewise to the few knights of Bernese Descent who rode (and in some even fewer cases: flew) with him. "The battle there was not the victory of one man: but all of our people's...and I pray that we can unite against the threat we all know is to co-"
"Rayl there was a group coming from the south, heading to here." Quite the timing there as Aren spoke up, Rayl immediately turning to face the nomad, an obviously more pressing matter than reminding his men he wasn't the only hero of the past," Are you sure, Sir Aren? I'd like if you were to get a closer look. I'll ride with you." with this he turned Elibe around and began to head south, but stopped and turned to Wyatt and Aevian," Sir Wyatt, you and the princess may wish to find a tent, I'm sure you are tired." with this he continued on...
...why yes he did forget Aevian was a Duchess not a Princess...

Karina had been circling overhead, keeping watch from the skies. She had seen the second group of people as they approached, and had deemed them their either be friendly or no match for Sir Rayl. She finally flew back to the group when she thought it would be best. She stood by Chelsea, saying not a word.

When Chelsea noticed her friend land, and gave her a tight hug. "You scared me! I thought you were lost or something!" She let her go and gave her a serious look. "Next time, let me know where you are! I don't like being scared like that." She took her friend's hand started to lead her away. "Let's get you some food quickly so you'll be ready to go, if needed, when those troops get here."

Gabriel listened as the conversation unfolded. Wyatt looked like a small kid in a toy shop. His eyes were wide open, carrying the same spark as that of a child. Upon listening to Rayl talk, though, no one could really blame him. Rayl had really been the end of the war five years ago, along with a few others. He was probably as well known in Lycia as the Herald was in Etruria. As odd as it probably sounded, Gabriel had yet to see Rayl himself in action, so this would be a first for him as well.
"Thanks, Lady Aevian, but it was my own father that got me kicked out of Etruria. He intended to send me to jail for not agreeing with Kraft, and I had no option but to flee. I'd rather not be related to that man." Gabriel said, looking away from Aevian. He then shook his head and went on talking.
"Rayl is right, though. The tents are over there" he said, pointing behind him. "You might want to pick up a few towels and get yourself dry before you catch a cold."
Gabriel knew full well that the rain was probably his weak point right now. He could only use fire spells, and a little water could just douse his flames. If that 'incoming group', as Aren called it, were to cause trouble, he'd be next to useless.
"Now I wish I had continued taking those magic classes..." he muttered to no one in particular. Other than that one time he had called a lightning bolt, he had never really made use of any other element but fire. Hopefully the rain would subside before any trouble brew.

Aevian gave Wyatt an amused grin. She had not seen this kind of acting before, it was quite refreshing. Still though, she had to give a shake of her head in answer. Rayl's name escaped her, as well known as he was in Lycia, she had not heard his name in Bern, atleast not through her contacts. The common people might have known him.
"Sorry, Wyatt."
Again, Aevian shook her head, but this time it was to shake her hair out, the water was doing a fine job of cleaning it, but it was also doing a fine job messing it;s style up. With a sigh at how futile it was, she went back to Gabriel, and gave a subtle nod, not really having any kind of idea how his life was in the beginning, and now that she knew, she kind of wish she had said nothing...but still...cast out or not, he could rise up and take the place of his father should he need to in the future.
"Well, Sir Gabriel, do not give up hope on your lineage, atleast. Though your father may have sent you out of his care, if anything happens, you have the right to claim what is yours..."
Aevian trailed off at the mention of the nomad's warning, and then was addressed by Rayl, to whether she would need to be taken into the camp to dry off and rest, and a hard smile careened over her lips, destroy the previous emotion. A perked eyebrow was sent to Wyatt questioningly.
"Well, Wyatt, are you too tuckered out and wish to rest? Or would you rather go see what all the fuss is about? And show what you can do infront of your hero?"
Aevian almost missed a step in her own words. It didn't dawn on her until later, but did Rayl just call her a princess? That would be just plain foolish, or a manner of redicule...either way, she let it slide, for now.

Saffra had barely begun to get herself dry. She had continued to run a towel along her hair, trying her hardest to keep the cold out of it. A bit of a grumble left her throat, just displeased, and acting like a child that her hair was ruined. There had been so much commotion outside, and heard a few voices that she did not particularily recognize. Shifting herself closer and closer towards the mouth of her tent, she peered out.
The view she had was not helping at all. All Saffra could see was row upon row of other tents in her way, so she could not identify the people who were speaking, but she heard Rayl, that was a voice she had come grown used to hearing. Frowning, she brought her hand back from the tent flaps, and sat back into the pillow on the floor of her tent, and tossed the towel to the side of her tent, the flame of a lantern dancing inside helped with the reading she soon went back to.
