Kelvin's happiness reached a peak and he knew that he had to do something, and now. He wasn't going to let this moment get away, and this time, he knew he wasn't doing something stupid. He wheeled around and pulled Chelsea in. "There's your memo," he said and leaned in and kissed her.

Harlow must have taken a bit longer than he'd intended washing up, because when he finally ambled into the dining room, it looked like everyone else had already eaten. He saw a middle-aged woman starting to clean up the dishes.
"Um, excuse me!" He said. She looked up at him, startled. "You must me Mrs. Calderon, am I correct?"
"Yes," she answered him. "And yo must be one of those soldiers in Kelvin's troupe?"
Harlow chuckled and said, "Well, I'm not yet, but I may be before the end is out. My name is Harlow Rhodes. It's a pleasure to meet you, Mrs. Calderon. It looks like the group is getting ready to move out, but I was wondering if I might please have just a little of that oh-so-delicious-smelling fish before I left?"
She smiled back at him and answered, Oh, but of course! Not that there's much left, of course. Kelvin is such a glutton when it comes to my homefried fish!" She gave him a clean plate with the remaining fish on it and laughed amiably.
Harlow laughed along with her, and thanked her for the fish, which he consumed quickly - almost too quickly to truly enjoy and savor the taste, but he was so hungry!
"Well, it looks like it's about time to be leaving. Thank you again, Mrs. Calderon! I do hope we come back this way again sometime. I'd love to sample some more of your cooking!"
He waved at her as he gathered his things and exited the building, finding himself not alone on the porch. The timid youngster from before was sitting there cross-legged and seemed to be waiting. Harlow figured now was as good a time as any to introduce himself to the lad.
"Waiting for someone?" He grinned at the boy, and without waiting for a response, continued on, extending his hand. "My name's Harlow. Thanks for showing me the way to the bath earlier."

Chelsea gave a little smile as Kelvin recalled what she had said those many days ago. As he kissed her, she realized what she had been feeling since they got to his house. It seemed like, just maybe, she was starting to like Kelvin back. She felt a red blush creep over her face when they broke. "Thanks for the memo..." she said softly as she looked up at him. She gave him another little smile. She liked it.

He looked up to see who was talking, it was that scruffy man from earlier, looking significantly less scruffy. He wondered where he had gotten off to during dinner. He had a grin on his face, and didn't seem particularly mean. Valcrist lifted his hand up and took his, shaking it. Then he placed the palm of his hands onto his knees, holding them as his arms fell down to his sides. Looking out to the fields he smiled to himself and then looked back up to him. "I'm Valcrist. I'm going with them when they leave." He recalled what he overheard earlier... and didn't remember much. What he did remember was being incredibly embarrassed. Still, he recalled him too being asked to come. "You're coming along too, right?" He asked, but dropped it with a shake of the head. "Wait, nevermind. None of my business."
Sitting for a moment he found his self growing impatient. Pushing down on his knees he lifted his self up from his sitting position. "I'm going to go and ask when we're leaving..." He looked to Harlow and gave a slight smile as if to say 'I'll be back'
He walked a bit closer to see the two talking, with a smile he began to close in to ask them... Only to.... to...
Valcrist quickly turned around and pretended he wasn't there and walked away. Looking a bit red, and feeling a bit awful.

Chelsea nudged Kelvin softly. "Come on, you. We should start heading back. Don't want the group to leave without us." She giggled and started back towards the house, humming happily as she went. Maybe this thing with Kelvin was the right thing to do after all. Karina would still be her best friend and everything would work out. Once the two had made their way back to the horse, the archer smiled at the novice and the new archer. "We're gonna get ready to go. Merio! We're heading out, come on!"
Chelsea then turned to the open field and whistled loudly. Spirit quickly came hurrying towards her, stopping just before it would have hit her. She petted her happily. She then turned to Valcrist and gave him another smile. "Would you like to ride with me?" She figured it would be easier for Spirit to carry the two of them rather than both archers. "Unless you'd rather walk, of course."

His face was still red, and his thoughts blazed as he returned to his sitting spot. Obvious. I totally missed all the signs. I just met her anyways, I shouldn't get so... No I'll just pretend nothing ever happened. Kelvin and Chelsea huh? The first girl I meet that shows any interest in me at all turns out to be in a relationship with my boss' son. Figures, a more handsome horse rider fits more then a weird kid from the desert... Even as he tried to rationalize everything, he still felt embarrassed and... a bit sad.
The two came around and Valcrist failed to acknowledge them. Chelsea smiled at him and offered him a ride, most likely just being nice... Still, even if she wasn't doing it one purpose, it felt almost like... she was teasing him. "I'll... pass. I'm good at walking, I've been doing nothing else since now."

Chelsea's smile faltered a little bit. She had been hoping to get to know the novice better. Had she done something to offend him? She sighed. Oh well. The jumped up onto Spirit she petted her mane softly before looked down again. "Are you sure? I really don't mind. And it's a far walk from here." As she talked, she adjusted the quiver on her back and fastened her bow to it. She was really getting used to riding on a horse with a weapon in hand, but felt like it wouldn't be needed right now. When she finished she smiled down at him again and offered him a hand up.

He looked away from the archer girl, a bit ashamed. He didn't really wanna get up there with her, he felt awkwardly horrible enough... but he didn't want to seem rude either. He rubbed pat the horse for a minute with a smile, this was a good horse he could tell. He wasn't into horses like his employers, but he's been around them more then enough lately to tell a good horse from a bad. He smiled for a moment before looking back at her. "Erm, I've never ridden a horse." He said. Both true and an excuse.
But... "I... Guess it wouldn't hurt." He said, embarrassed over everything. Taking her hand he got up on the horse's back. He ignored the little flush of emotion he had when he touched her hand, knowing very well who she was with... Even if he felt awkward now... He would have to face it sometimes, especially if he's going to be traveling with her. Atleast that's what he told himself.

Chelsea pulled Valcrist up onto Spirit and helped him get settled behind her. "You may want to wrap your arms around me if you've never ridden before. That when when we start off you don't fall." She smiled back at him. "And don't be afraid to put anything of yours in Spirit's bags. I don't often use them, but they can be useful on longer rides."
The archer gave a pause and then got an idea. "Hey, how about while we wait for everyone to get ready, I have Spirit walk just around here so you can get used to riding!" And without waiting for an answer, she nudged her horse, who started around in a big circle.

He was sitting behind her, and that was a good thing or else she'd see how flustered he was. Valcrist didn't really have much experience with people, let alone girls, so he wasn't exactly sure what to say or do. She was in a relationship with Kelvin that much... that much he was sure of. Still, it shouldn't stop him from trying to make friends should it? Just a friend, nothing more, right?
It's ok, I'll be fine. I... Just met her anyway, so all of this is unwarranted. It's just... I guess it's the sudden crushing of any chance I could ever have that's making me feel like this. Not actual feelings. Still... Once again he tried to rationalize everything away, he tried to make sense of it all. He still felt like she was teasing him, even though he knew that she couldn't of been doing it on purpose. "It's... It's o-ok." He said, slightly stuttering. He'd have to pass on the arm wrapping, Kelvin would drive a spear through his head.
She told her horse to move gently, so he could get a hang of riding it. It felt a little weird, but he was a quick learner. "Erm, so... um... You're an archer?" He tried to make small talk, noticing her archer's bow. A Sacaen nomad, or atleast it seemed that way. She looked natural on the horse, though he wondered if she could shoot from horseback. That sounded incredibly difficult. "I've help make bows before." He mused. None like the one she used, simple and functional. No he helped make elegantly curved bows with engravings and gems. Sometimes they turned out gaudy, but usually they exuded an air of grace that most people couldn't even perfect...

Chelsea perked up at this. "Really? You have? That's so cool!" Her father had had some amazing looking bows, that he said here special made for him. She had always wanted one, but he took them when he had left and she had no idea where they'd be now. She sighed but recovered quickly. "And yes, I am an archer." She paused, a hand playing with Spirit's mane. "Maybe you could make me one sometime. I'd love to have a elegant bow. My father had some and I was always envious." She smiled over he shoulder to him.
Then another thought came to her. She turned forward again, but this time drew her bow and an arrow. Steadying herself, she knocked the arrow and aimed around. She smiled again. She could get the hang of this. Forgetting Valcrist was on Spirit with her for a moment, she urged the horse faster. She wanted to see how fast she could go while doing this. For anyone watching, or riding with her especially, it would probably be nerve racking to see her riding around at increasing speeds and not holding on with either hand.

"Maybe if I ever get to forge I could take a shot at it..." While the actual metalwork may not be the finest, he could design the bow specifically for her. He excelled at that part, he could design weapons and plan out exactly how they should look before hand. He was good at the engraving, he was good at the coloring of the steel, what he needed work on the most was the actual forging. His weapons were great to look at, less so to use. A sharp blade will always be sharp, but his weapons tended to break easier then their no-nonsense counterparts.
"Maybe your blacksmith friend can help me and we can work together?" He mused. If he could get help, maybe it will be good to use and look at. He smiled back at her, then she suddenly decided to try some horseback archery, or atleast it seemed that way. She drew her bow and looked around with an arrow knocked. Then, as if she forgot about him and his noviceness, she made her horse speed up. If he had been ready, maybe this wouldn't of been bad, but he wasn't. Instead he was used to the low speed and felt like he was going to get thrown off, instinctively he grabbed on to whatever he could. In this case it happened to be the cute archer girl's waist...

When Chelsea felt Valcrist's arms wrap around her, she almost jumped. She had completely forgotten he was there. She felt bad about it, she'd have to apologize after. For now, she kept her concentration focus on a part of fence coming up. She sped towards it, firing an arrow when she thought was right. With a thud, the arrowed embedded itself in the wooden fence, only a little bit off from where she had been aiming. Pretty happy with the result, she brought Spirit back down to a trot. It was then she looked over her shoulder to Valcrist. "I'm so sorry about that. You must be terrified. I got so caught up in the chance to train, I didn't even think about your feelings." She gave a little bow. "Please, accept my apologizes. It was careless of me."

As the horse slowed, he suddenly realized what he was doing and instantly stopped, returning his hands his side. He coughed a bit nervously but took a moment to calm down."N-nice sh-shot." He stuttered out, clearing his throat to try to get the stuttering out. "Erm, it's ok. Just please don't do it again. I almost fell off..." He laughed a little bit, not that it was particularly funny or anything. It was more awkward then anything. He just hoped Kelvin didn't try to impale him, he wasn't likely to able to defend himself from a trained fighter with nothing but Fang.
"That reminds me. I wanted to show you my sword, so you could see what kind of work I can do... Though I don't think right now's the best time." He said, holding the cloth on the end of his sword. "Maybe later once we get to your camp?"

"I'm fine, thanks." His hand ached, but it wouldn't last long. The cold water calmed the pain, anyway. "You be careful yourself with that hammer. A blow with that will probably hurt more than an over-sized ball of fire."
"I...thought I had read enough from the book already, but apparently I was wrong. Plus, I never thought that this book would be that strong." He had just taken his hand out of the water, and opened the tome with his still-healthy hand. There were some notes(almost as if scribbled post-printing) at the bottom of the last page. "Be sure to hold the flame at least half a meter away from any body part. NOTE: Half a meter is roughly 3/4 of the length of an average sword"
"Damn it. Could have said so before." Noon was close by. Hopefully Kelvin, Merio and Chelsea would return before then.
