A few inquiries around the clinic had told Harlow that Gabriel had gone back to the castle to speak with the Marquess again, so the archer decided to head in that direction in the hopes of running into the second-in-command. Within a few minutes, Harlow found himself at the gates of the castle with a pair of burly-looking guards staring him down.
"Excuse me," he began, "but I'd like to pass through here."
The smaller of the two gatekeepers eyed him indifferently and barked, "And your reason?"
"Er, I need to see my superior officer, Gabriel, who is in there somewhere. I'm with the Lycian Army under Lucy Belmont, you see..."
The larger guard spoke up, "We've orders not to let any of her troupe through here save herself and her second."
Harlow tried once more, "Well, look, I have some information that might be pertinent to whatever it is he and the Marquess are discussing in there, so if one of you could just escort me to him - "
"Look, kid, we've got orders. You'll have to wait here until your man comes out."
Harlow sighed, exasperated. "Why the discourteous change of policy? A whole posse of our soldiers came through here just yesterday."
"Yeah, and then an entire building collapsed the same day." The big guard gave him what was probably meant to be a knowing look.
"Sorry, but Maz here has a point, and our orders come direct from the Marquess. Don't worry, I'm sure your friend will be out in just a minute. His Highness is in no mood to talk to you people just now."
These guys seriously weren't going to let him in. Harlow gave a resigned shrug and thanked the guards before taking up a post a little ways further down the road, leaning against a tree and waiting for Gabriel to emerge. He had to know that Etruria was behind Chester's actions, and if that was the case, who knew if they were pulling the Marquess' strings as well?
(OOC: Pointless post is somewhat pointless, but SOMEBODY needed to post something)

"Glad to hear that...and thanks for the support" Gabriel said with a smile. "I guess it is better if we head back to the clinic to gather the troops and talk with Lucy. She might have an idea of what to do."
He mounted Starlight, and just as he was to head to the castle gate, he turned around, a curious look on his face. "Did you get in here the way I think you did...? You should leave the same way, to avoid any problems." He turned around again, and rode out of the castle as the guards opened the gates.
It was not long after that when he came across Harlow, who stepped onto the road as soon as he saw the mage going his way. "Harlow, is anything the matter?" Gabriel asked, stopping Starlight.

Grinning, Saffra nodded as she agreed with Gabriel that if she went out the front door with him, that may cause a certain stir. She gave a bow of her head as he continued on, and made her way discreetly towards the same wall she had jumped over not long ago. Rolling her neck as she approached it, letting herself loosen up, with a final look around her, she allowed her wings to form, and then with a great amount of strength, leaped with a powerful flap of her wings, taking her just over the wall, and then ascended slowly, gliding down as gently as she could.
Landing in a crouch, she made her way towards the gates, and caught up to Gabriel with a brisk jog. Still, that grin prevailed n her lips, and then turned to look at Harlow with a raised eyebrow, wondering exactly what the archer was doing here, of all places. She wasn't in much of a place asking, not like she had some sort of authority here.
"Gabriel, I'm not sure what more to do here from my end. I think it'd be best if I went and found Rayl, and told him all that has happened here."

It wasn't too much longer before Gabriel emerged from the castle and had made his way over to Harlow, along with Saffra. "Harlow, is anything the matter?" Gabriel had asked. Also, Saffra had said something about leaving - Harlow gave her a curious look, but now was not the time to pry, especially with Gabriel's question hanging in the air.
"Ah, Gabriel!" Harlow responded. "Just who I wanted to see. And in answer to your question, and considering the friendly reception I got by the guards - and you seem to have gotten from the Marquess - yes, there very well may be something wrong..." With that, Harlow filled Gabriel in on all he'd learned from Trist, finishing up by saying, "If this mysterious man from Etruria was able to sway Sir Chester, then I wonder if he also has found his way into the mind of Marquess Laus. It would explain a few things, I think, though I wonder why in the world Laus would agree to it. Maybe the attack at the school was a convenient reason for not offering us aid? I'm afraid I just don't see the larger picture here..."

Gabriel listened to both, and once Harlow finished, he decided to start speaking.
"If that's what you think you should do, then go ahead. I have no idea where he could have gone after visiting Arphen, but good luck with the search. You know where to look if you want to find us later."
That said, he turned back to Harlow. "The marquess seemed oblivious to the entire matter. It is possible that Chester did it all behind his back. And even if he and the marquess were both involved in this, there's nothing we can do about it."
"We should talk to Lucy to see what she thinks about the entire situation. I believe we should send most of the troops back to Pherae to inform the marquess of everything we know so far, and move towards Ostia. We need to know what really happened."

Smirking, Saffra gave Gabriel a sort of half bow, and then fixed her clothes. Her eyes leveled with Harlow since he shot that look of question to her, and only managed a shrug back for him. her mind went from idea to idea, knowing that Rayl had went to Bern, but not the way he managed to...though really, she had an idea of the easiest way to go.
Tugging at the embroidered cloth that went around one of her leg like a dress, but the slit ran up along the other, revealing it to be bare aside from the brown boots, she shrugged a little at Gabriel too, as she wet her lips.
"He was heading to Bern, so he probably passed through Sacae for convenience. He should be in Bern just yet, so he should be easy to find."
Nodding, she gave another bow to the two of them, trying to see like an underling infront of the guards and people about.
"I'll go make ready for my journey. I'll come back as soon as I can, you may need me."
Smirking, she took off as a brisk walk, blending into the crowd of people, and then disappearing down the street, back to the clinic, where her things had been gathered. She needed her bag, and her staff.

Ostia... Harlow wasn't sure he was ready to go back there, especially if Kazak was still stationed there - that meant the possibility of having to fight his old friends. But if Lucy or Gabriel gave the order, he'd go. He was through running from his duties.
In response to the news concerning the Marquess, he added "Either way, I don't like the idea of it. Who knows what other opposition we'll run into within our own borders?" Huh. He'd only been with this group for a matter of days, but already he could tell that its purpose was much graver than any other's he'd been in before.
To change the subject, we questioned out loud, "Is Saffra really leaving? A pity - I feel as though I'd just met her... And I should have liked to become more familiar with one of her... kind." He avoided the word dragon in public. He'd heard stories about dragons before, and he'd always been a little disturbed by them, thinking that if he ever met one it would be like the fearsome, hateful creatures depicted by the bards and storytellers back home. But Saffra had showed him a side of dragons he'd never heard about before. Even if she left, it had been good to learn that much from her.

Gabriel nodded as Saffra bowed. "I don't like it either, Harlow, but there really is nothing we can do about it, other than be on our guard." He spaced out for a few seconds, before he continued talking. Something bothered him. Just what was Rayl doing...?
"It seems that way. We are in no position to stop her. I just hope she doesn't run into trouble. We better get going. We have to inform the group of the current situation." He pulled lightly on the rains, as he always did when he wanted Starlight to walk forward. Gabriel didn't like the idea of kicking horses to get them moving. They weren't slaves, but companions.
"The faster we get out of here, the better. We have no idea what the marquess will do after the recent events, and I certainly don't want to be here when he decides. We could be arrested or...killed for what we did." It shouldn't take them more than a few minutes to get back to the clinic.
OoC: For the record, Harlow, there have only been 5 known dragons in this world thus far. Aerious, as he assaulted a city in Bern. Then Aeros and Hargus' Dark Dragon, who fought during the last battle the past arc, and now Saffra and Marcus. So...chances are few people have heard of them. Nobles everywhere probably know that they still exist, but most people will only have heard rumors.

Chelsea gave a great stretch as she walked with Kelvin and Valcrist before giving them both a big smile. "This has been really fun. But I think we should start heading back to the clinic." She gave a knowing nod. "It's probably a good idea to check in. Plus I can't imagine this place is too happy with us right now, we kinda did destroy a school. Depending on how talks with the Marquess go, we maybe have to leave quickly. And we don't wanna get left behind. Nope nope!" With another smile, the archer started back toward the clinic.

Kelvin nodded and said, "I agree, let's get going." He then turned his head to Val, "We should do this again sometime. I'd like to get to know you. After all we are traveling together, and you did take such good care of my family's horses." Kelvin nodded at the boy and they continued on.

Chelsea smiled happily as Kelvin made an attempt to get closer to Val. It was nice to see her boyfriend trying to become friends with her friends. She skipped along happily in front of the two as they talked, humming softly to herself. As they got closer to the clinic, Chelsea saw Spirit and hurried over to her and start to pet her mane. It was always relaxing just to take some time and pet her favorite horse. She looked back towards the two as she did so, another smile growing on her lips. She didn't know how long it would last, but for now she was happy again.

Yaen yawned and shifted so that he was lying on the bench. "Maybe I'll take a nap." he considered. And he was full ready to follow up on that plan when the drago-manakete passed by. Sitting up, he twisted into a proper position and kicked up onto his feet. "Excuse me." he called, setting a hand on the manakete womans shoulder. "Can I speak to you?"

As she was moving down the street, she was a little surprised when the Sacaen from before caught her shoulder, enough so that she gave a slight jump as she halted, and a wince, for her she still ached at the sudden stop, but other than the wince, she showed no actual sign of injury. Looking to him with her narrow pupils and yellow eyes, she briefly flashed him a smile, and turned to face him.
"Oh, it's you...I believe I have a moment, what is it you want to talk about?"
Straightening out her garments, she weighed a look at Yaen that showed interest and only that. In her head, she minded about what to pack, as far as food and supplies were concerned, as well as the staff that she carried around more seldom of late.

Yaen removed his hand from the dragons shoulder. "I just wanted to apologize for any misunderstandings I might have caused at our last meeting." he replied. "Mainly concerning this." A gesture to his Wyrm Slayer. "I want to assure you, I did not buy this blade to slay dragons." he stated. "I bought it to protect myself from the Wyvern Riders of Bern."

Saffra seemed a bit surprise that the man even brought it up again. Her gaze followed to the sword, and grimaced, but really, she didn't treat it much differently than that of his other two. It did seem a little silly for the man to be traveling with a few weapons on him at all times like that, but she kept her mouth shut, since it clearly was none of her business.
"Oh! No no, don't worry about my feelings on it Sir. I can understand the need for protection...so don't think I feel any ill will towards that weapon...there are much greater weapons I fear."
Saffra gave a light laugh, but she was grimly serious. There were weapons much more dangerous than the Wyrmslayer...the sacred weapons were what she meant. Sighing a bit, she shook her head, which allowed her long violet curls sway from shoulder to shoulder, and proceeded to give a bit of a bow, finding herself utterly foolish.
"You know, I don't think I know your name..so allow me introduction. I am Saffra...I'd give you my full name, but that would be rude, since most others do not know the full of it."
Chuckling, she tugged on a wavy bit of hair that dangled infront of her eye, and allowed it to linger for the time being.
