Syana couldn't help but suppress a groan. All that walking and all that rain for nothing? Oh, Saturos was lucky they were in a public area or she would have it him. Maybe she would later in their room, she wasn't sure yet. Then he asked if she was gonna keep going with him. She was a little torn. She normally liked to travel by herself and she hadn't had a pay job in sometime, but on the other hand she liked Saturos. He was fun to be around. Most of the time anyway. "I guess I'll stay with you, for now." She poked his arm. "But you're gonna owe me."

It looked like all that man's plans came screeching to a halt. Aidan almost felt bad about it, to be honest. Then again it's best he learns of it before heading in blindly, as that is a nice way to catch the death. The girl, on the other hand, seemed frustrated. Probably because of him dropping their mission.
"I'm afraid I'm not doing anything special." Aidan shrugged his heavily armored shoulders, "Just going to the capital of Bern to see a relative." He grabbed his bearded chin and let out a small 'hmm' of thought. "There's two people with me right now. A woman named Aevian, and a jolly giant named Lyar. In fact... You might want to talk to him. He traveled with Richter personally before I came around. He'll probably know a lot more about the man and how he's doing then me..."
Aidan looked Saturos over. He didn't seem like a bad person, and he usually was a pretty good judge of character. Something he traded for silly things like 'social graces' that were useless for soldiers. He couldn't imagine the man suddenly trying to stab him in the back while he wasn't looking, which was more then he could say about the other stranger he met that day. "If you're going that way, you're free to come along. I don't mind. I'm in a bit of a hurry though, and leaving as soon as the rain clears. Which should be tomorrow by the look of the clouds..." Hopefully.
He didn't really want to stick around in that town any longer then he had to. He already created more attention to his self then he wanted in the arena. It'd be best to leave as soon as possible.

Saturos gave Syana a grin and a pat on the shoulder before turning back to Aidan.
"No, it's fine," the swordsman replied to Aidan's suggestion that he talk to the jolly blue giant of a man over at the table. "Considering I have no plans of getting into some mess of a war in Sacae, I'm fine just knowing the kid's alive." Saturos shrugged slightly. He'd also had enough of war during his time in Bern. Sword fighting was one of the myrmidon's only hobbies, but the carnage one found in war he found extremely distasteful.
"We're headed nowhere in particular, so wherever you're headed is our new destination it seems," Saturos replied. He finished off his second beer, and popping off the cap of his third bottle with a quick, skilled rap on the edge of the counter, began drinking his third. Not just a sword-scholar, Saturos was also skilled in the art of drinking, which made his resistance to alcohol advantageous. He glanced out the window. "If you want to wait until the rain clears up, then fine. We've been walking for quite a few days now, and I could use some down time."
Saturos glanced at the soldier, before looking back out the window at the rain, the pitter-patter of the drops creating a calming rhythm on the stone and glass. "You said you were fighting alongside Richter in Sacae. What brings a clearly non-Sacaen man to Sacae through a battlefield and then down to Bern?"

"Well, the inn's running a little low on rooms because of the recent tournament in the coliseum." He thought back to when he rented his room, and the special exception made for him. Not to mention it's raining, and more then a few people would of hurried back to spend the night as opposed to walking through that mush. "But I'm sure we'll be able to figure something out. You can stay in my room if you need to, I have no qualms sleeping on the floor if it comes to it." Infact, with how he's been sleeping lately, it could even be preferable to a bed. They were too comfortable... or something. Besides those two have been walking for days, they deserved a nice bed.
"Ah, that..." Saturos asked the magic question, and he quickly had to decide just how much information was 'enough' to satisfy things. "I'm visiting my sister in the capital, she sent a letter about two weeks ago. I was holed up in Araphen under martial law for one of those weeks however. I didn't get freed until Sir Rayl came along, then on our way to Bern we got swept up in a little war." That should be enough. "It's been nothing but delays since I got that letter, that's why I'm in a hurry. I'd try to go through the rain if I wasn't afraid I'd rust." That was a joke.

Where had Lyar been this whole time? Well he had stayed out of Aidan's conversation, giving off an abnormal aura of indifference and intimidation...different from Aidan's description...but hey, when the big man wasn't being all happy or saying anything: he was pretty scary. Soon after, he rose, mummbling something about business he needed to attend to ( what business? None.) And stepped outside.
Why? Because he loved the rain, truly he did. When you are out at sea it's the last thing you wanted, but on land...the feel of the rain against your skin and the faint 'ting' as the drops smash against your armor...it was like his own private orchestra. Sure Mavick always whined that staying out in the rain for too long would make you sick, but then again Brother always whined about everything, thus the jolly blue giant ( OOC: loving the description BTW) just sort of stood out there for awhile, looking like a gargoyle with a large grin on it's face, before coming back inside after he was sure a fair enough time had passed...and when he was soaking wet.
Once back inside, he took a seat at the bar, holding up two fingers and calling for warm ales ( hence two fingers), and just sat there waiting with a big smile on his face: quite different from
One of them was a tiny woman garbed in red with hair to match, and the other guy...kinda reminded him of Commander Abe- Richter, had the same kind of look in his eye: the glance of a warrior. Upon arrival of the drinks, he paused, debating on whether to chug them like he usually would, before sliding one over for the red haired lady, the other to Saturos," A Warm Ale is great on a cool, rainy night like this...well, it's certainly better than grog on a ship on a night like this!" he ordered himself two more, and sat content for awhile, before looking to Aidan for a moment, then back to the other two," So you're traveling with us then? Welcome aboard!"
He resisted the urge to clank glasses with them...the last time he did that resulted in someone losing an eye due to glass shrapnel...power control was still a slight problem for him.

Saturos waved his hand dismissively. "Why sir, I could never be so rude as to take your bed. The floor would be nice enough for me. I'm a nature man anyways," he said courteously. He glanced at Syana. "My rusty sense of chivalry tells me that Syana should be the one to get the bed if not you."
After listening to Aidan's story, Saturos decided it was exciting enough to travel with the armored man. After all, who wanted to travel with somebody boring? It was then that the giant man with the bright blue haired sat down at the bar with a thud. The man was so large that just sitting down sent reverberations through the floor, and thus through the stools they were sitting on. Most people probably would have jumped up in shock, but not the myrmidon. If anything, he was just interested.
Saturos had finished his third beer, so the ale the man slid over was welcome. Giving Lyar a nod, he took a drink of the ale. The swordsman was more of a beer person, but any alcohol was always welcome to Saturos. This bottle might even make him a bit tipsy. "So, Lyar," he said, taking a pause. "Since you're over here, Aidan here says you traveled with Richter Abend. What do you know about him?"

As the swordsman began to down his ale, he'd notice how Lyar had already downed his, and was ordering a second...and then third...Mavick always said to have alcohol in his system: something about dulling pain or something...sure that was back when Mavick was his manager in the arenas ( hey,it got them a house in Osti- oh, right.)...but he was digressing in his thoughts, as the behemoth slammed his third mug down, and let out a satisfied belch, much to the nervousness of the man on his opposite side.
Once Saturos brought up Richter, the big man leaned his elbow on the counter, resting his chin on his fist and stroking it with his thumb," Well, I can tell you this: Richty is a pretty good fighter, and for a guy who hates the prophet, he sure did a good job landing the rank of High Commander!" insert a swig from his fourth mug, giving the new waitress a friendly smile to show he was actually quite the gentle giant. Short time later he continued, "Of course, that was before we were back stabbed...it was a pretty fun fight though. At some point that Sir Rayl from Pherae came and helped out. Not sure if you want my opinion or news of him though..." downing his fourth and reaching semi-shakily for a fifth ( the bartender wasn't going to say he had enough! Especially considering Lyar's record was nine.)," And friend, you or your friend can take my bed if you so wish...in case you haven't noticed...I'm a bit too...big...for them."

Syana stayed mostly silent during all the talking. She just sat there and drank her one beer. She wasn't much for drinking, but after all that rain walking she needed it. Plus, by the looks of it, one of them was gonna need to be able to help find the room after. As both the armored guy and the huge guy both offered beds, she was slightly torn. She would feel bad taking someone else's bed and didn't like being in someone's debt, but after all that walking a bed would be nice. Maybe the floor wouldn't be too bad. That way it would kinda sorta be other. It was really up to Saturos, though. In the meantime she just sipped her bear and hoped neither of the big guys fell on her.

"Richty?" thought Saturos, finishing his ale. Noticing Lyar working on his third ale, Saturos order two more beers. The glass bottles, still steaming with evaporating condensation, quickly met the swordsman's lips. "Seems like he's in quite the pickle," restated Saturos, downing the first beer. He grabbed the next one. "Glad to see he's not in league with the Prophet. Never liked him much anyways. Rayl's a much more stand up guy, if what I've heard is true." The tales of Rayl the Great spread far and wide, and wanders like Saturos got quite an earful of heroic tales.
The Etrurian turned to Syana. "I'm going to sleep on the floor," he said, nodding his head towards Aidan and Lyar. "If you want, you can hop into a bed."

"Soft beds hurt my back." Aidan stated, working a kink out of his neck. "Too comfortable. I'm a man who needs to lay on something hard or I'll go crazy." He remembered all those nights camping, all those hard beds in the barracks, and how he struggled to sleep in those feather soft beds back in his manor. How anyone could sleep without any stiff substance supporting them is something that's been lost to him for many years. He pushed on his neck, craning his arm around and hearing slight cracks as his body moved.
"You can take my bed." He looked at the mostly quiet red headed girl. "I won't be using it." He had a lot to think about. His time at the Arena, his new facial accessory, and Mr. X... he'd be lucky if he got any sleep at all regardless of his bed. "I'm heading up. It's room 107, the two-bed suite." A suite... geez, what was he? A noble?

"Aye, from what I heard, Sir Rayl...the Great, never heard that one before, tries to solve things more peacefully than Richter...as to how they became friends as to how they aren't at each others' throats when it comes to tactics I don't know..."
As Saturos got up, he would soon find a massive hand plant itself gently, but firmly, on his shoulder," Now now, my friend, I INSIST you take my bed. I've lived on a god forsaken privateer ship for so long I can't actually sleep in them...they don't rock back and forth, ya know? Besi- BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEELCH"
People stared, and he sorta just stood there awkwardly for awhile, rocking back and forth on his heels before uttering a 'pardon me' before continuing,"Besides, it's good to show hospitality towards ones new companions. Good night then." with this, in a manner truly befitting of no one but Lyar: he walked outside into the rain, and shut the door behind him.
Was he drunk? Well kind of, but he was still thinking clearly: he just loved the rain, that's all...oh, that and he was already invited to stay over with a nice family for supper at a house down the street...he had sorta forgotten about the inn until...well, until he saw it again.

Syana finished her beer then looked over at Saturos. She had no idea how he could drink that much and still look fine. She knew there had to be a little bit lost, though, and that most likely she'd have to at least partially help him up to the room, or rooms. Whichever. With a stretch, she slid off her stool and over to where her stuff laid. After gathering them up, she made her way back over to Saturos and put her hand on his shoulder. "Come on, big guy. Time for some sleep."

"Hmm?" asked Saturos absentmindedly. A alcoholic haze was starting to form around his thoughts and his vision. "Oh right, bed. Yeah, let's go." The myrmidon got off of his stool. "You know," he said to Syana, "you look very pretty right now. The alcohol really brings out your eyes." He then waved a hand at Lyar, who had just vomited all over the floor and marched outside into the rain. It took Saturos a few seconds to see anything wrong with that. "Maybe I've had one too many beers..." he thought.
Turning to Aidan, he raised an eyebrow. "So where's the big guy's room? I guess I'm taking his bed." Sleeping on the floor was a matter of courtesy for Saturos, not necessity like the other men. If Lyar wasn't going to use his bed, by all means, he'd take it.

Syana felt a slight blush creep over her face but didn't say anything about it. "Come on, Casanova. Let's get you up to any bed, the big guy's or the knight's. You need some sleep to get this over with." She hefted him up and slung his arm over her to help get him up the stairs. She gave a look at Aidan. "Could you lead the way? Thanks." Man, he is heavier than he looks...

Aidan would of offered his help, if it wasn't for the fact that it would probably be a bit creepy for a complete stranger of a guy carrying off another guy into his room wait that came out wrong. Instead he looked at the red headed girl, Syana Saturos had said. "Of course, it's this way." He stopped as he was walking away and allowed them time to catch up. It would be nice to get some sleep, after a day like today. He bet the floor in his room was probably softer then some of the other beds in this place, so it wasn't even a losing situation.
"It's right over here. Room 107."
