Tionne felt the surge of adrenaline leave his body, draining him as well as the cost of magic did; he'd never tried making a manifestation out of his magic, so the successful attempt had drained him severely. Panting, Tionne pulled out his vulnerary and nibbled on one of the leaves to gain some stamina back before turning to face the shaman. "That was amazing. I have to admit, I never, in all my life, have seen such mastery of magic at this level of study. I would normally expect a sage, bishop, or a druid to be able to do that kind of mastery, but to be a shaman and do such..." Tionne stopped, realizing that he was rambling like an idiot. After taking a moment to compose himself again, he spoke with much more eloquence. "Sorry; I tend to ramble when I get nervous or excited. I suppose full introductions are in order. My name is Tionne, and I am a monk going to the holy city of Delfia." Walking over to the only bandit still alive, he crouched down and said "Why would you want to rob me in the first place? I am rather penniless and have nothing of value, short of my tome Lightning." The bandit stuttered for a few moments and then said clearly "We were told by our boss that someone in the church didn't want you to reach Delfia; all we had to do was steal your tome and keep you from leaving the village area." Pausing, he looked up at the shaman standing behind Tionne. "But the shaman wasn't part of the deal; we had no idea that he was gonna show up at all."

Once the bandit trailed off, the scene was quiet. The stillness of the moment took place. Death was all around the room, and the two were truly affected were Tionne and that worthless husk of a sentient being, in Shadow's eyes. Still, the bandit continued to stare at the dark mage, with a look of fear and confusion. Being so apathetical to ruffians, he almost wanted to laugh right in the thief's face. Almost.
After a few seconds of silence, Shadow began to speak to the bandit. The shaman had no kind words for the ruffian. His voice continued to have an edge of iced steel, and a hint of malevolency.
"Of course you didn't expect me. Who would? Until now, my existence was unknown to the majority of the world, and still is. But that is not why you are alive. While I would so gladly dispose of you right here, I won't. It is clear now that this man of the church serves a purpose not only to his faith, but someone else. So, make it easy on yourself, and just answer this question; Who’s your boss, and where is he now?"

OOC: (i just felt like making a conspiracy; if that is against the rules, I'm sorry. I just felt that a conspiracy that my character stumbled upon would be really cool.)
BIC:Gulping rather audibly, the bandit looked away, then looked at the monk with what seemed fear in his eyes. "We were hired by a bishop who resides in the villa near the church you served, holy man. He promised us that if you were stopped, he'd give us enough gold so we could live like kings." Tionne stared at the man for a second before asking "Do you remember what he looked like? His name, maybe?" The bandit didn't know, but the monk feared he already knew the answer to his question. "Um, I dunno what his name was, but he was kinda frail lookin'. He had yellowish eyes, and yellow hair; said that if we failed to kill you, we were to tell you that he knows about what you found, and wants you to stop what you're doing."

Tionne stared at the bandit for a moment before collapsing in on himself; drawing his knees to his chest, he sat for a few moments before speaking. "Shaman, you may not want to get involved in this; these bandits were probably the first of many. The bishop he speaks of, the one wanting to stop my journey, is Bishop Lune of the Third Order." After pausing to take a deep breathe, he continued. "In case you didn't know, the church is divided into three orders; each one is named after the types of magic. The dark order is headed by Seer Eriz; the anima order by Mage Knight Tao; and the light order, obviously, by Bishop Lune. "I had served under Bishop Lune as his student as his assistant, until I discovered that he had plans to attack the other schools of magic and control them with other students of his. I balked against the order and decided to report him to Prophet Kraft; after he found out that I left, he must have decided to either have me killed or stopped at any costs." Sighing, he turned to look at his rescuer/temporary ally. "You may want to leave me now, so I don't get you killed over something you don't need to get involved in on my account. I don't want anyone to be harmed on my behalf."

OoC: Character-made plots have always been accepted. Heck, it's about time Shadow will be able to mess with other magic users.
BiC: Within the darkness of his hood, Shadow stared at the bandit, listening to Tionne. As the dark mage listened, he looked down upon the now sniveling man. No, to Shadow, that moving carcass wasn't even a man. That thing was nothing more than a nuisance to the world. Shadow had a hate towards the men who hurt the innocent. It struck a nerve that was buried deep inside the darkness.
Shadow looked up from his examination of the ruffian. He spoke in his dark voice, but this time, with a hint of empathy. "Something tells me you probably need help if you want to live. Besides, I've acted as a body guard for many people before. It will be no different."
Saying that brought up painful memories of his first companions. Granted, they were new at the experience, and did not know what they were getting into. Still, seeing your former acquaintances die in battle one after the other hurt. It would even be scarring, but being the harsh man he was, Shadow saw it as a big mistake. Almost everything about that was a mistake.
Leera...
Without saying any more, Shadow preformed what he believed was humane. He took out his Flux tome, and looked down upon the bandit. As the shaman began a long, and much more focused spell of darkness, the bandit began to beg. "No... Aw, no, please. For pity sake, 'ave some mercy! Please, mercy! MERC!" He was then cut off by the sudden darkness that consumed him, ending his life. Shadow didn't even flinch.

Tionne stared at the bandit's body with, surprisingly, no emotion showing on his face. Standing up, he walked slowly to the dead man and closed the man's eyes. "Rest in peace, and may St. Elimine guide your spirit to the afterlife." Turning to the shaman who had helped him, Tionne took a deep breathe to steady himself before speaking. "Since I never found out your name, I will have to call you something if we are to travel together. Since you are a shaman, and you are rather powerful with your magic, I will call you Shadow; is that acceptable for you?"

After recieving no reply that it wasn't alright, Tionne shrugged and walked to the barkeep. Bowing, he said "I am terribly sorry for destroying your pub, sir. If there is any form of restitution I can give you, please, don't hesitate to let me know." Pausing to check his satchel for money, he saw that he had very little to give the man. "Um, I can't pay you, though."
"Aw, don't ya worry about a thing. Fact o' the matter is, if the two o' ya hadn't fought them, then I woulda had ta serve them free drinks for the rest o' my life. If the two of ya need anythin', lemme know. As for my pub, don't worry 'bout it." Turnin' to Shadow, the barkeep continued. "And don't ya even dare try and leave any money on my counter, young man. I won't take it if ya do." After that, the barkeep simply turned around and left them to talk.
Tionne chuckled a little at the strange man. "Never in my life have I ever met a man who refused money for restitution." The monk turned to his new "friend" and sat on the counter. "So, Bishop Lune knows I know about his plot, huh? My guess is, he'll send another team after me, and they'll have a few magic wielders as well. I need to get to Delfia, or at the very least, get to Seer Eriz and Mage Knight Tao. If I can get to them, then I can plead my case and ask for protection from Bishop Lune's atrocious acts."

Shadow remained standing for the time. He was taken back by how Tionne came up with his name. It was very odd. No one in Shadow's entire life could have ever done that successfully. If they did try to come up with a name on their own, it was generally related to death.
The shaman listened as the monk spoke after the barkeeper. His analysis on his own situation was good. However, there was something that Shadow was catching on to. Each of these 'magical leaders' focused on each offensive types of magic. However, each magic had a either a strength or a weakness to the other magics. Would the same go towards these orders?
Shadow began to speak in his quiet yet strong voice. "I believe you should try to find these leaders instead of heading to Delfia. the last time I was in Etruria, there was some trouble brewing in the capital. Still, this information may be... out of date."

Tionne nodded, having heard rumors about chaos being rampant in the streets of Delfia. "If we are going to approach the other Orders, then we'll need allies to help us. The Third Order isn't exactly known to be lax on trainings its students or its soldiers." Slouching against the wall nearest the door, Tionne sighed. "The only problem is, I don't know if anyone will be willing to help us, Shadow. Most people here in Etruria are loyal to the Third Order, and I doubt any other renegades are going to help us."

From within the darkness, Shadow's eyes lit up with an idea. Tionne was talking about Etruria alone. So if Etruria couldn't help, then maybe other people from differing countries could. Bern had always been famous for their wyvern riders, but Shadow was a shaman. Ilia was known for the mercenaries, but Alphonse was a priest. If there were people who stood out from the crowd like him, then there were bound to be others in Etruria, let alone the separate countries.
Shadow responded to Tionne's insight on the predicament. "Think about the possibilities of there being renegades. Granted, they would be difficult to find, but they're still there. Also, keep in mind, you're thinking of Etruria alone. This country is neighboring Lycia. Think on it for a bit..."
After he spoke, the shaman looked through his tome. He had always used Flux, leaving Luna alone for the time. Still, the dark mage could feel the magic much weaker than it had been before. Soon, he would have to get a new tome. That, or begin to use Luna. Perhaps it was time to start doing a new act. This made Shadow's eye brow lift upward, even if it was unseen to anyone else.

Tionne thought for a moment on what to do. They could go to Lycia, but he didn't know for sure if Lycia was the best option for them. Lycians were notorious for not trusting outsiders. Bern was another option, unfortunately Bern was a very militaristic country and Tionne didn't know if they'd be welcome there or not. "Shadow, do you know anyone in Lycia or Bern? Lycia is closer, and Bern isn't too far from there. We could travel to Lycia first and find some people there to help us. After that, we can head to Bern to find someone there to help us as well, then head back here to find Seer Eriz and Mage Knight Tao."

The thought of Bern made Shadow go into a cold sweat. It had been years, maybe even a decade, since he had been in his home land. Still, if they were to leave to Bern, they wouldn't have to find his home village. Also, no one would recognize him as long as he kept his hood on. The only feature of Shadow that could really be comparable to his mother was his white hair. His father was... a different story.
Shadow plainly replied, "No, I don't know anyone in particular. We should still search though." Lies. I know a few people, but they probably don't know me very well. Also, Alphonse is probably still in Ilia. The dark mage decided to keep his information to himself for the time being.

Tionne cocked his head at the slight catch in Shadow's voice; shrugging, he said "Then Lycia is first. Though, I don't know if I can find my way around that country..." Tionne trailed off, realizing that Shadow was staring off into space. "Shadow? Hello? Anyone there in that abyss you call a cloak?" Tionne asked, slightly chuckling at his joke. "Speaking of cloaks, you can take your hood off; you can be scarred and I won't mind." he said while holding his hand out to pull back the black hood.

What... the... hell...?
Never had a stranger been so bold as to bring their hand to his face, and remove his hood. This action was completely baffling. Shadow could not understand what drove this man to actually try to touch him in any way. The shaman was not found of any physical contact, and it seemed like Tionne did not see that. The dark mage was now under the impression that Tionne was either the bravest monk in Elibe, or the stupidest man ever to exist.
Even as the hand neared, Shadow did not budge. A part of him wanted to see if he'd really do it. Maybe he would stop an inch away, and apologize. Maybe he would do the action really quick, and pull his hand away fast. What ever he would do, Shadow decided on one thing. If the monk touched his skin, then there would be an issue. Still, he waited for Tionne's final decision, or action on the matter.

Tionne slowly pulled the hood off, and couldn't believe his eyes: Shadow was beautiful! Silvery hair, pale skin and blue-gray eyes that shone with pain, and Tionne also saw curiosity about his next actions. "Shadow, why do you hide your face? No one in the world has any right to judge you for anything." He then saw the slight tic in Shadow's jaw. Realizing his mistake, he dropped the hood and backed up. "I guess that was rude, huh? I should have known better than to do something that obviously bothers you. Please, forgive me." Walking to the door, Tionne realized the shaman was probably really pissed at him. "Um, I'm going to...get some fruit! Yeah, fruit. And...Bread!" Chuckling nervously, Tionne edged towards the door, hoping the shaman wouldn't kill him.
