Ahh... perfect, mate.
It was when the swordsman fell that Joseph made his next move. His new objective was the brigand. Even without his shirt, the thug did not look as intimidating as was desired. The sea-wolf was much bigger, and more powerful. Joseph would put that brigand back in his place.
With a push off the ground, Joseph began his charge at the enemy. Each step he made was like thunder rolling across the ocean's waves at sea. Within seconds, Joseph was practically on top of the axe wielder. He then used the momentum of his still moving body to spin his whole body in a clockwise direction, and slammed the edge of his axe into the side of the brigand. Joseph quickly jumped backward, hearing the brigand cry out in pain.
However, this bandit was stronger than the other, and would put up a fight by throwing his axe at the pirate. D*mn, a bloomen' Hand Axe. Unfortunately, Joseph was unable to dodge the attack, and had a weapon cut into his left shoulder. The wound was deep, and blood did pour down his arm. Yet, Joseph persevered through the pain. He ran at the brigand with another assault, roaring out a battle shout. The sea-wolf swung his axe from the left with both hands, hitting the exact place where the brigand was struck earlier.
The damage made by the pirate was lethal. Soon after his attack, the brigand slumped over. He was dead before his carcass hit the ground. As the dead bandit lay there, so did the swordsman. Even as he was panting heavily from the pain, the man just stared at Joseph. It was as though Fargo was completely forgotten. The sea-wolf would not intervene with the young bowman's kill. It was his and his alone.

Watching the strange man of the sea was inspiring. Even to the young man who wanted to master the bow, it seemed that the axe was now a more respectable weapon. Yet, Fargo knew that he was a man of the bow. He could not simply forget all those times he snuck out of the town to learn from his mentor. The young hunter would do no such thing.
Then, Fargo saw his chance. After Joseph had gotten done, there was an awkward calm. Even with the tension in the air, the young bowman would take the chance. He drew out and arrow, and notched it in place. Once more, Fargo pulled back the arrow, and then let go of the line. The arrow flew true into the swordsman. However, that shot would not be the last. Another howl of pain erupted from the bandit.
Suddenly, the young man felt sick to his stomach. He had to end the pain now. Fargo was not a bad person. He quickly fitted the arrow into place, and went along with the firing procedure. This time, the arrow pierced the swordsman's chest. Instead of a scream, there was a quick gasp. Then, the bandit fell back down on his back. His pain had ended, and he finally died. All this time, Fargo felt badly for the man of crime. Aww man, what would Rayl say? What would he do? I, like, totally miss him and his wisdom...

The pirate felt a relieving feeling through his body. He could relax now that the danger was over. The entire battle, Joseph was concerned for Fargo. The scallop was young, but he had a weapon. It seemed that he would be fine for the battle. Joseph looked into the young man's eyes, and did not see the same emotions that he possessed.
Fargo looked pale, and scared. A look of worry was written all over his face. At first, this concerned the sea rover. Then, he started to put the pieces together, and understood why Fargo would be like this.
Hmm... so he really is a scallop. Seems like 'e needs a bit o' talken to.
The giant man walked over to the young bowman slowly. He then proceeded to hunch down next to him, coming to eye level with him. In a gentle voice, the sea-wolf spoke to Fargo. "So... by them looks on yer face, yew 'aven't seen much o' combat in yer life, eh? If yew needs to say somethin', go ahead. Oi'll be listenen'."

Fargo suddenly could not hold in his feelings any longer. He had to let them out, or he would explode from the pressure. The young archer began speaking rapidly, sometimes slurring words.
"Like, it's so hard, ya know? I mean, the first time I fought, like, I wasso scared-ya know- and, like, it was so hard, 'cause he was yelling, and screaming, ya know? But I know he was bad-and everything, but the guy was, like, an actual person. What if, like, I didn't hurt him? But it wouldn't matter now, 'cause now I actually KILLED a guy, and-and, aww..."
Fargo buried his head in his hands. He was practically on the verge of tears. The pressure of actually killing a person was tremendous. Even with the knowledge that those men, those bandits, killed the innocent. Fargo was so confused with all these emotions running through his head. He needed someone to help. He needed a friend to be there for him.

Ack... This ain't good. I'm no good with the greenhorns. Wish someone else were 'ere to take care 'o this mess oi get meself into.
The big, muscular pirate was taken aback by the young man's expression of feelings. The sea rover was not a very sensible guy with other men. Even though Fargo was just a scallop, he still had a weapon. In a sense, the sea-wolf felt bad for Fargo.
Not sure of what else to do, Joseph did something not very pirate-like. With great care, he placed his hand on one of Fargo's shoulders, and patted him in comfort. It was what his father would have done for him, if he had ever really needed one. That or his mother would give him a hug. There was no way Joseph would have given a hug, though.
His voice was still kind, even with his gruff accent, as the pirate spoke. "Now, look 'ere, Fargo. Yew've gotta keep yerself together, mate, no matter the quarrel. Oi'll tell yer now, yew've gotta keep a good look out, eh? Now, oi can see that yer haven' a rough bout. But hold in thare. Can yew... promise me that, mate?"

Looking inot Joesph's eyes, he felt somewhat safe. Fargo simply nodded, and propped himself against the tree for support. He suddenly felt tired, not wanting to move at all. The young bowman's fatigue was returning.
In a tired voice, Fargo spoke to the pirate. "I'm just so tired... I don't want to fight for the rest of the day, okay Joseph?" As he lazily looked over to the sea rover, the young man's eyes caught something. The wound on Joseph's arm was still bleeding. Surprised, the bowman became more alert, and asked the pirate if he was alright.

"Ehh? Oh, roight matey. Almost missed that'un." Joseph turned his attention to his left arm, which was coated with blood. It was amazing how any one could have forgotten such a battle wound. Yet, it happened all the time. Joseph remembered times when he was on the brink of death, but held his own in a skirmish on the high seas. Those days, for him, were some of the best. Reaching to his side, the sea-wolf grabbed his vulnerary. He then took off the cap, and drank the liquid. As he did, Joseph realized that his healing substance was used up. Even as he felt the liquid's healing powers reach down to his arm, the pirate knew he needed more. Looking around, the sea-wolf decided it was time to leave this little scene they made. "Well, time to get goin', me hearty. Up ya go." Swiftly, the giant pirate picked up the boy, and began walking. It was still cloudy, and weather did not look like it was going to get any better. To top it off, Joseph had no idea where they would be going. Still, where ever they were to go, it was probably better than Etruria. This concludes this thread, as both Fargo and Joseph exit.
