Erasmus spun around as the red-bearded man addressed him. Although he asked about the blond-haired acolyte's beliefs, Erasmus changed the subject, his unwavering serene stare radiating in the man's eyes.
"Wouldn't it be better to introduce yourself first? It's common courtesy. I apologize for changing the subject... I don't know how to respond to that statement. My beliefs are only those pioneered by St. Elimine. Anyway, you may call me Erasmus."
The acolyte was unsure of his words, yet the sentence was executed without much hesitation. His gaze then shifted from Setsuna to this gray-vested red-bearded man.

"Erasmus, right."
Setsuna ducked her head as she opened a second book she quickly retrieved from her bag, and wrote in the name. Taking the time, she wrote in the others' names, now having the time. As she did so, she listened, peeking up now and then so the monk would know that she was indeed, paying attention. However, she didn't exactly get the chance to introduce one of them.
Looking over at Garnet once she was finished, she quickly stood from her chair, and closed the smaller book, and placed it back where it once was. Instead of Garnet explaining who he was, Setsuna took the liberty to do so.
"This is Garnet. A man I met on the road here."
That was really all she could say, she didn't know the man well enough to say a whole lot else. Her eyebrow rose a little at him, expecting more out of him perhaps, but she was curious on what he said. Setsuna;s beliefs were a touch...unorthodox compared to the main church perhaps, because she wasn't raised by the cloister, so she didn't understand what he meant fully.

Erasmus nodded at Setsuna. "Garnet... I'll remember that name." The young acolyte recalled Garnet's miniature tirade a few moments prior. I wonder what his beliefs are... evidently, he's an interesting fellow.
Erasmus then asked Setsuna to elaborate. "Forgive me if I seem imposing, but how did you meet him?"

Garnet was relaxing at his table, somewhere towards the center of the room, when the robed man at the counter said something to him. "You're a new face around here, yeah?"
"You could say that. Just stopping in for some supplies."
Another man speaking to him, from over where Setsuna was, caught his attention. He also had blond hair, and seemed to be dressed like a churchman. It seemed that he'd though Garnet's comments about having quirky beliefs had been directed at him for some reason.
He listened as Suna introduced him to the man. "Erasmus? I'm sorry, I wasn't actually speaking to you a moment ago, I was..." He indicated Nathaniel with a nod of his head.
"Truth is we only met maybe a few miles out. She, and Elias here. We were heading the same way, so we came here."

Well this place was lame. All it was was stupid light magic users talking about stupid light magic user things and stuff and no one was red at all and that depressed Elias he just wanted to bang his head on the wall over and over but that would be rude so he decided not to instead he just stood there being Eliasy. He lost his drive to be a Crimson Gourmet, he would settle for being a Crimson diner though, but that seems unlikely since it was round table discussion time in which Fluorite talked to everyone about everything and stuff. Oh yeah Garnet's new name was fluorite because Elias said so. What bothered him the most was the fact that he could just feel these people where going to accompany him and Fluorite and Sunny. Sunny was fine, she was so sunny and also kinda cute for a magic using lady person since Elias never sees those anymore. He though him and her would become rivals who would fight about things all the time because of opposing viewpoints and stuff like all good heroes have. A foil for them, but nooo now there's two more light magic people who just blah blah blah about Elimine and stuff what's so great about her Elias was awesome too why didn't he have a religion? Well there was that one time, but that didn't end well, and it took a month before his eyebrows grew back. Stupid touchy acolytes, or was it monks? He couldn't remember.
"I'm fine Flo." He grumbled as Fluorite said something to him, but it wasn't really important since he already left to talk to someone else before he could respond talk about rude who does that it's just inconsiderate. "Sigh" Elias sighed in words to show his extreme levels of sighdom. No one said anything, but Elias has read enough adventure novels to know that when someone talks to someone else at the bar and stuff like what just happened, they are sure to join the man in whatever silly quest he was on. Elias was a follower right now, not a leader, it kinda bummed him out. Stupid Flo, having to steal all the spotlight. Then again Elias didn't really want any of this religious crap but he couldn't say that outloud because the guards think the best way to get people to go to church is to kill anyone who doesn't. Stupid Etruria, he wanted to go to Nabata right about now. Deserts sound fun.

Gezka slowly turned half of his head, giving the man a small view - enough to see a smile. He slowly lowered his hood, and his eye drifted the the red-bearded man.
"I see." Gezka turned, sipping his water, and was about to continue when the mercenary was bombarded with questions. Gezka chuckled to himself, then nodded to the barkeep, insinuating that he'd pay for the small group's meal.
He turned himself, and quietly faced the other people that were talking to this Garnet. "Hmph," Gezka said to himself, and stood up. His dull armor became full in view, the cloak that was hiding it fell back as it was. "Seems as though you're quite the popular man," Gezka said, addressing the Garnet fellow. "My name is Gezka. Once a member of the Etrurian army. And..." He paused, and glanced at the men around him.
"I've seen posters up for you, my friend." He grinned, mid-sentence, then continued. "You're wanted. For what?"

Erasmus nodded, confirming his thoughts. "Ah, so you came here to take a break. Same with me. And I apologize for being mislead, I didn't realize you weren't addressing me. Oh well. It's nice to meet you, anyway."
Although Erasmus was calm, a small thorn rested in his side. If this man was simply a traveler, why would he stress the will of St. Elimine? The young acolyte had to confirm his suspicions. However, he didn't want to seem rude.
Instead, he formulated a different question. "So, where are you all headed to?"

Garnet looked quizically at Elias when he heard "Flo". What could that be? Flo?
He grew still as Gezka spoke of seeing posters up for Garnet. He didn't even hear Erasmus' question. Whatever pleasure he'd had, drained from his face turning it into an unreadable glaze. The Merc had known this would happen, even if he'd tried not t think about it. Of course, criminals would resort to bounties far quicker than the law ever had. It was just an odd feeling to be on the reverse end of the page. In the past he'd been the one who bounties were brought to. Now he was among the hunted.
He felt his hand drop and rest on his buckler, hanging near his sword, as he reclined. It was merely a comfortable place to put his hand. He casually set his feet up towards the man on an unclaimed chair. He might have to leave fairly quick, depending on how this turned out. More than likely, actually.
"You want to know what for?" Garnet's eyes took on an intense gleam. The truth was, he struggled with his actions, and felt the need to defend them. "You may have heard of an outlaw town, three days South-west of here on foot. It was the center of a fairly large network. Brigands, slavers, all sorts passed through there, sent on their way by one, "Lord Carlyle." The guard-turned-vigilante looked around the room, trying to gage it's reaction, or if anyone was even paying attention. "That changed three days ago. He won't be plying his trade anymore. I made sure of that." He wouldn't refuse owning up to his actions.
Garnet's eyes flashed like the stone he was named after, as if challenging anyone to condemn his actions, but inside, he loathed himself for falling to the level of vigilantism, and he loathed the world for allowing men like Carlyle into places of power. He loathed the nobles that had chosen to use Carlyle's network to further their own ambitions. He hated most of all the corrupt regime that did nothing to stop it all, let alone furthering it.

Setsuna was also caught off guard by the mention of Garnet being wanted. Now, there was a difference between being a wanted fugitive, or just wanted in general. However, Setsuna didn't know, but didn't care to find out. Still, as she listened, she thought that his actions were justified, even a little heavy handed. None had the ability to judge other than Elimine herself in the end, but sometimes, bad things had to be done to bad people for any good to come out of it.
In her mind, the phrase 'two wrongs don't make a right' was a conflicting one. Looking to Erasmus, she offered an awkward smile, but she began to get up from her chair, just incase something was about to happen. She was no stranger from tavern fights, she had the feeling something was about to go down just soon enough.
"N-not sure Erasmus, this was our destination together...since we all just met."

Erasmus studied their gazes. They seemed rather uneasy, as if they were trying to hide something. Whatever the reason, it was clearly not Erasmus's affair. Garnet seemed especially nervous. He was apparently talking to a blond-haired man covered with scars, but Erasmus couldn't make out what they were saying.
Turning to Setsuna, the young acolyte responded to her. "Ah. Sometimes a destination doesn't present itself immediately. Wherever you are bound, I wish you luck. May St. Elimine bless you."
Erasmus paused, sipping the remains of his water. "I'm departing soon. Where, I know not. However... traveling solo can be quite depressing at times. All I know is that there are people out there who need reassurance and blessings. It is my utmost obligation to assist them in any way I possibly can."
The blond-haired acolyte smiled again, adding in a slight shrug.

Gezka chuckled to himself and let his one cerulean eye carelessly fall to the hand of the merc, who rested it near his weapons. He raised his eye again, meeting that of Garnet, then returned as cold a gaze as he received.
"Don't worry, friend." Gezka said, offering a toothy half-smile. "I'm not a bounty hunter by any means." He laughed again, and batted at his cloak. "We've all our fair share of mistakes. Including myself," Gezka said as he sat in the seat next to the red-bearded man.
"I was curious, is all. I don't see many wanted faces around here, just... posters. And to think, you know you're wanted, and come to an open tavern like any other." Gezka was quiet, and he studied Garnet for a moment.
"You've got guts, you and your group. I, as an ex-soldier of Etruria, admire you." Gezka smiled, then turned his eye to the acolyte, who... he would guess was from Etruria. Probably not the best thing to say, but Gezka cared very little.
His eye returned to Garnet. "May I ask what your purpose is here, at least?"

Garnet watched armored man. He seemed to be trying to say that he wasn't an enemy. The Red-head mercenary couldn't detect any deception from Gezka, but then, Garnet had never been the best lie-detector of the guard squad he'd been a part of. He let the man approach, and sit, taking his feet off the chair they'd been resting on. He wasn't planning on letting his guard down, but he wasn't willing to cause anymore uproar either.
"I wasn't aware I was being hunted, but I was aware I may be hunted. I just didn't expect word to have spread so soon." Garnet gestured over to Setsuna, waving his hand down, as if to say that all was ok. It wasn't, it never would be as long as he was here, but he played along as if it was.
"My purpose here?" Garnet considered for a moment, arms resting on the table. Well, he'd already said, passing through for supplies. That was really the extent of his plans. Beyond that, he was planning on getting out of the country, he guessed. What else would he be able to do now? "Mostly what I said earlier. I'd planned on getting a meal and supplies, before moving on, but it looks as if I'll have to pick up the pace some." The merc had never been hunted before, so he wasn't thinking about the troubles of giving away information.
Nor would he have the chance to. Outside, a bell began ringing frantically, loudly, alerting everyone to gather. Someone was bellowing something about raiders, or was it slavers, in the south fields. "We just came that way not long ago."
The merc got up, and moved through the forming crowd to look out a window. There were a number of cavalry forming up outside, clearly militia.
"Stay in your homes, and let us deal with this! We've dealt with Morigan's Raiders before." The leader was shouting. "Bar your doors and do whatever you can to stay safe. If you can gather in groups, all the better! Garnet was struck by the familiarity of it all. His guard unit hadn't been big enough to support many cavalry, true, but the same duties were performed. The same purpose.
He watched them ride away, conflicted over what he should do, as many of the bar patrons decided that this was as good a place as any to seek shelter. His heart was pressing for joining the guard, no hesitation, but recent developments forced him to stop and consider.

Nathaniel could'nt help but smile. This red haired man looked to be lost in his thoughts. He looked to see where Garnet had went with the female acolyte. They were talking to a fellow Acolyte when a grim looking soldier walked up.
Nathaniel thought of possibilities for this. Gambling debts. Theft. Bah this Garnet fellow seemed to straight forward for that. And the mans pocket seemed just too heavy for that.
He thought of going to help pay off his early debts. But then a young barmaid walked by smiling at him, placing a room key in his hands. Nathaniel smiled thinking, " Well early to bed... late.. to.. rise? No that wasn't right but he knew he would be up early enough to bother the mans little party. He flipped the coin at the ex-angry mob landing on heads as he followed the girl.

Gezka nodded slowly, and leaned into Garnet so that others - if they were listening - would not hear.
"Let's say that a little birdie comes to this bar fairly often and sits in the corner, where that lance is. We'll also say this little birdie knows you are being hunted." He grinned at the merc, but then was interrupted by a noise outside.
Gezka's ears perked up, and he leapt from his seat to grab his trusted and old, worn down lance that was leaning against the far wall. As Garnet stood, the soldier solemnly nodded to him, and followed the red-beard outside.
"Stay in your homes, and let us deal with this! We've dealt with Morigan's Raiders before." he heard someone yell, his lance shaft in hand. Gezka couldn't help but smile. He didn't quite know who these people were, but it wouldn't be wrong to assume they could be after the Garnet he was just talking to.
He turned to the swordsman expectantly as the civilians fled to their homes. "Well," Gezka said, expertly twirling his lance shaft in his right hand, "What's your call?" He chuckled.

Erasmus carefully observed the cavalry positioned outside the windows. Brandishing his tome, he stood up, albeit reluctantly. He did not enjoy battling, but he also did not wish to see anyone killed. St. Elimine would disapprove of battling in a public area, but at the same time, she wouldn't approve of deserting comrades.
Erasmus noticed the scarred man draw a lance outside the bar. So, he's a soldier... from Etruria, I presume. The blond-haired acolyte then proceeded to leave his table, nodding at Setsuna. "I'm not going to be involved in this little conflict, but if I am needed, then I will certainly lend them my abilities."
