A firm, albeit slightly small and rather un-calloused, hand found itself on Clair's shoulder. Mavick had brought his pony around to talk to Clair, but had instead found this sight. "Leave it, Clair." he stated calmly. It was the first time he had ever used her given name. "He's not worth losing your temper." Not that he was one to talk. He then gave Alaric (And Krisby, but mostly Alaric) a hard look. "What you two do when we reach town is your choice. However, for as long as you travel with this army, you will respect your superiors, do what you're told, and keep your damned mouths shut. If that's too complicated for you, then get out of my sight. You're just dead wait and a waste of resources." he stated. The vertically challenged shaman turned his pony, showing them his back. "Do not think I would hesitate to tie you up and leave you here to die." he warned. "I'm riding back to the front. Care to join me, Officer Feldsky?"

"Illian armys that leave civilans out to die in the cold whats this world turned to." Alaric grumbled underneath his breath. Next time an offer shows up to do something fun im out of here, He thought.
Alaric looked at David but couldn't come up with anything to say besides. "Can i get another swig of that or are you going to punch me now?"

She was considering hitting the lad again, when Mavick rode up and brought her back. She wasn't so sure that he wasn't worth losing her temper over, but she stopped herself.
The dark mage did have a gift for making his orders and feelings on most matters clear. That was for certain.
"I suppose one good punch will have to do it for today. Let's go then."
Clair took a few steps, and gave a shrill whistle. At this distance, Corona would have simply known to come over to her, but she'd felt like making the call. Once he'd trotted up, she climbed aboard, and followed Mavick back towards the front, shooting one last warning glare before she went.
"That felt really good, actually." She said quietly to Mavick as they moved closer to the front.

"Feh, how about neither? Your nose is still bleeding, get that checked out." He didn't respond to anything else Alaric had to say, that kid almost ruined his chances with Clair. Now he definitely wanted to make sure to ditch him as soon as possible. He emptied his bottle of whiskey and tossed it on the ground. "Dumb rookie..." he mumbled under his breath.

Mavick looked at Clair, smirked, and nodded. "Oh, I bet it did." he replied. "Though I wouldn't know from personal experience. I've never been much of a hands-on fighter. I always left that sort of business to Ly-" The shaman's voice died down, and he cast his gaze to the side. "You are more familiar with the terrain here than I am. How long do you think untill we've reached Edessa?" he asked.

Alaric felt like he was getting the cold shoulder everywhere he steped, he turned around and looked at soldiers behind him laughing for getting hit by a girl. Alaric turned back around and wished he had that bottle rather than David wasting it, but it didn't matter it was gone and all he could do at the time was keep marching until lady luck brought something his way.

"I could always greet you with my sword," was what Richter wanted to say, but before he could get a word in edgewise, Marle made sure to give the mercenary a stern talking down. It was a bit amusing to watch Marle call him boy, considering she probably wasn't much older than he was, but then again, Marle had never really acted her age. Richter made a mental note. He'd have to practice his commander voice.
After that, the rebel commander could only shake his head, amused, as he heard Alaric get beaten around, both verbally and physically. He had to admit, Clair had surprised him with her aggressive response. He hadn't expected her to lose her composure like that.
As annoying as the youth could be, Richter couldn't hate the kid, all things considered. Sure Alaric was a punk, but, now that Richter DID think about it, he had been the same way: smart mouthed and blunt with a complete disregard for authority. That was usually how you behaved when you thought you were better than everyone else. And like Alaric, the pink haired ex-mercenary had gotten his stuffing tossed around more than once because of it.
"It's nice seeing all of the children getting along," spoke the commander to his cousin. He had to admit, this hadn't been the most exemplary display of military conduct on either side. "I wonder what he'd think if I told him that half of us were Etrurian. Bet he'd get a kick out of that."

"I miss him too...." Clair said quietly when Mavick stumbled over his brother's name. They hadn't really gotten to know each other all that well, but Lyar had always looked out for her on the field of battle, as he did for everyone. She'd always tried to return the favor for him. She ought to try and look after Mavick when the battles raged, now that Lyar had left.... Moving on though.
"I came through here with a caravan years ago. It took us about five days to make it from where we began, all the way through the pass." Clair thought over how well they'd done so far. "With the double pace we've been keeping, and the distance we've already traveled, we're probably no more than a day's march at most. That's if we don't run into any more trouble or heavy snowdrifts."
"We could send scouts out to find out if there's any snow blocking the road ahead. We could, if they still have enough energy, that is."

Alaric thought, 'why wouldn't he tell me what this whole purpose of this army is for.' He looked at David and he was practically half sleeping but his feet kept moving, Alaric laughed softly as he would run into the man in front when the coloum would turn and then catch himself and march in the direction.
Alaric couldn't get food out of his mind its been about 2 days since he ate and wished he would of stopped in that town they passed and found something else to do. 'Hopefully I'll get to use this thing soon' Alaric thought trying to get his mind off his hunger.

"Yeah, I wonder why he wouldn't tell you." David said sarcastically. He no longer cared what this army was planning to do. David was an Ostian, it had nothing to do with his homeland. He could care less about what happened to the other countries. Ilia was just the easiest place to be a mercenary, since so much of their income was based around it.

Mavick shook his head. "The scouts I sent out should be back soon, if nothing went awry. No sense in spreading our forces thin." he replied. His hands were almost white from gripping the reins too tightly. "...I'm worried about him." He admitted in a voice that was almost inaudible. "He's always taken care of himself, but this isn't some attack on an Erturian merchant ship. This is a war. If he doesn't come back, I..." Mavick's voice haltered, and he finished in a whisper, "I don't know what I'll do..."

Clair put on a brave face. "Don't worry Mavick. He's a strong man, and he's with other capable people. Aiden is one of the most reliable men I know. He wouldn't let anything happen to Lyar."
Mavick was right. War was dangerous, but Lyar was dangerous too. Dangerous, and tough like iron. He'd be ok, as long as he didn't get himself cornered in any bad situations.

Alaric got out of line and started walking up the column, he wasn't exactly sure why but he didn't feel like getting punched in the face and not being able to do anything about it again. Alaric put his hand in his shirt and glided his hand over his family crest tattoo. It always helped him out when he was nervous, before he could say anything to the knight and pink haired man a squad of lightly equiped men started to walk toward the army.

There was little commotion created by Alaric over there, but she didn't care about it.
"That fort? Are you talking about that fort where we met? Wow..." Fran turned her glance to the the pink haired commander. A smile appeared on her lips. It seems it would be fun travelling along with his army although she didn't like war. Well, Marcus was here, so it should be fun.
"Marcus, you must take me to interesting places later. You have been outside Arcadia for a long time." Fran smiled as she stared at him.

Marle was rubbing her head when the boy had wandered off. What a headache. Was this how her life was going to be from now on? It was so not fair! She was only 18 to boot. Her life was supposed to be filled with glory, and possible exotic romances, but her view of Knighthood was a touch obscured by the whole duty end of it. What a drag...
Marle only had begun to turn her head at the obvious smack of a punch being landed, but halfway through, she just didn't care anymore. One could only guess who had done it, but no guessing was needed to know who it was intended for.
Marle looked up in turn to her older cousin, and gave a smirk. That was so true, probably it was best of they all were flying under the Ilian banner as she had wanted. If they had flown Eturian, that would have been pretty bad. Though, their uniforms needed to be changed...but as long as they were under her banner, they would be seen as friendly.
"Good point. Probably not a wise choice to have brought that up. Rumors spread faster than any man or woman can travel. "
Marle nodded and lowered her hand from her head. The buzzing had begun to go away as the source had wandered on. Looking at the ground, Marle's eyes opened a bit, like a light bulb had gone off, and then looked back to Richter, with a look of interest.
"So. You and Clair seem close. How far have you two gone?"
