Morgoth gazed across the sea of people mulling about before him. It seems things are going to schedule, he thought. The men have come and soon we’ll be on our way.
It had been a while since he had left Rayl’s ranch. After Gabriel (I think) mentioned he thought Rayl had arrived, Morgoth decided to make a change of plans. So while everyone else went to greet Rayl, he slipped off into the foothills. It was there he meet up with the gathering ‘forces’.
Now all we need is some supplies, Morgoth thought. We need weapons, food, and uniforms.
“Sir, we’ve set up camp and the men are training,”Jarvis, Morgoth’s second in command, said from behind.
“Good. Jarvis, tell me something,” Morgoth began, turning to face the middle aged man, “Do you think we have the capability of raiding an Ilian outpost?”
Jarvis thought for a moment. “It would depend, sir,”he started slowly,“how large of a force they had and how well defended they are. We’ve few veterans or skilled warriors. Little of us have proper weapons, and even less have some kind of armor.”
Hmm…so we’ll need a well planned strike,” Morgoth mumbled thoughtfully. “See if you can find someone who is knowledgeable with stratagems in town. Be discreet about it, I don’t everyone knowing we’re here. It would be unfortunate if Ilia caught wind of us.” He then turned to Kristoph, who, thank the gods, was still with them.
"I need your Lycian soldiers to divide our forces into sections and start training them immediately," Morgoth said. "And if you don't mind, since it's your money, I'd like you, Kristoph, to be the money keeper. Find someone to help you figure out what we have and what we need. And if we've the money, try to get some kind of uniform. And take Perseus with you. He's liable to drive me crazy if he stays a minute longer."
“What of payment, sir?” Jarvis asked.
“Tell them payment will come after they have shown their worth. And if that doesn’t satisfy them, set up a meeting with them and come get me.”
“Yes sir.”
“Oh, and while you’re here, what do the others think of being led by one so young?”
“Some are a bit edgy, but that speech you gave eases most of them. Plus you’ve the look of someone who’s seen battle. It’s experience, not age, sir, that shows a man’s worth.”
Morgoth nodded. “Alright, you can go.”
