Eve sent Lilith off to bed, her hair newly cut and layered. She sat down in front of a mirror in her room, examining her hair. She thought it was funny, no matter how many times she became Arum, he hair always turned back to an unmarred blond... She shrugged, casting the musing away. Turning her gaze over to her bed, she saw another tome on a table. She walked over and put her hand over it. The tome pulsated and gave off a faint light. No... it sucked the light from around it.
She held her hand over the tome, taking in it's aura and information. "Luna..." she whispered. Arum must have crafted it. Luna was a hard tome to come by, but rather powerful. It fully negated an enemy's defenses, hitting the target with all of the wielder's magical might. She put the tome in her bag, for it was too strong to be destroyed by her hands. Maybe one day she would be able to open it and use its power, but for now... She was too guilt-ridden to even think about it.
She kicked her bag away and lay down in bed. she took a sip of a poultice Eve had given her, hoping that it had a side effect that would cause her to sleep a dreamless sleep. She smield as her head hit the pillow, now knowing that it would...

Aaron reached Worde. The journey had taken days, leading up to the final run from the Ostian region. He would have been able to bypass much of the travel he'd made if he'd known that he would have ended up coming here by the end. Even so, he'd followed his quarry as quickly as he could: Lilith Degarte, or rather the Arum Lily. He knew very little regarding these matters. Only what he'd heard from Lilith in a dream, but the news of the world had proven his vision true since he'd had it.
He approached a temple of sorts. Home to the Order of Daigon, according to the local townspeople. His hand drifted to his bag, feeling the spell books closed inside. A powerful aura of cold came off on his hand: The outermost of the books in the bag. His mind was already feeling the chill of fear though. He'd arrived here. Something held his friend captive within, a prisoner to her own mind, possessed, and he had decided to extract it. He still didn't have a plan, or any sure knowledge of what might work. He couldn't even remember tales of anything of the sort having occurred ever before. If it had, it had long since been forgotten.
Unsure of what he was going to do yet, Aaron swung one leg off the bay mare that Varia had loaned him, and let the reins drop in the grass near the front doors. He stood for a moment, unstiffening, before slowly easing his way up the steps to the entrance and standing at the door. This was it. He would find what he was seeking here, whatever the result would be. So, he might as well go in demanding success.
One last breath....
Aaron opened his eyes, looking to the doors, and swiftly raised his hand for three loud, firm knocks. The time for doubt was past.
OoC: I was picturing a big place, but I wasn't sure, so I tried to leave it open.

Lilith awoke to an echoing knock on the door. She wondered who would design a place so that the bedroom was in earshot of visitors... She got of bed, and pain laced through her side. Gasping, she sat back down. She settled to just dressing while sitting in bed, and hoped the visitor was not an ill omen.
Eve, on the other hand, was sharpening her blade. She was startled by the knocking at the door, but got up anyway. Weary of the men keeping them from leaving, and wondering if they had received orders to come get Lilith, she walked to get the door, her sword sheathed, but her hand on the hilt. Eve walked through the vaulted hall, finally reaching the door. She opened it, seeing not a soldier, but a green-haired young man. A sort of magician, if she was to be sure. "Good evening, sir. Might you be the mage my charge has told me about?" she addressed the man.

Someone answered the door right as he was about to knock again, and Aaron felt his heart stutter for a moment. Now what? Thankfully, that was an easy enough question to answer. He was being addressed.
His face carried a confused, and startled look, but he was beginning to recover.
"I... yes... um.... Well,... it depends on who you're charge is. I've come to...." He stopped speaking. He felt like he was making an utter fool of himself. Get it together, Aaron!
He started again, brows furrowed as he noticed the young woman before him was a swordswoman, with her hand on her weapon no less. He refrained from any sudden movements, but did prepare to unleash a blast of arcane flame all around him, if the need arose.
"I've come to find Lilith Degarte, and to do whatever I can to help. Is she here?" His voice still felt like he was ready to start shaking from the tension on him, but he was slowly mastering that. He was calming, and speaking in much more confident tones now. Whether it was true surety, or merely a trick he was playing on himself, he didn't know.

Eve smiled, her hand falling from her sword. She looked at the man... He didn't really look like a really powerful mage... She hoped he could do the job, for Lilith and his sakes. "Yes, very good. I am Eve, of the Order of Daigon. Lilith is in the bedroom, follow me. She is fragile, I had to... subdue her, sort of. Arum was in control, so I sort of stabbed her. She will recover fully, of course, but... Be careful with her."
Eve stopped outside of a room. There was a sigil draw on it, a symbol to protect the resident. She opened the room and said, "I will be around. Let me know if I can assist you... And the amulet. Do not take it off unless the spirit is expelled, or unless you need it off to do so. Good luck."

Sort of STABBED her? She sounds so matter of fact about it. The sage thought to himself, grimacing in concern. He was glad to hear that Lilith would make a full recovery, but it must have been.... Well of course it was awful, this whole thing was like a nightmare, and he wasn't even at the center of it.
He nodded his head, as she spoke to him, thanking her quietly before entering the room. It felt almost like the dream he'd had before, when she'd reached out to him, or whatever that had been. He saw her there, sitting on her bed, but this wasn't a dream. It was real. He crossed the room in a few steps and enfolded her in his arms. Mindful of Eve's warning, he lightened his touch after a moment, placed his hands on her shoulders, holding her at arm's length.
"I'm sorry I took so long. I came as quickly as I could though." All the time spent wondering if he'd simply had a bad dream from eating too late was forgotten now.
"How are you doing?" He met her eyes with his own concerned gaze.

Lilith could hardly believe it. Aaron had made it, just like he said he would! In all the time Arum was in control, she feared that the demon would find a way to stop him. No matter, he had made it through whatever trails he faced, and was in this very room! Ignoring the pain in her side, Lilith jumped off of her bed and hugged him in full.
"Aaron!" she burst out, "I'm so glad to see you!" She took his question in to account and backed away. Her side panged, and she sat down. "I... I have been better," she said with a slightly strained smile. "This amulet keeps the spirit at bay. I think it is the only reason she is not in control right now! Ho I can feel her, seething, at the sight of you. She knows how powerful you have become..." she closed her eyes in thought and clutched the trinket around her neck "She hungers..."

Aaron returned her smile with a concerned one, and moved to sit beside her on the bed. He folded his hands, resting his arms on his knees. He was surprised, but he could feel his confidence rising. Just making it to Lilith, and speaking with her was enough to raise his spirits Now.... He had a job that needed doing.
"... Eve says you'll make a full recovery.... And don't worry about Arum. She won't be a concern for much longer." Huh.... When the sage said that, he found himself believing it. He had no idea what logical reason he could have for that, but it was so.
"Lilith, I don't...." He paused for a moment. What was he saying here. What did one say here? "I'm going to get you out of this, and then... And then we'l see what happens."
The amulet. Something about it was nagging at Aaron he wasn't sure what was special about it, but he could feel something about it as he inspected it with his mage senses.
"If you're ready, Eve should be present for this. I don't want to see you in this state a moment longer."

Lilith smiled and placed her hand on Aaron's face. "I know you can do it. I feel her fear. She known that her time in me is short, and he despairs." Just seeing the magician mad her feel like Arum didn't matter in the least. She knew that the old spirit had nothing on him. She drew her hand back, saying "Sorry, I... I couldn't help it. "
After scootching over a bit on her bed, she called for Eve. The myrmidon appeared from the hallway, a comb in her hand. "Ah, will you begin them, sir sage? I will assist you in any way possible. I may not be much of a help, though. I've never seen a purge of a spirit, they are quite rare..." the young woman looked unsure of herself, but tried to shake off her wariness.

Aaron felt her hand on his cheek, and just relaxed for a moment. It didn't feel uncomfortable to him at all, honestly. Not from Lilith. He'd felt a connection with her from early on after they had met, though he'd been less confident back then. Even a bit shy in some ways. He wanted to just take her in his arms and forget all the troubles they'd been through, but there was so much that needed doing, and she was still injured, technically. Instead, he settled for taking one of her soft hands in both of his, for the moment, and smiling back lightly. He said nothing for now, for there didn't seem to be a need for words.
When Eve came and stood in the door, Aaron was already relaxing himself, and following his instincts on what to do to begin the process. He didn't know if all mages felt these sensations or not, but he knew that something he felt seemed to be leading him on. It always did when he was exploring new areas of magic.
"Eve.... Just.... be ready to do whatever you may be required to do." The green haired sage told her cryptically. To Aaron though, it sounded as though his voice was coming from very far away. He was focusing in on the amulet Lilith was wearing. He seemed to get the idea that he could use it as a bridge. Something to assist in forging the connection he needed to draw out this spirit.
Slowly, painfully slowly, Aaron reached up with one hand, and touched a hand to the shaman girl's temple. There was a surge of sudden cold in the sage, and his body jolted for a moment before he felt his own thoughts, and those of Lilith's collide together. Hard. Aaron scrambled to regain control of his mind, and found himself in similar place he'd been in when he'd met Lilith in the dream, weeks before. It was the same cave he was in, but now it was a tunnel a green, verdant forest out one side of the cave, and a pristine river valley on the other side, It reminded the sage of places he'd visited with his father on camping trips, or places he'd seen since then. These weren't the only places available though, and there was more than just he present here. He knew that.

Lilith longed for their intimate moment to last, but there were things to do. She had no idea what to expect, but she knew that Aaron would lead her through it. When he placed his hand to her temple, she immediately felt a shock run through her body. Arum. She was trying to take over, so that both of the magician's would be imprisoned inside. Lilith fought it, while at the same time allowing Aaron in. The weight of three consciousnesses being in one physical body was taxing, but Lilith knew that Aaron needed her to be strong. A battle would soon unfold in her mind, she knew it...
Arum, in the formed of a tainted Lilith, leaned on one of the trees to Aaron's left. She looked down the tunnel, seeing the green-haired mage that had visited Lilith before. So, he came back. She walked up to the entrance of the tunnel he was in and said, "So, the prodigious mage returns. Tell me, Aaron, do you think you can save her?"

Aaron saw her. Close enough to Lilith to be disturbing, yet definitely not the same as the compassionate, idealistic girl he knew. He felt a familiar old fear attempting to worm its way into his mind. A fear of dark magic. He understood it better now though, and he was no longer the same as he had been then. He was a sage. A master of anima magics, and on his way to mastering all other forms of magic as well.
He frowned at the spirit, furrowing his eyebrows together as he stared at her like an equation to be solved. Fear of this being was trying to push its way to the surface, but the green-haired sage was managing to leave no room for it with how hard he was focusing his mind.
Ignoring her pointless taunt for now, the sage turned his mind back to the problem. She was here. This needed to cease for things to return to their proper nature. Without warning, Aaron conjured a fireball and sent it hurtling towards Arum Lily. Even if this was more akin to a dreamworld, it was the first thing he could think to do in his current mindset.

Arum raised her hand lazily, and the fireball vanished mid-flight. "Please, Aaron. Even if you were able to land a hit in a dream world where I decide what happens, it would hardly hurt me." She stepped closer to the sage, her hand, so much like Lilith's, reaching toward him. She wondered if she could convince him to let her stay in this body. It might not be the best shell around, but she was sure that with the mage's help, she could find a way to rid it of its pesky owner. If it was one thing she knew about mages, it is that they always wanted more maghic. More power. Good-hearted or gold-hungry, all mages needed power.
"So, what do you want? Why did you travel half way across the continent to come see Lilith? Or, perhaps, did you want to see me? And ancient being, a spirit of the ether, confined in a body? What a wonderful thing to study! I could help you, you know. Show you how to used the deepest, most powerful magic."

Aaron frowned as his fireball was swallowed up by the world. The rules here were different. Things were not always what they appeared to be. Something the Green-haired spell slinger knew he'd need to come to grips with. She'd called it a dream world. Now he just needed to remember how to treat it as such.
Unsure what he could do yet, he let Arum approach, quietly trying to recall to his mind everything- anything- that he'd thought might help.... He couldn't help it though. She was so much like Lilith in face and voice that he couldn't help but be fazed by her. He knew it wasn't her, but it still had an effect on him, despite his resistance. He mentally shook himself, remembering what Lilith had told him. This was no girl, but a monster in disguise. He heard her offers of power and knowledge, and left them unheeded. The best knowledge was gained in the journey. Cheating to get it without the effort would leave him without practice or wisdom enough to use it. Besides that, he'd entered here with a single purpose in mind, and he wasn't about to be turned aside now.
"You wish to know why I came?" Aaron asked. "I would have thought my reasoning for coming would have been apparent to you,... Arum. I came to end you."
The Sage stood unmoving as he spoke, quietly but firmly. He wasn't sure the strength he had would be even remotely useful anymore. Even if he started treating this like a dream, would he be strong enough to do anything effective? He relented to her words, speaking, though not in the most friendly manner.

Arum smiled and sat back on a cushy chair that came out of nowhere. She slouched, leaning on one arm, placing her hand near her face, one finger held out at a curious angle. This kid would be a hard nut to crack. Maybe she could reason with him.
"Take a seat, child. I have an offer for you." a chair appeared behind Aaron, and she motioned to it. In that moment, she transformed back to her true form, horns and all. "You can have her back if you really want. She's not really my type, you see. But... Beggars cannot be choosers, as your kind says. I would rather have a taller, more... well-endowed body. Someone I can use to make men fawn over, to make them see my way. Now, I don't mean to offend Lilith, She has a certain prettiness about her... But not the kind I want. No, I will left you have her, if you grant me one boon. The locket. It is old magic, my people's magic. I can transfer myself, with your help, of course, in to it. Lilith will be herself, and I will be... Contained. Help me in to the locket, and keep it with you until I find the woman I need, and all will be well. Of course, you could deny me... And I can drive poor Lilith mad at my leaser. So, sagey-wagey, what will it be?"
