Oh man, so many people. It made him feel uncomfortable, like a second and third then forth layer of clothing. Each one covering him a bit more, and making it harder to breath, harder to think. They were talking to him too! Of all people! Did they have problems in the head? Why in Dias would they bother him? He's not impressive in the slightest, nor could he understand what could possess a person to find him interesting enough to desire to speak to him. Especially since none of them knew who his father was, which was the only reason anyone ever cared beforehand. Maybe they're just as nervous as he was....
"Oh, um, hi." He talked to the first one Sin, or Will. He wasn't sure. "I'm er, Edgar. Edgar." Like before, he kept off the last name and purpose. But he nodded. "I'm..." Next guy, should he say what pokemon he's getting? "I have a pokemon, erm... on hold here, I suppose you might call it." He does, that's true. But he was talking about it like a library book, and not as a living being. "It's my father's pokemon. The professor here's been taking care of it..." He added with a nod. "I'm not... sure... what it is." Ah, there was the lie.

Tiberius fell in behind Lucas as the boy led him up past the others. So Lucas was Professor Pine's godson? Good to know. Good person to get acquainted with too since it meant that Lucas was probably knowledgeable about the whole process, which was great because Tiberius really didn't know much. His presence here was proof enough of that. Plus, with Lucas, he apparently didn't have to wait in line, and that was always a good thing.
"Godfather, eh?" replied the blond haired youth, "That's pretty cool. Come on, Larvitar." With a lazy wave of his hand, Tiberius motioned for his rock-type pokemon, who had just taken a large bite out of the stone steps behind the research assistant, to follow. Larvitar, it's mouth full of chewed up stone, swallowed its meal before waddling in behind his trainer. Tiberius, unaware of Larvitar's mischief, continued. "So if Pine's your godfather, are you some type of pokemon expert too?"

Lucas turned to acknowledge the question. He placed a thoughtful hand to his chin. He wasn't comfortable with calling himself an expert just yet, but was well aware that he knew more than most his age. He took a breath to begin boasting. A thing he wasn't usually comfortable doing.
"I wouldn't say that. Yes, I know quite a bit, but nowhere near my godfather. But I suppose I am an expert compared to most other people my age." he thought for a moment on that point, "Though that may be wrong. Most people my age interested in pokemon have been trainers for years by now."
Lucas became aware of how fickle he was sounding. As the two turned the corner into a tree-lines path that led up to the ranch, she caught himself.
"But yes. I do know a lot about pokemon. It's a passion of mine. My name is Lucas, by the way."
The boy held his hand out for a formal handshake.

"Oh!" Amanda remarked, "I'm sorry! I'm Amanda! Amanda Verity!" the girl looked a bit embarrassed that she forgot to introduce herself. But that soon subsided as the aide continued to direct them down the path they walked in the forest. Excited about finding her first pokemon, she grew impatient.
"Man! How long will this take?" the girl exclaimed as her short attention span broke.
