patches.... Something about that grabbed the mage's attention, and caused him to think of his target, Arum Lily. He couldn't understand the reasoning though, so he put it from his mind for the present.
"Wow... I'd forgotten what it felt like to have short hair." Aaron stood up, combing his hair out with his fingers and giving it a quick shake. After so many years with long hair, losing it would take a bit of getting used to. At least his family wouldn't tease him about having a rope tied to the back of his head anymore.
"Thanks, Saffra. Let me know how much I should tip the stylist some time, eh?" He'd been a bit apprehensive through the whole thing, but that had turned out to be needless. She'd not lopped an ear off, or anything of the sort. Only hair. And! He'd not heard anything that sounded like an "oops" as she was working. That was a plus.
"Half a minute! I'll be right there!"
The hostess' voice came hurtling down the hall from across the house. It appeared that, despite being aware of the guests ahead of time, Varia had positioned herself to be able to shout down the hall..... He wasn't sure what he thought of that.
Stepping out into the hall alongside Saffra, the people at the front door were mostly shielded from his view as the door was opened by Varia.
"Hello. What are you here for?" Even without being on the receiving end of her speech, Aaron still cringed at the blunt directness in her questioning. Her practice on Aaron and company hadn't yielded any results in the area of softening her speech yet.

"Hello. What are you here for?"
The voice came from a woman who had opened the front door, and was now staring at Wein with a look that the archer construed as slightly annoyed. Her long blond hair rested on her shoulders and, as Wein observed, she was strikingly beautiful. If she was indeed in charge of this whole gardening operation, he would have to admit that she was quite the woman. Beauty and brains.
The archer also noticed at least one person standing behind her, further into the house, but as the persons in her home were, at this point, none of his concern, the Ostian turned his gaze back to the blond haired woman.
"Well, you see," Wein began, "my two companions and I have been trekking through these woods for the past few days, and despite my usually impeccable sense of direction, we have gotten a bit turned around." He paused. His sense of direction wasn't really all that impeccable, but there was no need for this woman to know that.
"I'm not particularly one to be found wanting by strangers, but I was merely wondering if you could give us a point in the right direction. Perhaps to the nearest village? These woods are...unfamiliar to me." The archer's voice trailed off, as if ashamed by the thought that there was a spot of land he had trouble traversing. "As well, could you spare some supplies? I must say I've grown tired of spit-roasted rabbit. I have plenty of gold."

"Oh I don't mind carrying this for you Mana it's no trouble," Zelphiam said reassuring his traveling companion that helping her carry the large blade was no problem at all. He had almost complete forgot about it until she had said something. The blade wasn't as heavy as he had thought it would be.
"Hmm well I don't really need anything from you but I would appreciate it if soon we would duel each other," He said as he examined some flowers. Zelphiam didn't want to take anything from her he was just doing out of the kindness of his heart which was weird for him. Though on the other hand he was really doing this so he could get on her good side so he could maybe ask of a favor from her.
He then noticed something where was Wein? He didn't see him come into the garden with Mana and he didn't see the archer following behind him. Zelphiam hoped he didn't get lost and he would have to go find him.
"Mana I think we should find Wein," Zelphiam said as he looked at the house.

"Hehe...I am thinking about that too. I wanted to duel you," she said with cheerful smile. She had been interested to duel him after she saw him fighting those mercenaries. He was pretty skilled, fighting him would help to improve her skill. "Maybe we can do it later." She didn't have mood to draw her sword now, the Sacaen girl still wanted to enjoy the garden.
Mana remembered about the archer when Zelphiam mentioned him, it seemed he and Zelphiam didn't come together. But he was the one who suggested to check this place, so he should be still around here. Looking around, searching for Wein between the plants, Mana was thinking if he was angry at her for leaving him behind. Nah, he didn't look like the type who would get angry easily.
"OH!" Mana clasped her hands. "Maybe he go to that house. Lets go, Zelphi!" Mana casually called him Zelphi and started walking toward the house, humming. Hopefully, the blonde swordman wouldn't mind, Mana thought shorter name was easier to be pronounced.
Then, she spotted him. The archer was talking with someone in the door, probably the owner of this place. "Oh, there is him..." Mana looked back at Zelphiam. "Hey, should we go too?" she asked him as she pointed toward the house.

Saffra clapped her hands together, to get any of that green hair that was still between her fingers, out. She gave a nod at him, and thought he looked alright, perhaps even more grown up. Now, her curiosity was getting the better of her, as she wandered out from where she was and into the house, hearing the hostess talking to someone, a man by the sounds of it.
She could actually hear them quite well, eavesdropping was sort of an accidental quirk about her. She liked to know things, even unimportant things. It wasn't a duty for her, but knowing something someone else gave her a kind of ego boost to make her feel, atleast for a time, superior. She was superior in many respects, she was sure, but she always enjoyed validating that.
With a grin, she moved into the sitting room just beside the door, and sat on the chair with a leg crossed over the other.

Varia watched the young man her expression changing from her apparently annoyed apprearance (a well practiced one), to something more bemused in nature. She smirked up at him from just inside the door, her mischevious eyes running the length of his ruggedly worn, but handsome frame. My my, but you are a handsome thing, my bow toting friend.
Her eyes stopped inspecting his features long enough to answer back to him.
"I will point you in the right direction to the nearest town if you'll agree to be my guest for tonight, my nameless friend." The house would be plenty large enough, as should be obvious from looking on it from the outside.... And she really didn't want this one to get away. He was just a little dirty from the road. Other than that, he'd clean up marvelously, she was sure.
" It's really not any trouble. I'm already putting up three other guests for the night. Three more is... no trouble really. And keep your gold. This isn't an inn. It's a greenhouse." And a rather magnificent one at that, she thought to herself. She was reasonably certain that there was enough supply to fix up a feast. And with her magic fueling the chef's fires, it wouldn't take long to get things just perfect....
Aaron left the hall a moment after entering, oblivious to what was being said. He followed Saffra into the sitting room. Some would probably consider it rude for him to simply stand and watch a conversation he wasn't part of. Not that he could hear it very well.... Still, he wondered about the visitors. Travelers? Or Customers?
Trying to seem unobtrusive, despite his curiosity, Aaron started wandering around the bookshelves of the room, fingering the odd cover hear and there. Reading it to himself as he waited for the outside to conclude. One of the books he came to, one of several colored in similar ways, was titled in arcane runes. He could read the word etched into the binding: Lightning. It was actually a weapon. Or a tool. It was unclear. It was the most basic of the spells of the branch the world knew as light magic. Carefully, he pulled it from the shelf and began leafing through the pages, curious if it was much different from his fire tome.

Xavier chose a nice spot in the sitting room as the mage and the winged woman left the room. He opened the book, flipped through it, admiring some of the pictures and furnishings that the author had put into the book. After a few times of flipping the book back and forth, Xavier opened the book to page one and started reading it...
==TIME SKIP (Past the timeskip that Aaron mentioned)==
As Xavier was about halfway through the book and already having learnt quite a bit about the magic art, Xavier heard a few sharp raps coming from the main door to the house. Those few raps were enough to lapse Xavier out of his concentration, and becoming annoyed, Xavier turned to look in the direction of the main door, in anticipation of whoever was coming.
The person who had made the raps had not appeared though, and instead, the ones who appeared were the winged woman followed by the mage. Xavier tried to concentrate himself on the book he had picked out again, and realised that he couldn't make out any part of the book again. The book's content seemed to be utter gibberish to him now, and flipping through the book showed that the furnishings and pictures had all disappeared and were replaced by gibberish as well. It seemed that the book had a life of its own. It could call out to him, and at the same time, it could decide when he could read it. It didn't want him to read it now, so Xavier sighed and tucked the book away within his clothes.
Xavier walked over to the mage, who had just picked out a book from the shelves as well and asked, "So... who were those who rapped on the door earlier? Some more guests?"

"It's, uh, Wein, my lady," replied Wein, "Wein of house Lowell of Ostia." The archer tried to sound as polite as possible. After all, this nameless woman had just invited the three of them to stay the night, and for free nonetheless. It was a welcome proposal for the Ostian. He was a man who, despite his wanderings and vagabond ways, was still a noble at heart, and definitely preferred a soft bed and a warm fire to the meat of roasted squirrel and the muddy ground of the forest.
The archer noted, however, that woman, of whom he still did not have a name, seemed quite interested in him. It was hard to miss those striking eyes running up and down his frame; gobbling up his visage. Wein found no harm in it, though. If anything, it was flattering to think that a woman as attractive as...he'd really have to get her name...would show such interest in the weathered, slightly dirty archer. Besides, there was nothing wrong with free food and some attractive companionship.
"I don't think I got your name," stated Wein as he followed the blonde woman into the house. "It seems so impolite to keep referring to you as 'woman', even if it is just my thoughts."

Zelphi? Was Mana serious!? Zelphiam hoped that she wasn't going to start calling him that Zelphiam hated nicknames. He followed Mana to were she had saw Wein. It seemed the archer had walked to the front door and began speaking with the residents of the house. Zelphiam then walked up to the right before it was closed and knocked on it multiple times to get the people on the inside attention.
"Hello my name is Zelphiam Rinko of the Rinko Sage clan and I'm traveling with sir Wein," He said hoping that they had a good reason for stopping at this house instead of continuing their journey.

Ostia.... That was a sore subject. She didn't let it bother her though. Thinking on the destruction of a large populace, as well as a group of her customers was only so productive, after all. Nowadays it was easier to simply allow the troubling thoughts to wash into, and back out of her. Like the waves at the beach.
"Well, how about "Beautiful" then?" A mischevious held sway on her face, her lip curling back into a little smile as she suggested the name to Wein.
"A pleasure to meet you, Wein. I'm..." She turned her head at the sound of more knocking on the door.
"...Going to open that before I continue."
The sight that greeted her was a young blondhaired man, and a young brownish haired sacaen woman. The man introduced himself as Zelphiam Rinko... Not a name she was familiar with. Hmm...
"Come inside, both of you. I've offered to put you up for the night." She ushered the pair inside, before going back to introducing herself. She unashamedly paid the most attention to Wein.
"My name is Varia. Varia Saint. And, this is my greenhouse. Now... There's a sitting room, which normally us used as a common room, just down that hall. There's also a number of guest rooms, and a couple of wash rooms on that same hall. If you'd like to clean up a bit, and I expect you will, Wein, draw some water, and ask Aaron to heat the water for you. He's another of my guests, but he's a good man. He'll do it for you." She looked over the three new guests, mostly lingering on that handsome Wein character.
"I should go and make sure dinner is started. If you need anything though, don't hesitate to holler. Someone will be along." And with that she left them to their own devices, heading up the hall, and already trying to decide how to spice the dinner.
Meanwhile.
Aaron was fingering through a few of the pages of the Lightning tome when Xavier came up to speak to him. He was just beginning to catch onto some similarities between his Elfire tome, and the lightning tome too. Closing it up, he turned to the blue haired healer.
"I don't know, Xavier. I wasn't close enough to hear what was going on." In the background, they could hear the door closing, before briefly opening and closing again.
"Looks like we may find out soon though."
The mage noticed Saffra wasn't doing anything. Merely sitting in the chair. Was she one to sit idly though? She'd searched the library before. Was she done with it already? Or was she.... up to something? A thought occurred to Aaron. Saffra may look very much like a human at the moment, but how different were they really?....
"Saffra?... Do you know what's going on?" Aaron asked from his position near the doorway into the sitting room. It was... more of a guess really. There hadn't been much to lead him to such a question, but questions were a powerful source of knowledge. He asked many, and was unashamed to do so.

Mana listened to Varia while her eyes looking around the room. It was her first time being inside someone's house in Etruria, the last time she was here, she didn't spend much time in this kingdom. Yes, she went there to do a scouting mission, but then she got lost and separated from her companions. That might be a fate, because she met a group of adventurers after that. Anyway, this house looked like a comfortable place to live.
Mana bowed slightly when Varia left the group to prepare dinner. The thought made her feel hungry suddenly, the walking in the forest probably had took some of her energy and she had to refill now. "Nice timing. I think I feel hungry." The myrmidon smiled, she put her hands behind her head and leaned against the wall. Not realizing Varia's attraction toward Wein, the Sacaen girl was thinking about the dinner. But bath sounded nice too, she felt she needed it after walking in the forest, sweating and all.
"Alright. It's decided, take a bath first." Mana took a few steps further into the house, heading to the hall. She felt a bit awkward not taking a bath in river like what she usually did, though. "She seems like a nice person. Don't you think?" Mana turned to the two older men and asked a question.

Saffra only gave Aaron a small shrug, that was all she really could do, afterall, hearing mention that more people were coming to stay, she started to talk away from where she sat, and move over towards the young mage, eyes a bit narrowed, and sat near him, careful of her concealed wings.
"Sounds like we have more company."
She stated in an almost sing-song voice, hearing now the footsteps of all the people entering. it was a bit odd that Aaron, Xavier and herself weren't even noticed at all at the beginning, but she could see them just fine, this room was just beside the doorway, afterall, and there was no wall separating them.
For the time, Saffra sat with a level, almost intense stare with her sharp yellow eyes, taking in these three, clicking her tongue along the roof of her mouth, as she sat in a most lady-like way, legs tucked and swung to he side as she sat in her new seat.
"Varia, who are these?"
Saffra knew this wasn't her house, but she didn't act like it. She was invited to stay here, so she figured she had a right to know, afterall.

Wein bowed his head to his host. Varia was awfully gracious to let them stay the night, especially considering she already had guests, but it was obvious that she had her eyes set on, well, him. It would be interesting to see where this night would take him.
"I will go ready a bath, and will make sure that if trouble arises, I will indeed holler," said Wein politely. "Thank you for your graciousness." He couldn't imagine what kind of trouble a man could run into drawing water to bathe, that is unless Varia kept some sort of poisonous plant growing in her bathtubs. If that was the case, he could definitely see reason to holler.
"She seems like a nice person. Don't you think?"
Mana's voice knocked the Ostian out of one of his usual brain-wanderings. Nodding his head, he agreed. "Yes, very nice," said Wein, watching Varia as she walked away. She did have quite the nice, uh, keister. Shaking his head, he turned to Mana. "Though if we want to take a bath, we'll have to find this Aaron fellow. He's apparently adept at heating things."

A bath sounded really good to Zelphiam he felt kind of dirty and a bath always made him feel at peace. He had regretted saying that he came from a sage clan and hoped that no one would ask him about it. it bothered and made him angry to talk about his "family" that treated him like crap except his mother thought. His father cared but he was never really around. Speaking of which he would have to send his mother a letter soon it had been a while since he had last done that.
"Yeah she's hospitable alright," He said to Mana and Wein. He didn't trust Varia sure she was kind and letting them stay here was really nice but he just he a sense that she was working an angle like she wanted something but it could just be Zelphiam's natural no trusting anyone with anything feeling.
"Hope we find that Aaron guy fast I think I would love a bath right now," Zelphiam muttered to himself as he began to wonder what this Aaron guy was like he hoped he wouldn't have to speak to him much.

Standing in the hall, Xavier was about to reply to the mage's response to his question when he saw the new guests that he had been expecting ever since he had heard the knocking on the door earlier. There were two men and a girl in that group, and they were armed, too. They were standing near the door and started talking, in slightly raised voices that Xavier couldn't help but think that they might be slightly barbaric.
And then, when the guests had walked deeper into the house, Xavier could pick up bits and pieces of their conversations, such as: "Alright. It's decided, take a bath first." and "if we want to take a bath, we'll have to find this Aaron fellow. He's apparently adept at heating things."
Those guests were certainly really... good at making use of their resources..., for lack of a better way to say that they were really good at making use of others' hospitality.
"They seem very..... resourceful.....", Xavier said to the mage, with no other words that he could use to fill in that gap that would not be too offensive to the other guests.
