@ Henrik: It looks like your fears are invalid. FE3DS is COMIN TO EUROPE!
Oh, and on the cover there's this masked dude who TOTALLY resembles Marth. Could it be? Could Marth be back for more action? *screams like a schoolgirl*

Well, from what little research I have done, this game is to be called Fire Emblem: Awakening, and will also be the first 3DS game to feature DLC (new characters [Ike?], new maps, etc).
Excitement? Yes. Very much excitement.

honestly
we all know we're going to restart maps until every character survives anyways
I don't think permadeath toggle option is really going to matter in terms of overall character loss

That's what I say. Just because SS had an Easy Option, it didn't stop people from playing it on hard.
That other people need an easy version of the game does not hamper your own personal experience.

I agree, and yet...
Part of the Fire Emblem experience involves pulling out your hair. Adding a mode where you don't have to pull out your hair diminishes that.

Yes, and picking that mode is like picking story mode in Mass Effect 3. It diminishes the overall product for a personalized experience.

Objectively speaking, I don't really see how you can make that claim as if it was fact. I'll be playing with permadeath on but I really don't see how having the option of turning it off is going to ruin your enjoyment of the game.

Just having that option is like going out and partying when your grandma just died. Just feels wrong.

Just saying that playing with the permadeath option off is denying oneself of the full Fire Emblem experience. Kind of how the 1 + 2 remakes sucked because you could change unit class. I personally didn't, but enough people did that the game got panned by plenty of Fire Emblem fans.

I didn't get into Shadow Dragon to see the whole unit class changing option, it couldn't get past how damn ugly the art style was.
