Miori raised her head and glanced at all the faces who looked into her crystal blue eyes thinking strange of her. She guided her hand upon the hilt of her blade, breath quiet and still. Finally she removed her hand from the blade and strolled along through the city, not paying any attention to her surroundings, stuck inside of her own painful memory.

Miori kept walking, knowing that this city she arrived at had no people it seemed like. She sighed and looked up at the blue sky, imagining the smile upon her brother's face. "Mikuo..." She spoke closing her eyes having a painful sorrow in her heart but kept walking down the deserted street until she made it into a cavern, an old bar/hotel building. She glanced at the many faces. The many faces were men and women of young and old ages. She tilt her head to the side and sat down on an empty chair and slipped her sheath off of her waist. She leaned back and glanced at the ceiling, wondering, hoping something will happen.

Hal had wondered around those woods lost for what seemed to be weeks when it was only a day and a half. Hal had ate some berries he watched some animal eating and other things he thought was safe. He had finally found the edge of the trees, in the distance he saw a town. He almost ran the whole distance there, stopping at the gate to catch his breath. The guards looked at him funny as he walked in.
"Uh.... Hi?" he muttered as he passed them. He looked worried now, all these people looking at him like that. "Great, now I'm stuck in another town I've never seen. That girl from the other night was something else... She was really crazy or something, I hope I don't run into her again." He had wondered into the nearest inn and sat at an empty table. A bar maid walked up to Hal and began to speak
"What would you like hun?" "Umm..." Hal spoke nervously "Ho-how much doe-does wa-water cost?" "You're not from around here are ya kid? "No ma'am..." He started to get worried. "Run away from home or something?" "We-well... Kinda, yea" "Tell ya what, help out around here at closing time I'll hook you up with a hot meal and a room if we have one left. If you don't keep your end of the bargain that man will take ya to jail." She pointed to a man which Hal had turned his head to look at. Wasn't that much bigger than Hal but to him he was three times his size. "Okay, my name is Hal." The woman had introduced herself as Karen, she had took his order and he sat there looking around waiting for his meal.

Miori turns to Hal but doesn't know what to say, shy above all else but suddenly without realizing it, I'm standing beside Hal. Thoughts passed through her mind. She placed her hand on the back of her neck and glanced away, not knowing what to say to the man who sat there waiting for his meal. "Y-You don't look like you're around here. I-Is it alright if I sat next to you?" Miori looked at Hal and gently smiled pulling her brown hair out of her shining face.

Hal had turned to see this brown haired girl smiling at him. Glancing around and this was the only table with space to spare. "Uh.... Yeah you can... I guess..." Hal stood up pulling out the chair next to him so this new lady could sit. It has been a while since he met a new guest that wasn't plum crazy but he still had his manners.

She smiled back at Hal. "Thank you." Miori laid her hand upon the hilt of her blade and looked around at the many faces which looked at her back then glanced at Hal. "I'm Miori."

"My name is Hal." he had pushed in the chair as she had sat and returned to his seat. "Hopefully she doesn't turn out like that psycho I met in the woods." He looked at her nervously "What made you want to join me?

"Uhh... Umm... Y-yea... Actually... I don't even know where I am." Karen had returned with Hal's meal, noticed he was now sitting with a girl and smiled at him as she left. He had took the knife and started to cut the steak in half as he spoke. "I wa-was working on a farm when I saw some girl chased by some guys. I went to help her and ended up making them mad. She was crazy or something, foamed at the mouth when we were safe and ended up killing them and running away."
Hal had finished cutting everything in half. "I-I'm n-no-not sure if you're hungry or not but you can half if you like." He nudged some of towards Miori.

She smiled and waved her arms infront of herself a little. "N-No thank you. Please I'm not hungry. Don't mind me." She thought to herself as she glanced up at the ceiling for a few seconds then looked back down looking at Hal. "Well at least you're alive right Mr. Hal? Wait, where did you come from Hal?"

" ...because I find the very idea of paying for a drink ridiculous! I try to make it my business to right injustices. This is an injustice! I've been walking through this mountain filled landscape for days, and excuse me if I'd like a little bit of drink. So if it please you sir, I'll take a pint of ale, free of charge and without complaint, or I'll have another wrong to set right." Tearus finished changing his tone to a bit light hearted. He'd never liked bandits. There's a difference to tricking someone for what you want, and scaring them for it. Then the man behind the bar said, "Alright, alright, just take the damn drink." as he slammed the tankard down in front of the blue haired cut-purse.
The young man grinned as he brought the drink to his lips. At this rate, he'd get the drink, a meal, a room, a horse, and a night with the mans daughter. He liked the mountain Ale, but he knew this should be all he got, and even it might be a bit much. A group of farmers next to him looked like they wanted to ask him something, so naturally, the man turned to ask, "Problem, gentlemen?" One of the older farmers piped up, "You a noble or summat'?" That question always annoyed Tearus. He ad been born in a place poorer than many of these men would ever see. He'd visited the library often enough to get his vocabulary built up, and explored the market stalls in the richer district so that he wouldn't speak like someone who didn't know language he was speaking. And whenever someone heard him, and commented, it was always with great scorn.
" No, many days of my life the one meal we ate was a loaf of maggot filled bread shared amongst whoever happened across our impoverished inn." He turned and walked away, leaving the alcohol behind him. He sat down at a table which seated two young people that, he gathered from eavesdropping (sorry but, he's a thief) were as new to town as he.

Hal had overheard the rude man speaking as if the world owed him at the bar, then sit near them. "Great, this nut case is sitting near me. Man, why do crazy people seem to be attracted to me" He started to eat "Berm, how about you?"

She looks at the rude man but then back to Hal and smiles a little, nervous a little.
"I..I come from Ostia..."
She began to speak but suddenly her forever smile vanished as she hid her crystal blue eyes underneath her bangs.
"...My youngest brother got sick and he couldn't move out of his bed. I got worried...so...I'm here now trying find a cure for him, but obviously I...I can't find one here in this town. I cant find any information about where I can go."
All of the sudden Miori stood up from where she sat and turned toward the entrance to the pub, her heart frozen for awhile. She enclosed her fingers on her hilt, wrapping them tightly on her sword. Without another thought she walked toward the door.
"I need to go. My brother needs my help."
Miori quickly raced out the door alone with her mind set in trying to find something, anything that will help find the cure to her brother's rare illness.

Miori suddenly stops and walk back into the pub and walks over to Hal.
"Do you think you can join me Hal?" She laughs nervously scratching the back of my head. "If you aren't planning on doing anything Mr. Hal. It'll be nice to have some company with my journey."

Well, her exhaustive research had confirmed that this was definitely a place where people came to eat food.
...
A lot of people.
Elesia crept up to the battered door silently, half expecting it to erupt in a torrent of angry bears, and was slightly disappointed when it didn't. She'd been on the balls of her feet, ready to spring away at a moment's notice; to have nothing come out of working herself up felt like a waste of time and energy. She waited a few more seconds, blissfully unaware of any odd looks from passerby by the strength of her concentration, before tentatively pulling the door open.
Still no angry bears.
The forest waif slipped inside with her usual stealth, struck instantly by the roiling mass of odors mixing together. Food, other kinds of foods, something half rotten, more rotten things, bodily fluids... it was somewhat overwhelming. She sniffled quietly, rubbing her nose as if it would magically remove the overpowering stench before scurrying on padded feet to the waist-high wall of wood that she knew from observation people were given food at. They had to "pay," too, which apparently involved giving yellow metal to people in return for the food.
So it was a good thing that she had borrowed someone from the last person to fall asleep in her forest! Eminently pleased with herself, Elesia allowed herself a brief smile before the crushing stench and realization that she was still nervous as hell came down like a hammer, and her expression vanished into nothingness.
Two tentative pokes of the countertop accomplished nothing, too quiet to garner the attention of the woman waiting there. A few more seconds of silent staring served enough to alert her, and she spun with a smile, one that quickly after her initial greeting was met by awkward silence and a definite deer-in-the-headlights look from the green-haired little monster. A few seconds later, she opted to respond with a squeaky "Hi." A few more moments of silence, punctuated only by Karen's slightly less chipper 'Can I help you?"
Elesia shrugged, pointing at the first food-looking thing she could see, putting down all three of her shiny metals. They glinted in the older woman's eyes for a moment before two of them disappeared into her hand in the blink of an eye, leaving one behind. The remaining piece was shortly joined by the burnt meat and a somewhat more genuine smile; Elesia hid behind her bangs, absconding with what remained of her wealth and the food to the nearest empty table.
Everything had gone better than expected, she decided.
