Okay, so there's nothing really wrong with it, but I feel like the class could have a better name. There seems to be less of a way to bring it (Nomadic Trooper) up when describing your character's fighting style. The only way I can think of is saying, that Nomadic fighter's a real trooper. My thought was that since it is a Sacaen based class, and Sacaens are based on Mongols, it could have a name based of a promoted Mongol soldier. So my suggestion would be Orlok, which would be the second in command of a Thuman.
Just a Suggestion.
Edit: Granted Orlok isn't that easy to bring up either...

I kind of agree with this, though I'd say we name it something a bit more known overall, like perhaps a dragoon?
Dragoons are historically mobile, versatile light cavalry that historically fought with lances, and later guns. As there are no guns on this board, I figure bows would fill that slot.
Thoughts?

I personally have no problem with the Nomadic Troopers name, though I think the Rangers name is funny. I've mentioned it to Hal, but I've felt that we should name the Ranger 'Nomadic Raider' and give the name 'Ranger' to the Yeoman class.

That always did bother me. Yoeman are non-serf farmers. Not quite sure of the relation.
I'm just not a huge fan of the whole Nomad title. Sure, they were all Nomads in FE7, but the name kind of implies that every horseback archer has to be from Sacae, which isn't really true.

Yeoman is also a term for a bodyguard. But a Ranger is a woodland expert, not all Sacaens are hunters.

Ranger isn't so much a woodland expert as it is an elite light infantryman. But then again, I'm biased, since in the wonderful world of the U.S. military, a ranger is what I just explained and a yeoman is the Navy's version of a pencil pusher.

Look at DnD and LotR, two of the biggest fantasy settings and Ranger is defind as woodland expert. This is more of a fantasy setting than milatary setting.
Kenshin had got the Ranger classed based on DnD but he still. Meets the defination of the fantasy ranger, he had melee and bow abilties along with minor woodland experance since he was a hunter as well as a warrior.

Dragoons sound pretty good to me, though I suspect there will be occasional - and hilarious - misspelling incidents. "I'M A DRAGON." "a WHAT?" "oops I meant dragoon."
Which sounds more like an argument for the name than against to me!

I don't really have a problem with Ranger, but I thing it could go to either class. A Ranger was commonly associated with "ranging" which is to move around or through a region in all directions (a scout essentially), which either could do. But on the Nomadic Trooper, I agree Dragoon sounds pretty good.

Just chipping in my two cents worth. Having played Final Fantasy, Dragoons will always be lance men who can jump.

Personally, I don't think Dragoon is a good name. I really don't see a similarity between a mongol horseman and a european cavalier carrying a gun known affectionately in France as 'The Dragon', and in all honesty, I would point and laugh at a nomad riding around calling himself a dragoon.

Kassai could be used in place of Ranger.

Oooh, that actually sounds nice...And if we're really going down this road, Keshik, the Khans elite guard, could always be an alternate name for the Trooper. They used bows and lances as well.

Again, that mindset essentially limits the classes to "You have to be Sacaen" to be these classes
