Wyatt heard his name announced early, as he was still in mid conversation with Richter when it was called. The first fighter of round two? He didn't recognize the other name they called, but he turned to Richter with a nod.
[red]"Well, off I go. I'll be holding you to that drink when this is over!"[/red] He shouted, heading off towards the entry gate with his axe over his shoulder. This was exciting! He'd never imagined something as simple as a tournament of arms could be this much fun, go figure!
The announcers voice boomed over the arena, filling the air with his proclamation. "And now! We start off round two with a bang! In the north gate, we have the boy who melted down an Ilian Glacier, Wyatt the Volcano!" Cheers came from the crowd, it would seem that he had gained a decent following from the crowd after his last match. It felt good to know that people at least recognized him from his last fight.
"And at the south gate, having shown that mages aren't all magic and no muscle, we have Edrick the Pale!" He said, and Wyatt could swear he heard the crowd get a bit louder for him. Well, he supposed there was something primal and enjoyable about a fist fight, and now that he looked at the guy he remembered his fight. He was a Da---elder magic user. He didn't have a lot of experience fighting against that, he'd have to be on guard.
He nodded to his opponent, readying his axe and raising his shield.

"And now! We start off round two with a bang! In the north gate, we have the boy who melted down an Ilian Glacier, Wyatt the Volcano!" Yelled the announcer. "And at the south gate, having shown that mages aren't all magic and no muscle, we have Edrick the Pale!!!"
Hearing his name being called and the cheers of the crowd Edrick steps out of the gate and into the arena, into the cheering of the crowds, Edrick turns to face his opponent. "Hey, your Wyatt right? nice battle with that general in the first round. And good luck" Then Edrick draws his tome.

Wyatt grinned as he saw his opponent. [red]"That was a nice trick you pulled too. I guess I better watch out for your right hook."[/red] He joked, preparing for the fight. He had no idea how good this guy was. He could stay back and observe him, prepare for his spells and dodge them. Then counter quickly with his axe and try to end it quickly. That would be a logical solution.
...
...
And Wyatt charged. He didn't have the patience for such a boring strategy, like standing back and just waiting for them to swing. They'd be here all day unless someone acted! His charge was long, due to them being at opposite ends of the arena, and he was quite sure that the shaman could easily throw out a spell or two while he was running. He'd just have to trust in his reflexes and his endurance to see him through this.

Richter chuckled as Wyatt rushed at the shaman. Yes, that's exactly what he would have done, so good. Waiting around was a coward's strategy, and against a magic user the red-haired axe user would be at an extreme disadvantage if he kept distance between them, if only because the shaman had no real reason to ever approach.
But seeing how Edrick had proven himself a capable hand-to-hand combatant, Wyatt would have to be careful not to let his arms or wrists get grabbed, else he could find himself getting a beat down much like that...what was his name again? Bone eater? Grave digger? No, that had been the masked man's opponent. Well, whatever his name was, he had gotten his face mashed in by a mage, so either he had been an unexpected pushover, or this mage packed quite a punch.

"That was a nice trick you pulled too. I guess I better watch out for your right hook." Wyatt joked.
"Thanks" Edrick chuckled. Then the magic he had been preparing was ready, he then took the orb and shoved it into the groundI need to keep Wyatt at a distance. If he can defeat an armored general in one hit he will break through my light leather armor with ease. That would be a problem. . Tendrils then proceeded to appear out of the ground a few feet in front of his opponent, and they began to flail towards his opponent trying to land a hit. That should slow him down,if not for a few seconds. The cheers of the crowed grew to a volume so loud that Edrick almost couldn't focus on the spell he was casting.

A man of few words, eh? Wyatt didn't mind that, but it did make for rather boring fights. He'd been expecting magic to fly from the mage when he charged him, but instead he attacked....the ground? Wyatt didn't stop his charge, but he was very confused. What the hell had he just done?
The answer came a moment later, when Wyatt noticed tendrils of darkness rise up from the ground a few feet in front of him. Crap, stopping at this speed wasn't going to be easy, turning would leave him vulnerable, and staying put was no option. Only one choice then.
Wyatt jumped into the air, attempting to clear the tendrils of darkness. He got a good bit of height, but not enough unfortunately. His foot struck one of the shadows, and he felt his body get cold for a moment. It was only the briefest of touches, but it still served to make him screw up the landing. He hit the ground and rolled with the impact, quickly regaining his footing.
Not good, his fall meant that he took his eyes off of his opponent, which meant he could very well be preparing to throw another spell at him. Wyatt glanced up, keeping his legs tense and ready to move in case a second attack was forthcoming.

Clair watched the scene as Wyatt entered the arena. She was excited for him. There was an openness she had with him. It came of the respect he'd won when she'd seen him breaking out of the Etrurian city with Richter. She wanted to trust him because of that.... And it would be nice to have someone else to cheer for.
"C'mon Wyatt! Knock him flat!" She knew the redheaded smith was plenty strong. He had to be to carry all that gear around. His opponent was a dark mage though. She grimaced in sympathy. Ooh.... Maybe I should have given him a few pointers.....
The blond haired woman shook her head, as the smith charged. The unfamiliar weight of the ponytail she now wore proving a minor annoyance flitting through the back of her mind. She held her breath as Wyatt leapt over the dark tentacles reaching for him. She thought he was going to clear it when his foot caught on one of the arms. She saw his face as the cold lanced through him.... Surprise. This isn't a game that can be won as usual, Wyatt.
"Keep going!"

Wh-what?!? He actually managed to jumped over them?!? Well at least I got his foot. Thought Edrick as Wyatt jumped over his magic, with his foot touching one of tendrils. "Wow, nice jump that's pretty good with all that armor on." Edrick complimented.
Noticing his opponent hit the grounded hard he began running along the wall to try to stay away from Wyatt.Stopping after he ran about 20 feet he finished preparing his second spell and sent an orb of dark magic at his currently downed opponent.I wonder how long I can avoid him before I have to fight at close range. Once that happens it will turn drastically in his favor, I doubt I can win but this is too fun to let it end!

Wyatt glanced up to see the second attack coming, but didn't wait for it to strike. He'd taken this guy lightly at first, but now he needed to stay focused. His right hand unfastened the strap on his shield as he went to a knee, so he was holding it merely by the grip. The reason was simple really. Wyatt couldn't hope to roll with such a massive shield, and he was afforded no other way to avoid the follow up attack. With a dive, he managed to get away from the orb of darkness, rolling off to the side and landing ready to pounce.
And pounce he did! Wyatt was tired of playing defensive, now it was time to make this Shaman sweat! He didn't leap at him, much as he wanted to. He needed to be able to move and dodge around, and being airborne did not afford him that. As he close with the shaman he gave a powerful roar as he swung his axe across him.
[red]"Had just about enough of the magic!"[/red]

"Crush him, Wyatt! Stomp on him or whatever! Just make sure you win this fight!" Mana's cheering for her friend didn't lose to how Wyatt cheered for her. Her voice joined many others who cheered for either Wyatt or Edrick. Some people also chuckled at how spirited the girl was.
She was worried when the opponent demonstrated his dark magic. That kind of power was still mystery for the Sacaen swordswoman, it looked strong and dangerous. Wyatt had jumped over the attack well but one managed to catch his foot. The fall probably didn't hurt much but it gave Edrick a nice momentum to launch his second attack. And yes, he did it. But maybe he should have done it right away when Wyatt was falling. The slight delay he made resulted with Wyatt dodged the orb successfully. "Yeah. That's it! Show him everything you've got, Wyatt! Hit him with that axe!"
It was then she noticed Clair cheering for Wyatt as well. Well, it would be more fun to cheer together, right? Mana ran toward her. "Clair. So you are supporting him too!" The girl got behind the Ilian captain and gave her a strong clap on her back, too strong maybe because she did it while sprinting.

Clair watched as another shot of magic flew out from the caster. He was trying to keep to pressure on with his attacks, and it was clear that Wyatt was not pleased with what he was having to deal with. The shaman was having trouble maintaining a complete control on the situation. With the red haired fighter ditching his shield, he was able to throw alot more of that muscle into moving forward, rather than carrying a load. She wasn't sure whether it would be enough for him to beat the next shot fired though.
"Clair. So you are supporting him too!" That was all the warning Clair got before she was suddenly clapped across the back by a voice from behind. She stumbled forward a bit, unprepared for something like a simple impact. It didn't hurt through her leather armor, but she barely managed to catch hold of the edge of the arena before she fell. She turned quickly to look at the voice and saw Mana, the sacaen girl she'd seen Wyatt with earlier. She'd seen the swrdswoman's match as well. The fight between cavalry and The Maiden of the Blade had been an exciting match indeed.
Clair smiled at Mana, not as caught up in the excitement as the other was, but still supporting Wyatt. Then again, you just got surprised by a slap to the back, Clair. Don't lose yourself in the mix.
"Yeah. I'm cheering for Wyatt. He helped me back in Etruria. Probably saed our lives, actually. He ever tell you about that?" She answered back to Mana. The question on the end was out of curiosity more than anything else. What sort of man was he?

Passing through the crowds, Synkkis noticed the duel between a shaman and a well armed man with an axe. Looking on with interest, he thought he could take some pointers from this duel.
First thing he noticed was the 'arms' of darkness put out. It would've taken some skill to make as many as that as sort of a net to catch a rushing enemy in. However, this shaman didn't make quick to keep his distance and focused too much on his attacks.
The pupil knew this battle was going to be over quickly, but he wasn't sure who would take the big hit. The axeman's armor wouldn't help him much against a full on Flux, but the shaman wasn't armored enough to shirk off a blow from that mean looking axe.
This really put Synkkis on the edge of his seat so to speak. He joined the crowd in the cheering. "C'mon! Hit him! Hit him! Tear him apart!"

Mana didn't notice that she could have just made someone fall with that friendly clap. She needed to make sure not to do something like that again or next time someone would fall gracefully into the arena. Well, maybe it was alright because it was Clair. She looked like the type who would survive even in the most dire circumstances. "Well, don't worry. He wouldn't lose before our match..." she remarked with a smile. She had a hope to fight him here. Those sparring matches were fun indeed but they never unleashed their full power for some reason, so a serious match with him in this place would be nice.
"Helped you in Etruria? Hmm..." The Sacaen tried to recollect what he had said. Well, he said many things and it was quite difficult to remember something that happened a long ago, especially because she had a bad memory. "I think he did once, but I didn't quite remember....Oh, right! He said something like that after I registered, that's when he introduced me to you, Clair," she said. He hadn't said much about them, though. By the way, she also remembered that he had mentioned another name back then. "That's right...He said he met you and Richter in Etruria. By the way, I don't see this friend of yours. Is he here?" Not aware of the fact that those two were disguising themselves here, Mana mentioned Richter's name casually. Fortunately, most people were busy cheering for Wyatt and Edrick. Those two were famous and had their names mentioned everywhere, but Mana still hadn't realized that they were the "real" Richter and Clair.
"I am wondering, though. What kind of fun you guys had in Etruria? You said he saved your lives. Sounds like adventure for me," she said, chuckling a bit. It seemed her friend had some nice story he hadn't told her, Mana would ask him to tell everything later.

Clair grinned at Mana's certainty of Wyatt's triumph. She was certainly a competitive one. It was a little infectious too. Of course Wyatt would win! He hadn't fought against Mana yet. It didn't make logical sense to Clair, but there was a part of her that found it easy to believe.
Clair glanced around slowly as Mana mentioned Richter's name. It wasn't a quick look which would grab attention. Instead, just a slow casual look to take in their surroundings. The name had to have gone unnoticed. There was so much noise around them that she'd had a hard time hearing the girl speaking right next to her.
She leaned in and spoke quietly into Mana's ear in response. "Don't use that name right now. He's trying to keep a low profile while in the city."
She leaned back out returning to the normal combat with the fracas around them.
"Maybe after this tourney, we could all meet up and swap stories somewhere. I could tell you what I know about it then, and catch a meal somewhere. I'll get dinner." Having a meal not cooked with the limited supplies of an army was sounding pretty good to her. Had been for about a month, actually.

Mana quickly understood that Clair was serious when she mentioned about keeping low profile. The girl gave her a quick nod as a reply. She questioned why he needed to do that, though. Why would someone need to hide himself? He wasn't a criminal, was he? Maybe she would get the answer later after this tournament ended.
"Alright, I would like to talk with you as well. Maybe exchanging some stories, you look like someone with some adventurous experiences. I am not sure why I feel like that, though," she said, trying to follow the flow and trying not to mention Richter's name. The Sacaen maiden started to like the older woman, she looked friendly and easy to be friends with. "I know a good place. It isn't a peaceful bar, though. But maybe that what make it so popular," she said, chuckling. Maybe she would invite Valcrist too, she just didn't want to leave the guy alone.
Mana moved to Clair's side, leaning to the edge of the arena. The view here was slightly better than the place where she had watched the fight from before. "By the way, what do you think about that mage? I mean...I don't know how to fight a mage, I never had any experience. So I am wondering, what are Wyatt thinking now, or what did you think when you were fighting Lily."
