This had to be it. Tut the Mad was quick, but he was so rash and even if it looked like he would take a moment to calculate his attack, it was more of trying to come up with something even more insane. Anyways, the Maiden had started to slow down so it was all up in the air... so to speak.
She also seemed a bit timid in a way. Like she wasn't willing to deal him a big enough blow to incapacitate him. Many of her attacks were placed for him to be able to dodge or they'd only shock him if they were to connect. The Ilian could see how differently the two decided on fighting - Synkkis willing to beat anyone within an inch of their life and crush a limb so they wouldn't want to come back for more.
The arena was holding on, this last blow probably going to decide it all. Synkkis himself pausing to watch clearly.

Richter forcefully placed his palm to his forehead in frustration as Tuatara's obvious fumble took a favorable turn. It was true that the man's haphazardness made for a completely unexpected fighting style, and Richter couldn't say he himself wouldn't be at all surprised by it, but to the extent that the Maiden of the Blade was being bested? It was embarrassing how seriously she was taking it.
But much like her last match had shown, the girl's true strength wasn't her raw fighting talent, but her ability to pull out surprising displays of skill and agility when the situation demanded it. As the orange haired thief descended on her, she fearlessly turned the match around by grabbing his knee and, using the resulting loss in momentum, grabbed her fallen sword before turning it on her clumsy assailant. Such a maneuver could end up giving Tuatara some serious injuries, but that was the price of entering into the arena.

Clair's head snapped back to the arena and she stopped walking as she spotted Tut and Mana's battle giving up another wave of action. As she saw Tut leaping into battle, she knew that Wyatt was right. She didn't smile, but she was pleased that he seemed to be doing well.... Even if half the time, it wasn't his intent. Just a lucky break, and a bit of good timing. Throwing the cloak out to block his opponent's view had been clever, and now that she was down, it was the time to strike. She wished him well, even as she was bothered by his circus performer battle antics.
She wished well of Mana too though. And now was he time for a counter assault. She appreciated the care that Mana had shown to keep from hurting Tuatara, but they had all underestimated him. Kiddie gloves had prove inappropriate here, and now was the time to realize it. Mana did, driving her blade towards the thief's shoulder as they clashed. The healers were going to get another workout after this battle. Clair was sure of it.

Post by Tuatara 'Tut' Yamen on Nov 15, 2012 15:06:52 GMT -6
Insert battle mus- HOLY DRAGON POOP! Tuatara's mind flew away as the blade came for him. A thousand thoughts flew through his mind. Drat, beaten at my own game! He grabbed an idea at random and acted.
Shhhhhhink! The sound of his blade grating against Mana's. He had already had it in movement, but the change in direction caused it to be very ineffective. Mana's blade barely moved away as it continued toward it's target.
"Spots..." Tuatara said as the sword hit bone. It slipped to the side, leaving a large gash and taking some flesh with it. He landed on top of Mana and rolled to the side. His eyes were really wide as they stared into the sky.
"Three!" Get up! Tuatara thought through the pain. You've had worse! You've been struck by lightning, you steal from dragons, YOU STARED DOWN A DRAGON! You've been tossed from a dragon, even infiltrated a fortress! "Two!" He gripped his dagger. Hey, did she say my attack name was stupid?!
"On-" The anouncer stopped as Tuatara sat up. His hands shaked as he put his dagger in his mouth. He tore off part of his shirt and wrapped it around his wounded arm. The cloth was quickly soaked. He staggered to his feet and took the dagger from his mouth.
"I-I can still fight," Tuatara stuttered. His entire body was shaking. "A-Aeros would n-never let it go if I-" His eyes rolled shut as he collapsed. His body wan't used to this kind of torture, it had rarely taken a hit in his long career.

The dumb-founded look on Synkkis' face mimicked some of those in the crowd. A little dissapointed, Kyyneltya brought his hand over his face. "Come on..."
The Ilian turned away, back into the common area. The madman's own tactics turned against him in an easily deflectible counter-attack. Synkkis experienced that you could tell a lot about a man in combat. Some mercenaries he knew back home were renowned for being scared for their lives at the first sign of danger. Then there were great warriors such as the Ilian commander Richter. This 'Tut the Mad' was just plain and simply insane. He wondered how long until he was locked up by a Bernese guard for looking at him wrong.

When he landed on her, Mana feared the worst. This position would put her in a huge disadvantage if the thief had additional plan for following attack. She would not be able to use her primary weapon, skill and agility, if she was pinned down like this. Did her attack not cause any damage? She was certain her sword hit him, or at least grazed him. The exchange was very fast, Mana herself wasn't sure what had happened in that moment as Tuatara rolled to the side. But she knew she couldn't just lie and wait for the next attack in this disadvantageous shape.
Mana got up with a quick sweep, starting with a short roll to the side and pushed her body to stand with her left arm as a support. Standing up and ready, the girl pointed her sword to Tuatara, who seemed to have already gotten up to his feet too. The Sacaen girl expected another unexpected attack (he had surprised her many times) and chose to wait. But, then Tuatara collapsed and seemed unable to continue the fight.
After assessing the situation and making sure it wasn't another clever trick of his, Mana swung her sword to the side to clean the blood off it. "Well, I am not sure why but I feel he is a tougher opponent than Albert," she muttered to herself. She then walked toward him to check his condition as the announcer's voice filled the arena, ending the match with a loud cheering from the spectators.
