Kale cast his glance eastward, the mountain range looming int he distance before him. He drew a heavy sigh as he trudged along quietly, moving in what he hoped to be the direction of Pherae.
Ever since the first assault on Laus two years ago, Kale had been on the move, wandering throughout Lycia in a seemingly vain effort to find his mother and father. The boy had little luck thus far, and he had little faith that this trip would bring him any results. Still, out of all the territories in Lycia that he mother and father could have fled to, Pherae was the most likely. It was, after all, a mostly neutral country, and after his family's previous experience trying to run a business during wartime, they weren't likely to head anywhere "under tension."
Kale slowed his pace down as he progressed forward, his left hand firmly gripping the handle of his sword. He heard rumors of bandit attacks through Lycia, and there was no chance that he would let himself be taken off guard.

Tiv was walking in the opposite direction of Pherae. His hopes of making it big in there where as slim as none, maybe it was best he just packed his bags and went back to Illia. No, he thought as his head was hung low, I'm not going to rely on mother and father that kind of thing. He glanced up for a moment to look where he was going when he saw a kid, not much younger then he was staring at the eastern range, with his hand on his sword handle. It was true that bandit attacks where a thing here, but how common could the be? Pherae was a bustling little town, but he could not be certain when a bandit would strike. Tiv tried to keep his distance from the boy by strafing off the road, but he kept his hand ready in case of an attack, he didn't want to get caught off guard, or it could cost him more then just money.
