"Oh come on", spoke Shugo. He so wanted to take a ride on the Albues. Flying on a wyvern was still one of Shugo dreams, but it seemed he would still have to wait.
"My brother", spoke Yashi as she put her index finger on her mouth. "hmmm, Buto is quite hard to describe", she spoke. "Well I could go ahead and start with his name. My brother name is Butorega. We may not look it but we are twins."
"Twins", spoke Shugo with surprise. "I thought you said he was your brother."
"Yes he is my brother", spoke Yashi. "He is also my twin."
"But I thought twins look alike", spoke Shugo in a puzzled tone. "How can you be twins if he is a boy and you are a girl."
"Well not all twins look alike", spoke Yashi. "It is a bit rare, but there can be twins that are opposite genders, and me and Butorega are one of them."
"That is quite interesting", spoke Shugo. "Wait does that mean you can read each other thoughts and finish each others sentences."
Yashi chuckled a bit at Shugo questions. "No Shugo I can not read his thoughts, nor can I finish his sentences. I know some twins who can finish each other sentences, but none that can read thoughts."
"Pshaw, you guys are no fun", spoke Shugo a bit disappointed.
"Sorry, sorry", spoke Yashi as she patted the young recruit on the back. "Like I was saying", spoke Yashi as she stared back up on Valin's question. "Butorega has orange hair like me and has a unique grin", spoke Yashi as she took a deep breath.
"It not that I don't love him", spoke Yashi as she stared back up. "It is just that he always has this grin. The best way to describe it is wolfish. It goes from one side of his face to the other. Most people find it to be creepy, but I am starting to see it as a little charming. He is my brother after all."
"Wolfish grin", spoke Shugo as he began to think back into his memory. He remembered a man once who had such a complexion, but not entirely. He only saw the man's face briefly, but his face was connected to the term.

Oc: This is going to be fun to write.....;-;
Valin listened to the woman speak trying not to Look at her. His reasons were two fold she hadn't noticed his eye yet and he didn't want her to yet and secondly the knight found her features appealing. Valin laughed in his head when he realized he'd run into at least three other woman he found attractive since coming to Illia. Valin caught him self pray not only for Lisa safety but also the Lady knight he fought. When Yashi mentioned her Bothers name a Valin recognized it but he couldn't remember where he heard it.
While Shugoshi and the healer talked about twins Valin chanced a look at the two. He could help but smile at how three strangers like them seemed almost like three siblings on a journey home. No matter what I'll help these two. No matter what pain come's my way this is my true oath. he looked away again when Yashi started On Burorega again. As she described him Valins chest stated to throb. Orange hair. Wolf like grin. Butorega...No It can't be. Valin thought with a sudden jolt of shock.
"Lady Yashi does you brother where a red jacket alot?" Valin said looking half back to the healer and the recruit. "And does he go by Balgoth at all?" Valin prayed the answer was no. Yashi seemed very kind and the last thing Valin wanted to say was here brother was a cold hearted brigand that destroys lives and that he was Valins nemesis.

“Balgoth”, spoke Yashi with a bit of surprise. “No my brother does not go by that name”, spoke the maiden.
“Oh I know that name”, spoke Shugo happy to add to the conversation. “That name is the name of the main villain right hand man in the play Bandits and Kings. He is the one that slew the great hero Holfin, but died of his wounds not long after.”
“Yes indeed”, spoke Yashi giving Shugo her approval. “It is quite a popular play in Bern”, spoke Yashi. “It was a favorite of my brother’s back when we were training with my grandfather. In fact the prince of the play prince Priam wore a crimson jacket. My brother has been fawned of red jackets ever since. Which made me think at first that you might have met him when you mention it, but I would never imagine him calling himself Balgoth? He always seemed to despite the character and never took any interest in it. May I know why you mention it”, asked Yashi as she looked at Valin.
Shugo stared on a bit bewildered. The description of the man matched several people he had met in his travels, but from what he could tell It seemed Valin might have met the brother she was searching for. It was good, but something about the situation made Shugo feel like it was a bad thing.

Valin listened to the Woman and boy smiling the whole time. He knew after Yashi finished that Butorega and Balgoth were one and the same but he also knew that from the way she talked she didn't know of his crimes. With out giving away a hint of his torrent of feelings he simply said. "I met a man awile aback who sounded like you brother. But thinking back now he had red hair the same shade as my eye." Valin turned around and walked backwards pointing at his "Evil" eye. He hoped that it would be enough of a distraction to change the subject. At the same moment the trio arrived the gate out of town.
The man in black armor from earlier and the Nomad were waiting for them outside the town. "I believe he's putting on a front swordsman we should kill the rider to save the boy and woman." The dark swordsman shook his head. "The man will kill himself before long his guilt will see to that. The Woman became visible flustered "There no way to know that for sure if he's as evil as you said." The swordsman nodded "Your right let me see your bow to test it draw. Then we'll attack." The woman handed the dark figure her bow. The man looked it over then before the woman could react the Swordsman took an arrow from her quiver and loosed it at the recruit. Valin saw just enough of the attack to jump infront of Shugoshi. The arrow pierced between his collar bone and neck and the rider dropped to his knees. "Thank...God.." Valin said looking at shugoshi before falling to the ground.
"See he was a good man who would have protected them and now he dead." The Dark swordsman said walking away. The Noman looked at the dark figure with horror and disguest and then to the fallen knight and his wards. "Damn it! Damn you!" She cursed the swordsman as she rode to the trio.
OC:I didn't kill Valin.(But you might want to heal him.)

As Valin pointed toward his eye and Shugo’s face lit up with excitement. The young boy thought the eye was cool rather than evil. “Wow that is cool”, shouted Shugo as he stared into the red crimson of Valin’s eye. Yashi however seemed to have a different reaction to Valin’s Evil eye. Unlike Shugo she was not excited to see it, nor was she frighten by it. The woman’s face was flat.
No emotion could be seen on it. She was neither happy, nor was she sad. She just stared at the eye for a moment and walked up to Valin. She placed both hands around his face and looked him in the eye. Her mind could not help, but go back to her brother. She remembered the trouble Butorega went through as a kid. His wolfish grin was not only present as an adult. Even as a child he held such a distinct facial expression and as such he became an outcast amongst those who lived in their village. And all he did was have a different smile. Now she looked upon Valin and stared at his red eye. If Butorega was picked on for having a wolfish grin than Valin must truly have suffered for having a red eye.
“I am sorry”, spoke the maiden as a single tear ran down her cheek. “Others may not understand, but just because a man is different doesn’t mean he is evil. In that sense you remind me of my brother”, spoke Yashi, but before she could finish she noticed a man drawing a bow in the distance. Her eyes lit up with danger as she turned toward the young Shugo. “Mo...”, she spoke, but it was already too late. The archer drew back his bow and let lose his arrow.
“What”, spoke Shugo as he looked up to see an arrow. Fear entered his eyes as time itself seemed to slow down. The arrow sailed through the air and began to move closer and closer. The young boy lifted his hands, but he knew it would do no good. He closed his eyes and then heard a loud thump. The arrow hit thought Shugo, but he felt no pain.
“Thank…God…”, spoke Valin as Shugo opened his eyes. He saw the knight standing in front of him. He took the arrow to his neck and seemed to die right in front of the boy.
“Mr.Valin”, shouted Shugo as he fell to his knees. He looked at the arrow wound to his neck and knew that it was bad. “Mr. Valin”, spoke Shugo again as he began to shake the wyvern rider.
“Don’t” screamed Yashi as she rushed over to him. She pulled up her staff, but stopped as she saw the arrow. “Oh no”, spoke the maiden. “Shugo” she spoke as she turned toward the young novice. “I am going to need your help.”
“Right”, spoke Shugo as he rushed over to where Yashi was standing.
“Ok I am going to need you to apply pressure on the wound once I remove the arrow”, spoke Yashi as she handed the boy a thick piece of cloth. “Can you do that for me”, she asked.
“Yes”, spoke Shugo as he accepted the cloth. Yashi did not waste a minute. She immediately pulled out the arrow, and like she thought blood began to pore out of his neck.
“Now Shugo”, she spoke as the young novice began to press the cloth on his neck. The maiden quickly shifted over to her staff and began to heal Valin’s wound. “Keep the pressure”, she spoke as the orb on the end of the staff began to shine. Eventually the light turned dull and Yashi gave Shugo the green light to remove the cloth.
“Are you alright”, asked Shugo as he rushed up to Valin.

Valin heard mix of sounds. They almost sounded like words but it was like a woman and child speaking over each other. Then nothing. No sound. No pain. No sight. No emotion. Just white void. He let himself think for awhile. He thought about what the Healer had said. “I am sorry. Others may not understand, but just because a man is different doesn’t mean he is evil. In that sense you remind me of my brother." She had said that while crying, crying for his sake. He wanted to feel sorrow he wanted to feel angry about be compared to Butorega. But nothing came. The knight knew he was dead but he wondered if his sacrifice was enough to make amends for all he had done or failed. Pain returned to him and he wanted to scream he wanted to live again. Valin wanted to protect Shugoshi and Yashi to bring them home. Valin needed to confront Butorega again.
Valin woke up to Shugoshi calling to him "Are you alright?". The knight said nothing at first and stood up. He looked at the recruit smiling "As long as you are then so am I little knight." Valin looked at where the arrow had come from and saw a green haired horsewoman holding a bow riding up. Valin grabbed His lance and readied himself for a fight. "Peace warrior. I mean you no harm. My name is Lin."
OC: Ya Lin is the best name I could come up with....

“No harm”, shouted Shugo. “You shoot Valin with an arrow.”
“Be silent Shugo”, spoke Yashi as she stepped in front of the young recruit. “Though she may have a bow and be in the same direction from which the arrow flew it does not mean she was the one who shot Valin.”
“It doesn’t mean she wasn’t”, countered Shugo still angry.
“Use your head little one”, spoke Yashi. “If she was an enemy she would have already release another arrow. In fact she would have shot us while we were aiding Mr. Valin.” Shugo grew quite as he realized the logic in Yashi’s words.
“Now miss Lin”, spoke Yashi as she turned to the nomad. “Can you please explain to us why an arrow was shot towards Shugo.” A different look was in Yashi eyes one of anger and hatred. She made sure to keep Shugo behind her while she spoke. She did not want the young boy too see her angered expression.

Valin saw the healers anger and he started to see Butorega in her. Is that how he saw Valin? Someone how hurt his men killed his friends. It chilled him to think about it. Lin seemed more afraid then guilty in Valins eyes.
"To prove a point." the woman said dryly. "What point? What could be proven by shooting at a boy?" Valin said taking a step closer. "That you sir are not evil.' Lin responed flatly without pause. Valin was taken aback not at what was said but how it was said. She didn't seem to regret killing Valin. "YOU SHOT AT A BOY FOR THAT! WHAT WOULD HAVE HAPPENED IF YOU DIDN'T!!" "But! You! Did! and I didn't loose an arrow. The man in black armor with the dead eye did." Valin remembered earlier that day with the caged man.Who on the hell is he.
Lin looked away from the confused knight and to boy on the wyvern. Albues growled and hissed at her but the woman was unflinching. "Little one thank the spirts for this man and curse his attacker not me. That said my bow was used for the attack and I wish to make amends and restore my honor if I could." Lin then turned yo meet Yashi's fury with a cold unfeeling stare.
"We are going to Bern. Their going home and I'm their escort. I could use some help." Valin said in a sad tone without looking at anyone. Lin was visably shocked by the Man frankness. Valin started walking away and then turned around smiling. "Come on everyone we should get going."

“Yes we should”, spoke Yashi thought anger could still be heard in her voice. He gave an evil glare toward Lin and began to walk forward. Shugo followed behind, but purposely lagged behind.
“ Mr. Valin is a good man”, spoke Shugo as he looked up at Lin. “I don’t see any reason for you all wanting to attack him, nor do I see any justification shooting an arrow at me. I will say this and that will be all. I am watching you.” The young boy spoke those words with a seriousness that was unlike him.
“Shugo speed up a little”, spoke Yashi as she rushed the young boy in front of her. It was obvious that she did not want Shugo near Lin. In truth Yashi did not trust her. Even if she did not lose the arrow she was still a part of a group of people who were willing to harm a child just to prove their point.

OC: This is my last post in this thread. I'm ending it after your reply
"Shugoshi thats enough. Lady Lin is helping us now. Isn't thst right Milady?" The knight said in a calm voice. Lin still hadn't moved here horse. "How can you trust me so easily after all of this? Why do you think Im coming with you know? Why arn't you angry?" she said her calm coldness broken. Valin turned around and walked backerwards rubbing his head. "You didn't kill me. You have Honor. And Shugoshi is safe. Now that thats settled You ride in front because they don't trust you yet." Lin rode around to the front of the group giving Yashi, Shugo, and Albues a wide birth. "You are a fool arn't you Valin. Your there only real protection and your letting..." "Stop It already. No one is aloud to be hard on themselves here other then me."
With each step Lin felt more and more ashamed for misjudging Valin. The knight lost himself in his own thoughts of what to do about Yashi and Butorega.

Shugo watched the woman as she rode ahead. He did not like her and he did not trust her even more. She had just nearly killed Valin and from what he understood the arrow was originally aimed at him. Valin seemed to trust her enough so that was good enough for him. It had been a while since the young boy had relied on anyone else and not being on guard all the time felt good. “Well off to Bern one more Sir. Valin”, shouted Shugo as he attempted to regain their better mood.
Yashi on the other hand was not so keen to forgive. She had hidden her mistrust behind her usual smile and began to move as she normally did, but her eyes were focused on Lin. Better to keep a wary eye than to walk blindly into a trap, though Yashi.
