It had not mattered where Satan Claws had traveled, he had brought cold weather wherever he had gone. The air in the city of Bern had began to get a lot colder than it normally would during this time of year, rumor had spread quick that had meant the dreaded Satan Claws was approaching. The massive city had evacuated in a hurry, his sled circled around the arena for a few minutes before descending into the middle of the battlefield. "HO HO HO HA HA HA." The large man had bellowed out while inspecting the area, it was a truly magnificent location to test the will of man. Digging into his magical bag he pulled out an axe almost as larage as he was, setting it on the side of his sled before returning to a search of the bag. His magical reindeer began to snarl and snap at the air sending drool flying around. "Easy boys, your meals should be coming any time now. Ah, there it is." Pulling a large staff he held it into the air, it shot a beam of light into the air then it split into 15 smaller beams and descended into the ground. Beings that looked like the size of children wielding various types of weapons had appeared where the beams of light had struck. Folding his arms he sat back down, propping a foot up on the front of the sled he gave a smirk as he waited. It had seemed as if his minions were just as impatient as his reindeer to feast upon the flesh and blood of humans. Glancing up Satan Claws took notice of the snow beginning to fall, the environment had began to match his icy cold heart the longer he sat there waiting. (You have free control of the minions he just summoned. Riendeer are still chained to his sled and will not attack right away.)

Butorega began to walk through the snow heading towards the center of town. His bones ached from excitement and his wolfish grin widened. The screams of villager only urged him on as he forced his way through the crowd. It was an opponent, worth of facing in battle.
As Butorega arrived in the center of town a beam of light struck the ground in front of him. Out of it came a childish looking figure with a grim smile and a axe that was sharper than knifes. “Is it a leprechaun?” Butorega asked himself with surprise, though he was obviously wrong. “I've never actually found one before; I wonder if I cut it open with my axe would it spill out Lucky Charms?”
Immediately the little devil jumped forward and attempted to take a bite out of Butorega. The brigand acted quickly by deflecting it with his left hand. “Bad leprechaun”, shouted Butorega as he swung his axe in retaliation. The axe head sliced the little monster, but did not kill him. Unfortunately there were no lucky charms.

Aurek walked into the arena. Bad memories. he thought to himself. He had a shield this time though. When he had received the message, Aurek was loathe to carry it out. Unfortunately, upon careful consideration, he decided it was much better for Satan Claws to die than him. So he entered the arena with all the pomp and circumstance that was due a soldier of Aurek's caliber: none. Not surprising in the least, Butorega was there. Chopping away at midget monsters. Who were wielding weapons. It was slightly terrifying, but also a little pathetic. It was like a failure of a parent had given his kids weapons and let them run around without supervision. Except the adult was lounging in a sleigh. And two massive, ugly monsters were attached to the dumb thing.
"Surprise, surprise," spoke Aurek as he advanced slowly. An ax wielding fellow charged. The ax connected with his shield solidly. Aurek let himself get thrown backwards. The tyke was deceptively strong. The Aurek's lance narrowly missed piercing the midget's side. He was lucky they were so short. Their reach was terrible. Unperturbed, the ax wielder charged. Aurek just back-pedaled furiously. "A little help over here," he called. Fighting axes was not his specialty.

Why was she there? It hardly mattered, the pointy eared brat staring down one of the odd little creatures that had appeared in a beam of light. Oh, yes, she had a few drinks and was headed back to the inn she was staying at, and then this little tart decided to pop out of the air. It's grin was lopsided, hat cocked over to the left sloppily as it lumbered through the snow, beady eyes drifting about for a few moments before focusing in on her.
She shivered a little, pulling her cloak around herself as a brow cocked up at it's odd little giggle, the weird little creature lifting up a crude lance and suddenly striking. There was hardly any time for Mel to react, the girl doing the first thing that came to mind, leaning over backwards and pressing her bare palms into the biting snow as the weapon scraped the fabric of her shirt, tearing it just a bit. She was not amused by it's antics, twisting her wrists a little to unlock her elbows and roll out to the right to avoid another attack and hastily return to her feet with a grumble. Cold fingers fumbling the girl gripped her sword and drew it without a second thought, keeping her distance as she circled the odd little man. By gods! The way the chill nipped at her nose drove her mad! The cold was simply unbearable!
Slowly she exhaled, remembering her many mistakes that had come from being far too rash. This creature was odd, and there was simply one sure way to deal with such things that she did not feel compelled to deal with. Turning on her heel and kicking up a little cloud of snow she dashed away, someone else would get rid of whatever deformed person it was, for now she wanted nothing more than a warm fire and some entertainment.

“Aurek”, shouted Butorega as he brought down his axe on the little creatures head. He turned and looked at his aged friend and notice that he was being driven back by one of the little monsters. The brigand took a deep breath and rushed in with a loud roar.
The little midget turned around just in time to block Butorega’s attack. The little creature flew back a few feet. “Sup Aurek how have you been”, spoke Butorega.

When the order to evacuate came out and people began leaving the city, Mana was one of the few people who stepped up to end this nightmare. She let the cold find brushed her face as she watched the evil demon flying in the sky. This would not be an easy task. The sword maiden wondered why she wanted to face the dreaded creature and put her life on risk. This enemy wasn't like other enemies she had faced, something told her that he was far more dangerous and cunning. Even with having an experience fighting against a dragon she might not be able to get through this. But, despite all those dangers, she couldn't tolerate this thing anymore. It was time to end his merciless slaughter, and she would gladly take this dangerous role. Mana unsheathed Falcatta and looked at the direction where the evil Satan Claws waited for someone to challenge him. She had heard rumor about him sending challenge for human to take him down, he surely showed great confidence that no one could beat him, she thought.
As she charged toward the arena where the demon waited, Mana hoped to see her fellow arena fighters. This things couldn't be taken down easily, she just knew that, that why she wished those strong people to help eding this chaos. But her hope for them coming wasn't high, actually. Soon, she saw a familiar face fighting a small but terrifying creature. "That old soldier is here too...Great! He is strong, he must be helpful," she thought as she glanced at him, noticing that another guy was helping the old soldier. She still remembered about him, although not in his peak anymore the soldier was quite strong.
It seemed she couldn't head for the boss directly as a minion suddenly leapt down from a roof. Mana reacted quickly, clashing her sword with the minion's twin swords. The sudden attack startled her a bit but the swordswoman kept her composure and responded with a flurry of attacks. The minion was surprisingly agile and fast enough to keep up with her speed, having two swords even gave him slight advantage when he countered. This small creature had proved itself as a tough challenge even for her, it swift and wild attacks had caused great trouble. Mana took a small leap backward before charging forward once again which the creature responded in the same way. She then swung her sword in a diagonal arc as they clashed. A painful roar filled the air as she fell to the snow, clutching her bleeding waist. Although still shaken by the fresh wound, Mana looked at the evil minion, it chest was sliced by her blade in that exchange of blows but it didn't die. "Tsk...Most humans would probably die with that wound, but I guess you are a monster, after all. Fine, I will cut you hundreds times if I have to," she muttered as she stood up, looking at the smiling demon.

A sharp pain ran down Butorega’s back as the brigand turned to see the creature holding an axe. The blow just barely missed, but left a shallow slash on the back of Butorega’s shoulder blade. To the brigands great surprise it was the same creature he had smashed earlier. It seemed to still be living even after he slammed the axe head into its skull.
“What in the world”, spoke Butorega as the creature charged again. The brigand however was ready for the assault. The beast swung with a horizontal slash aiming to force Butorega to give ground. The brigand instead waited and pulled the axe head up just as the midgets attack came by. The two axe heads collided in the air as Butorega’s axe knocked the midgets upward. Quickly the brigand brought his axe back down cleaving completely threw the little monster. As the axe passed through the monster it exploded into a mesh of smoke and light.
“Still no charms”, spoke Buotrega as he turned back toward Aurek.

Jya grimaced, she disliked magic unless it was helping her. This was definitely not the case as she saw the beings appear. At the moment, she had sneaked her way between the seats and watched the fight from on top. She only came because she was bit guilty of what she had done. With that in mind, as one of the creatures began to back against the wall, she circled around. Before long she pounced on the creature, before it realized what had got it, she already began to dart towards the group.
"Everyone alright?" she spoke, her breath coming out in bursts. It felt like Ilia and not in a good way. There wasn't enough cover within the arena itself, it made her uneasy, but she knew how to fight. It wasn't like everyone who fell to her blade didn't see it coming. Her eyes narrowed, swearing she recognized some of these people.

“Looks like someone else has come to join the party”, spoke Butorega as he took a swing at one of the little monsters. His attention was now turned on Jya, but a sudden strike from one of the little beast immediately brought him back to the battle.
Butorega blocked the incoming blow from the creature’s blade, but the amount of pressure from the attack began to make him buckle. “Strong little buggers”, spoke Butorega as he pushed back with all his might. The creature was repelled, but its next strike was already on the way.

Now, unlike nearly everyone else who had stepped out into the battle valiantly to save kittens and fair maidens with rainbows and what have you, Aelia happened upon the sudden not-so-whimsical assault by pure accident! The young archer had found herself to Bern to have a jolly old time with her normal 'random wandering' and had managed to deftly ignore the orders of evacuation as she forged her way into the city and towards the arena. And the massive throng of people heading out provided all the more reason for her to go in further! Maybe she'd see a dragon, or take part in some epic duel of Good versus Evil! Or she'd help someone challenge their fate! It was going to be FUN!
"Ow! Ow! Owwies! OWCH! Owowow! Gerrof!Ooowwww!" A woman will cry out sharply from somewhere out in the middle of the arena. Anyone who finds the protestations reason enough to divert their attention will spy that the deviant little elves' hunger for flesh was quite literal! Though, it was more the flesh of woman than just man. "I'm sorry I called your incredibly creepy smile creepy!" The young woman will whine under her breath, it seems she currently has one of the assailants clamped on to her arm with it's teeth! And despite all of the heavily clothed girl's efforts, she just cant seem to flail the darn little Satan's helper off! So, of course, her only option is to flail her bitten left arm about, do a silly little panic dance and wave her bow in her right hand as the little helper's bell hat jingle jangles a tune that fits perfectly with her misery. ""I would have taken the coal! Honest!"

Hal had heard of this 'Satan Claws' and it had worried him, the last known location was in Bern but wasn't sure if he had gone to his home or not. He couldn't take the chance of never seeing his family again so he mustered up all of the courage he had and flew towards the capital. He was eager to see the capital, the arena, and more of Bern but it would have to wait. As Elesia would say, it's 'clobberin time', Hal could see a small group of people fighting what looked to be more ants and that's when the fear kicked back in.
He had pulled on the reigns to command Sol to fly away, Sol had ignored that command. He was waiting for a specific one, to descend. He was just as excited to feast on those tasty looking midgets as they were to feast on the people down there. "Sol, I don't think I can do this." Sol only responded with a hiss.

Satan Claws had been watching his new 'toys' fight his minions, a few of them had looked to be a promising challenge. Not like those push overs these humans called guards, he had watched with a devilish grin when he noticed one of the reindeer's going nuts while looking to the sky. Taking a quick peek upwards he saw a wyvern circling the arena, if he didn't want to descend towards the battlefield than he shall let the fight go to him. Hoping from the sled he undid the harness on one of the reindeer, slapped it on the rear end and commanded it to 'sic him boy'

"Hey Butorega," Aurek commented as he attacked the ax-wielding elf. Lunge, block, spin, jump, swing, stab, block, twist. Aurek was doing his level best to avoid dying. Sure, the little guy didn't have much for reach but having to fight something so short was a problem. And the blood-thirsty thing kept gnashing his teeth and laughing. Aurek decided to try something new. He leaped forward, shield leading the way, and tackled the monster. It struggled, but repeatedly smashing his shield into the elf's face seemed effective. It's eyes rolled into the back of it's head after the eighth hit. Aurek didn't relent until roughly twenty. A dent had formed in the face. But it was still breathing. It was still alive. "Abomination," Aurek whispered as he rose to his feet. Switching his grip, Aurek began stabbing the monster all over the body, the head, anywhere on its person really. It exploded in a pretty shower of blood and a horrified scream.
"Well that's different," he added as he stared. A quick look around let him know everyone else was too busy to really take notice. A slightly longer look let him know there were actually several people fighting, including a swordswoman he recognized from the arena. He remembered, mostly because she seemed almost inhumanly fast. At least, during the short time that he saw the fights. Aurek also noticed the flailing archer. What was she thinking? She should have been standing in the back, firing like any decent archer would. Not out in the front... getting her arm eaten? Surprised, Aurek decided a little support wouldn't hurt, so he broke away from Butorega and charged the failing female. Shield extended, he slammed into the stomach of the elf causing it to release its hold on the archer. Shoving her roughly, he snarled, "Fall back and do something useful archer." Turning slowly, he realized he had just successfully trapped himself within three of the elves. But the archer would probably be safe. Wasn't worth it. Aurek thought to himself. The elves didn't even hesitate, charging at him almost gleefully. Aurek cursed.

The evil creature tried to stab Mana by leaping over her and thrusting his twin swords toward her middle. This time the swordswoman tried to get some distance by rushing away from the monster, unlike this creature who didn't seem affected by her attack, she needed to make sure the wound in her waist would be the last. "An eye for an eye, a tooth for tooth," she muttered as she unsheathed her second sword. This dual-wielding style wasn't her speciality but maybe she could mimic Yaen's style to battle this little devil. The Sacaen girl charged forward in low posture to match her opponent's height. She suddenly went at full speed which surprised the Satan Claws' minion. His blades were deflected when he tried to strike the incoming Maiden of The Blade, he then could barely fight back as she circled him like a whirlwind while showing him the death itself. Mana lost count how many she had slashed him as the girl finally stopped her barrage. The creature was incapacitated, his body was sliced and brutally destroyed by that attack. Even if he still didn't die, at least he wouldn't be able to move for a while. Mana looked pleased and walked away, touching a small cut on her cheek. "You are strong. I give you that. I didn't expect you could strike back me in that situation."
Heading straight alone to the Satan Claws would be foolish, she thought. Those minions were very strong and the Satan Claws himself would probably numerous time stronger. This evil entity couldn't be beaten by only herself, it needed cooperation and tactic to do the feat. Sighing at the realization of how inferior herself compared to this enemy, Mana decided to assist the other fighters before challenging the boss.
Mana noticed a green figure, she surely remembered that green attire. "Emerald Wraith...." she called her, glaring at the assassin. This woman had stabbed Clair, Mana's friend, but this wasn't a right time to accuse or punish her about what she had done in the past, unfortunately. "Are you here to help?" she asked.
Mana cursed when she saw Aurek trapped after saving someone from those abominations. Even with her speed she might not be able to assist him on time, which meant he had to fend off the attackers alone. The girl had some smart idea, though. She detached the Iron Rune from her belt, the emblem was a kind of war trophy from her battle with that black dragon and it had some magical protection for those who wielded it, it wouldn't make them invincible but at least it could help them fend off deadly blows. In fact, she had been saved by it in her battle with the evil minion. "Catch this, old man! And seriously, don't lose it!" she shouted as she launched the emblem toward the old soldier. It pierced through the air like an arrow.

“Little Maggot”, shouted Butorega as his left fist slammed into the face of one of Santa’s little helpers. Butorega fought hard against this one as its blades made it hard to counter. Following up on his left hook swung his axe with one hand and cut deep into the flesh of the beast. Still it continued to fight, a testament to the foul magic that was used to create them.
As the creature lunched itself forward through the air Butorega pulled down his axe. The axe sliced through the skull of the beast. Butorega turned around to see Aurek surrounded by three of the little monsters. “Aurek”, shouted Butorega as he remembered he was supposed to be helping provide support. Butorega charged in on one of the beast as its back was turned toward him. Unlike his other charges Butorega kept this one quiet. His axe pieced threw the little monsters neck before it could even pull up its guard. “One down”, spoke Butorega as he drew back his axe again.
