Name: Alden
Class: Troubadour (Male)
Hair Color: Black
Eye Color: Silver
Age: 27
Appearance: Alden is a tall man, around 6'3" in height, with dark hair that falls just above his ears. His features are strong and pronounced, giving him an outwardly masculine appearance. His forehead and eyes are large and his eyebrows are thick, but his nose is a bit slimmer than most and his mouth is average. His teeth are a tad crooked, so he prefers to smile with his mouth closed. His chin is covered in coarse stubble, as he hates facial hair but can't seem to be rid of it entirely without shaving every single day. His eyes are naturally a stark silver hue, seeming brighter in direct sunlight and the outdoors but near black within interior spaces.
The rest of his body is similarly bulky. His build is unusual to that of most healers; he keeps a fit form, with focus on his biceps and upper body strength. As a result, his arms and chest seem quite muscular compared to his torso and legs. He has accustomed himself to horseback riding and travels most places upon his horse, Lux.
Clothes: Alden wears long, white and silver robes that extend down to his ankles, with a black sash around them designed to carry his staves. He also carries a pouch around his waist, concealed by the robes, to carry any additional items. Underneath his robes, he wears a simple pair of faded gray pants and a white tunic, and worn-down sandals on his feet. His most prized possession is the necklace he wears, which has a pointed crystal at the end of its thin chain. It was given to him by a member of the Clergy in Ilia.
Born in: A small town near Arphen, in Ilia
Story: Alden was born to two grateful parents. His mother was an immigrant from Etruria and his father was a former mercenary of Ilia who quit his career due to injury. They weren't the wealthiest of people, and lived a meager life in their town, teaching Alden the importance of hard work and traditional values. His mother soon fell ill, when he was around the age of 10, and she eventually died from the sickness. With only his injured father to rely on, they soon had no one to provide income for them, and Alden was forced to begin work in exchange for food and gold. He first began a job tending to cows for a local farmer, and worked for gold, milk, and cheese. This continued for a long while, up until Alden reached age 15. By then, he had found a new passion in helping others, after ruminating on his experience with his mother and times he'd spent with other sick and wounded people. He wanted nothing more than to help everyone around him, and thus he soon found roots in the Clergy.
Alden continued work for various places to provide for himself and his father, but spent a majority of his free time studying under various monks and priests. They taught him plenty of life lessons and helped him mature and move past the death of his mother (which was still bothering him to some degree). Most importantly, though, they taught him how to use staves. With this new ability of his, he found both a motivation and a method to go forth and heal others, acting as a savior to those in need. He traveled to Arphen on a weekly basis to heal the wounds of mercenaries and pegasus knights, usually for free but occasionally charging a fee, simply with the well-being of his father in mind. This practice became his life, and his true passion. A group of mercenaries gave him horseback riding lessons over the years, and when he had amassed enough gold, he bought his horse, Lux, at age 26.
Now, Alden lives in Arphen full-time, and he travels across Elibe in search of knowledge and in hopes of helping the broken. He's a kind-hearted, quiet, and calm man who is selfless, but his selflessness gets the best of him at times and therefore he can be extremely gullible. He's also fairly simple-minded and can occasionally struggle grasping complicated concepts and difficult problems. Despite this, he tends to make friends easily and has an intense desire for adventure. Although he is grown and hardly stays in Ilia for more than a month at a time, he still loves and visits his elderly father quite often.
