It had been a while since Willow had finally learned the truth about Oya. After the encounter with Oya's mother in Saint Ies, the couple had traveled back to the mainland and were moving towards Willow's hometown, Faresh, a small village outside of Aquelia.
It had been an interesting ride back by sea, but they were thankfully unaccosted by pirates. After making landfall, they pressed inwards. Thankfully, they arrived in a small town along the road, a depot of sorts, where many roads crossed. To get to Faresh, they'd need to continue east, but Willow wanted to check with Oya to see where he wanted to go.
After buying a room at the local inn, Willow stabled Storm and went back to the room, laying on the bed and stretching out comfortably.
"Oya, how are you, dear?" Willow asked. "I don't want us to push too hard, so that we get vulnerable. We've been moving pretty quickly.
Also, I was wondering... Um, well, while we're in Etruria, would you... maybe like to go meet my parents?" Willow stammered, trying to be tactful and not press it on Oya if he was uncomfortable. She really did want him to meet her family, though... She knew that they'd be really happy for her, and it had been a while since she last saw them. Willow smiled up at Oya, hoping he'd say yes.

Oya chuckled a bit at Willow's words. "Well Willow why do you think I suggested that we go to Etruria", spoke Oya. "You did not think I was the only one who was going to show their skeleton in their closet", spoke Oya playfully. "It is only right that a man meet the parents of the woman he is dating", spoke the pirate in his normal tone of voice. "Plus I would really like to see the place you grew up. Such a place must be heaven to make such a caring person as you."
Oya words began to make him think of his own childhood. It was hard growing up on a pirate ship. Blood and death was a common thing in his youth. Violence was always a part of life for him. Now that he was with Willow it seemed the importance of it was fading. It was a bit scary to Oya, but it also was a relief. He was changing, but he did not know into what, or weather or not this was a good thing. His relationship with Willow, as far as they had come, was still fragile. Once wrong word or action could cause it all to come crumbling down. Oya's emotional wall already half broken. If Willow was to suddenly leave him he did not know how he would react to it.

"Oya... Do you really mean that? Plus," she snickered, "You'll be bored stiff in Faresh. It's only slightly larger than a pirate ship. And plus, everyone is so pious and focused on the Church... It's such a small-town atmosphere. But it's a nice change of pace."
Willow saw Oya's eyes focused far beyond her, as he seemed lost in thought. Willow looked at him and mused at his profile, and how familiar he'd become to her... And recalling her childhood, she remembered how growing up, the Church, and especially pacifistic thought had been central to her being. You were expected to look out for everyone and help anyone in need. But since she'd met Oya, she had become much more desensitized and in a strange sense accepting of the violent nature of life. However, Willow was scared that maybe she was too pure or too straight-laced for Oya... And if she were to lose him, she wasn't quite sure what she would do. Oya was too important to her... She'd support him no matter what, and stand by him through it all.
Moving over towards him, Willow smiled and said softly, "Perhaps we should rest, if we'll be leaving tomorrow to travel to Faresh... After all, it will be a good full day's travel."

"Yes you are right", spoke Oya as he stared at the ceiling. The pirate began to think about Willow and what her home town would be like. He wondered what kind of place could make a person like Willow. Oya mind drifted back to their conversation in the cave. He remembered Willow talking about her parents. They were the strict type. They had high hopes for her and wanted her to bring their family some advantage. Oya began to wonder if this was going to truly work. Oya had a good head on him, but he was not the smartest man in the world, nor was he a bishop. He did not think they would approve of him, but even still he thought they needed to go. Even if they did not like him he still needed to see them. His mother may have been a pirate, but she taught her boys some manners. One should always meet the parents of the woman you intend to merry. So even if they were long nosed church men Oya owed it to Willow to meet them.
Still Oya had to a admit Willow was bending a lot in this relationship. She knew her parents would expect a gentleman from some noble house, or a priest from the church. Instead she got some feminine looking pirate who is willing to kill an entire village just to get what he wants. It was not a good trade. The pirate began to think long and hard on the fact. In this relationship he needed to put forward some effort. Willow was compromising for him so he should at the least do the same.
"Hey Willow", spoke Oya as the pirate came to a decision. "What does it take to follow the Saint Elmine", asked Oya.

"Wha...?" Willow mumbled in astonishement. She'd been drowsing, sliding toward sleep and dreams, when she heard Oya ask about following Elimine. Shocked, she managed to stumble over her words and garble out a response. "It's really simple... All have you to do is on focus seeing the in light everybody, and try to use methods peaceful to resolve your issues. You also that acknowledge St. Elimine as the guiding light that follow you should, and you pray to her for guidance wisdom and. I'll explain tomorrow more about the process whole..."
Willow's eyelids fluttered, and she flopped backwards onto the pillow, sighing as exhaustion took over and she drifted into sleep.

"The light huh", spoke Oya as he started to drift off to sleep. He began to think of his family again and all the violence and battle they had gone through. Violence seemed to be in their nature his notes he gained from his grandfather's house told him enough about that. If peace was light then Oya and his family where the dark. "I wonder if I can walk in the light", spoke the pirate as he drifted into sleep.

---Timeskip forward to morning---
As the two rode out, along the easterly road to Faresh, Willow reflected upon Oya's choice to follow St. Elimine.
"Oya, are you sure you want to follow St. Elimine? I don't want you to feel forced, or pressured... I want you to know that I'll love you regardless of your beliefs, because I know who you are as a person. But if you really do want to become a follower... When we get to Faresh, I'm sure my parents would be more than happy to bring you into the fold. They'd really love you then, for sure," she teased.
Inside, Willow was bursting with joy... Oya, her beloved, would convert to Eliminism, and her parents would then have no qualms about them getting married and raising a family. She really was blessed.
Smiling a small, happy smile, Willow offered a silent prayer of thanks to St. Elimine for her bountiful gifts.

Oya chuckled a bit at willow's words. "I am a charming guy Willow. I am pretty sure they would have loved me even without me converting." The pirate paused for a moment and let his joke subside. He stared at the road and began to talk. "Well to be truthful Willow my decision to convert steamed from our recent journey. After we visited my mother I began to think long and hard on the state of our clan. I soon began to realize that violence ran through us like a plague. We burn, pillage, and destroy with no care in the world for those around us. We never truly stopped to think about the people around us. We never imagined how they felt when we destroyed their homes or ruined their lives. Even I was guilty of this sin", spoke Oya. "Well till I meet you", spoke Oya as he rubbed the back of his head. His cheeks lit up with a bit of embarrassment from his words. "Your really helped me to see the other side of things. The way you speak about the saint and how you act. It is different and seems to be more right than violent ways we followed."

"Oh, sure, Oya... What would you do, flash you beautifully sculpted muscles? Actually, don't do that, the village girls might faint. Or die. Or worse."
Processing Oya's words, Willow nodded, beginning to understand.
"Well, Oya... A violent nature is not something to be ashamed of. You just have to learn to control and channel it. You've got a heart of gleaming gold, I know that... You just have to follow your heart and not the raging inferno of your emotions."
Willow idly formed a small bubble of light magic, holding the gently humming sphere toward Oya.
"I wasn't always the way I am today, Oya. It took work and effort. You, too, have to put in effort... But if you do, I'm confident that you'll achieve what you want to.
I don't want you to completely change into another person... I fell in love with this Oya, not some mamby-pamby goody-two shoes bishop. Brr. But I do agree with you trying to control your feelings and walk in the way of the light."
Letting the magic dissipate, Willow saw a sign by the side of the road, pointing ahead for Faresh.
"Oya!" she said excitedly. "We're getting closer!!!"

"Thanks Willow", spoke Oya as he took in what she said. It warmed him to know that she appreciated him. He was starting to put himself under a microscope and was beginning to see himself as flawed. It was good to know that there were good things about him and that he had some worth. Still at the bottom of his heart burned a dark fear. Willow said he had a heart of gold, but would she still keep the same opinion if she knew he was the one who caused the plague. Would she still like him if she knew he was the reason he nearly died.
Oya was brought back to reality by Willow's words. "Oh we are almost there", spoke the orange hair lad.

As the pair rode into Faresh, a few faces peeked through windows upon hearing the hoofbeats. When they recognized Willow, many townspeople ran out, surrounding the pair and beginning good-natured gab and happy reunions. Dismounting from Storm, Willow gave plenty of hugs and laughs, and a few happy tears as she mingled with the joyful folk of the small town.
"Everyone, I'm so glad to see you! This is Oya, everyone. He's a herbalist, and my traveling companion, and, well, my sweetheart as well. I hope we can make him feel at home here in Faresh, right?"
Turning to Oya, Willow smiled and asked, "So how do you like the small town?" As she spoke, she looked around, at the cozy buildings and the soft grasses, feeling the gentle breeze and hearing the murmur of leaves. This was home... This was beautiful.

As Oya arrived in the town he noticed the softness that surrounded the place. It was completely different from the rugged and hard ports he grew up in. All the people greeted Willow with smiles on their face. Oya was starting to understand what Willow came from. How such a nice person came to be.
As everyone turned and looked at Oya questions began to pop up. The young man heard whispers about him and his hair. They also commented on his soft face. "Just to let you know I am a guy", spoke Oya as he then turned to Willow. "Its Warm", spoke Oya. Oya was not sure, but he felt that Faresh was going to be difficult.
