Wha-- Hold on, I'll help you! Mystigan said with some surprise, and quickly grabbed his robe and ran after the woman. The woman was either injured or very tired from running, whoever or whatever she was chasing or running from wasn't going to have much trouble with such an exhausted woman. She undoubtedly hadn't thought of being overpowered in her haste, and Mystigan was always ready to help someone in need. He tied his robe on with his belt as he ran, carefully following the woman, and took a lightning spellbook out of the book-shaped holster on his belt. He caught up to her rather easily once he had everything on, and looked over at her with a rather boyish, naive, smile.
Here to help in any way I can, beautiful. He huffed out as he ran. Hopefully he'd get to practice his magic today too, then he could go drink and not have to worry about his daily excersises.

As the man caught up to her, Charlotte nearly considered trying to lose him, but she honestly just wanted to get her bag back so she could potentially make it to her next hand-off. Losing this batch of goods would mean losing a decent amount of money, so Charlotte supposed she would use any help she could get at this point, even if it meant relying on the help of others.
“Fine,” she muttered, having decided she was not willing to take the time to fight him off. She let them around another house just as a loud commotion came from somewhere behind them. Charlotte spun on her heel, yelling for the man to keep up as she took off for the noise, somewhat surprised but relieved when she saw the thief cornered by the mounted cleric. It didn't look like he had anywhere to go.
Even as he was cornered, though, the thief wasn’t ready to give up. The man, who seemed to be carrying no weapons, procured a great darkness in his hands as he seemed to be saying something. In an instant the darkness surged into a sphere and then burst towards the cleric, with another mass being thrown in the direction of Charlotte and Mystigan. A yell erupted from Charlotte's mouth as she dashed to the side, colliding with Mystigan as they were barely missed by the magic. The collision knocked both of them to the ground, which helped them avoid another dark magic spell that was thrown their way. Whoever this man was, Charlotte thought, he did not seem to be a petty thief as she once thought. Which was great for Charlotte's ego, but bad for everyone else.

"What?!" Willow jerked herself to the side, managing to shift her body so that the darkness slammed into her side, not her center of mass. Still, it stung, and she felt the familiar cold, clammy feeling of elder magic doing its nefarious work. "You shall fall, verminous cretin, user of the vilest magicks!" Willow raised her arm, channeling the magic of her Divine tome, unaware of the two behind her, and the clouds in the sky obligingly parted, allowing a thick ray of sunlight to filter down, illuminating the cleric in an aura of light. "Omnipotent Elimine, I ask you to punish this creature, who has sinned and done evil! May your light smite him! Divine justice, DESCEND!" A flash of bright light exploded from the sky, and spears of light descended, slamming into the stone around the man and cracking the cobbles with the force of their impact. The 'rain' continued for about ten seconds before Willow, tired, cut off the flow of magic and looked toward her opponent to see the damage.

"So you really don't have any idea who I am", spoke the maiden.
"I don't", spoke Borgus as he looked at the other two men. A angered expression crossed their face as Borgus spoke. "However, I can assume that your all have some kind of grudge against me."
"Of course we do", shouted the first man losing his cool.
"It is because of you", spoke the second man as he paused. For a moment it seemed as if he was experiencing a flash back before he exploded back into real life. "It because of you that we no longer have a home."
"Yes", spoke the maiden finally as she gripped her weapon. The other two men drew theirs as well. "It is because of you and your evil that Larance Village is no more."
"Larance Village", spoke Borgus with a confused tone. "I don't remember the place."
"Don't you lie to us", shouted the second man!
"Yes we remember your face very well", spoke the first.
"Yes you are the one who killed the chief", spoke the maiden. "We could never forget your face, nor could we forget your choice in magic. No one else would defame the power of holy light and use it for such malicious deeds".
"Sorry, but I can't remember", spoke Borgus. His words cut deep into the hearts of his three assailants as the acolyte proved his lack of empathy toward their pain. "Listen you three fools", spoke Borgus. "The day your village was destroyed was the most detrimental thing to ever happen too you. For me it was just another Monday."
"It was a Tuesday", shouted the second man. He could barely keep himself in place. He wanted to charge forward and hack the brigand to small pieces, but their stratagem required that they move as one, or they might suffer from his magical attacks.
"I am sorry Tuesday", spoke Borgus. "However it does not change the fact that I don't care", spoke Borgus. The acolyte word's cut deep as all three assailants charged him at once screaming a unified chant.
"Die, Monster", they shouted as they rushed toward him!
"Novices", shouted Borgus as he raised his hand into the air creating a bright flash of light. The light flashed into the eyes of his three attackers and caused them to pause from the pain. Taking advantage of the moment Borgus ducked into a nearby alley and escaped the trio for a moment.

I had a feeling we'd become close... not quite this literally, though. Mystigan laughed with a smile, Excuse me milady. Mystigan slipped out from under her and stood facing the dark wizard with a mischievious grin. Mystigan raised his left arm, his lightning spell book in his right, and drew forth a surge of magical energy that was very much in stark contrast to the magical thief's. With a brief, yet very bright flash of light Mystigan drew a thin bolt of what seemed to be pure light from the sky aimed directly for the shaman-thief. Just before he released his attack, another beam of light slammed into the area the thief stood. Mystigan couldn't see what the effect of the two strikes had, but Mystigan was fast, and rather quick to gain an advantage any way he could and thus repeated the motion again, sending another thin bolt before he could even see his first attack's effect.
He felt comfortable. It was like he was hunting yet another bounty. He'd found the contract, so to speak, with this woman in need, then enjoyed the chase, and now he was fighting. It was familiar, and yes, definitely exciting. The acolyte lowered his arm, and ran forward to close any gap the thief had, in case the light magic had missed.

One, two, three! Dazzling light and crackling electricity thrown the way of the dark thief, there was virtually no way the man could dodge out of the way. Which honestly worried Charlotte, as he did still have her satchel on his person. The blonde-haired woman scrambled to her feet as she saw the magical attacks careen towards her attacker, and sure enough, all three made their mark, the glorious raining of light stunning the man to immobility long enough to allow the bolts of lightning to make contact with the middle of his chest.
As soon as the man fell to the ground, Charlotte ran to his side, ignoring the sizzling sound the now burnt flesh on his chest made as she grabbed for her bag. A low, drawn out moan erupted from the man as she loosed the strap from him, causing Charlotte to move with a bit more haste. As soon as she backed up from him, she opened her bag and saw the shattered glass vials, still in their individual compartments. “crap...” she cursed quietly, looking at the gold pieces that were currently seeping into the worn leather of her satchel. She carelessly let the flap close, sighing loudly as she stepped back towards her two “helpers.”
“You both got me out of a tight spot,” Charlotte lied, though she smiled and acted as if everything was fine. “Thank you so much for getting my purse back; it’s one of my favorites.” Subconsciously her hand still rest on the satchel even though there was nothing of value in it now. She looked to the two, then remembered something as she looked to the teal haired woman. “What happened to your friend?” Charlotte said, recalling that the two of them had exited the magic shop together. “Is he alright?” The young thief asked more out of curiosity than empathy, but her question certainly could have been mistaken as such.

"?!" Willow's eyes widened as she saw the man still moving. How was it that such filth had survived her purifying light? "By Elimine, fool, you should get out of here while my fury is still cool! I will smite you to smithereens!"
Hearing the woman's inquiry, Willow again stopped and did a double take. "That is a good point! We should go find him! But first, I am Willow, military cleric of Etruria. And you are?" Also, Willow gave a nod to the other user of the divine light. It was good to see that there were still users of the sacred power, who were willing to assist the completion of a task of justice.
"We must move to find the other follower of Elimine! Quickly, let us go," she encouraged, grabbing Storm's reins and preparing to ride off again in pursuit of the lost acolyte.

Mystigan stood over the writhing man, and silently watched the two women have their exchange. The other woman was certainly a member of the clergy, but Mystigan wasn't familiar with her. He did however remember the whole reason the thief had accosted the blonde in the first place; for her purse. He rubbed the back of his head silently, and noticeably sheepishly as he figured that whatever was inside was probably junk after getting hit by all that magic. After the blue haired woman rode off he sighed with a giggle. She's certainly a craz-- err, devout one. He corrected himself. He grew up around those like the Valkerie, so holy and righteous that even how they talked sounded like a prayer. While he didn't necessarily judge them for being so... weird, he certainly didn't mind joking about it.
By the way, I'm sorry, i forgot about your purse in my haste to retaliate to the thief here... If I broke anything I'd be happy to replace it or pay you back in another way. While he didn't sound as self-righteous as the other light magic user, he was genuinely embarrassed he'd forgotten about it and spoke with more formality than he should have. He looked at his boots as he apologized, cursing himself for adding to the seemingly innocent woman's troubles and hoping he'd be allowed to redeem himself in some way.

Borgus began to rush down the alleyway. It was not that he was scared of the four of them, they were pansies anyway, it was the fact that there were three of them. No one in their right mind would fight a three on one battle. It was just suicide. As Borgus rushed down the alleyway the three of them followed swiftly behind. Borgus had a lead on them thanks to his earlier distraction, but that did not really mean much. As Borgus rushed forward he turned the corner. He did not bother to look what was in front of him as it did not matter. Borgus immediately began to call upon the power of his new tome. As he finished incantation one of the men turned the corner and ran right into Borgus range.
"See you in hell", shouted Borgus as he shot forward a blast of light. The light hit the man dead in the face burning his flesh and ending his life.
"Tomas", shouted the second man as he witness his friends face get blasted with radiant light. The man and the woman stopped for a moment to cheek on their fiend, but only to find that he was dead. As they paused Borgus took off running again, but the duo was not going to let him get away. Borgus quickly turned another corner, but he did not have the lead like last time to charge a attack and wait. The Duo was hot on his trail. As Borgus looked forward he noticed the trio standing next to a man on the ground. "Oh it is you guys", spoke Borgus as he rushed forward and stopped at their location. He could use them to get rid of his problem. As he walked up he noticed the burned flesh on the man's body. "Is he dead", asked Borgus, as the words left his mouth the duo turned the corner.
"There he is", shouted the maiden as she came to a screeching halt. She stopped and looked at the man's body on the ground and saw that he had been injured with magic. She then looked at Borgus who then had a smug look on his face.
"Hey could you guys give me a hand", spoke Borgus as he began to play his card. "These brigands tried to mug me", spoke Borgus as he pointed toward the woman and the man "There were three of them originally, but iI managed to take one down."
"Lies", shouted the man, but the situation was not looking in his favor.

“Yeah, you can say that again...” Charlotte shook her head as the teal haired warrior zipped on to find her companion in the saint, the prophet, whatever it was the holy folks were praising these days. Charlotte wasn’t exactly sure who the woman was trying to get to follow her, but the blonde knew it wouldn’t be her following close behind to assist. She’d gotten herself into enough trouble already today.
While it was kind of the buff mage to offer to replace what Charlotte had lost, she doubted the man would even have the money to do so. So Charlotte simply shrugged, slinging the bag over her shoulder and waving her hand lightly. “That’s quite alright, you don’t need to do that. There wasn’t too much in here to begin with... Mostly sentimental things, really, it’s fine.”
Charlotte sighed, knowing that while she didn’t feel the need to offer her gratitude to anyone, she certainly didn’t want to seem ungracious to someone with a higher moral standard than her. “Thank you for what you did, though,” she looked down at her feet, looking to mask her pride with embarrassed gratefulness. “I guess I should stick to the main roads from now on, huh?”

Sentimental? Its fine? Mystigan was humiliated and baffled simultaneously. He'd broken or destroyed valuables to this woman and she said it was fine? She wo as either very humble or very kind, Mystigan wagered. He brought his right hand up to cover his shame, but it fell after she thanked him. Mystigan may work as a bounty hunter, but he was an honorable man-- not necessarily a just one-- and even more, he couldn't allow himself to not re-pay the woman for the trouble he'd caused her. The acolyte took her downward cast gaze as an attempt to hide her displeasure with him, and gently put his hand on her shoulder.
Please, don't hide your beautiful features from my humble gaze. I may not have much in the way of coin but my ability in combat is solid enough. You could travel on any road you pleased if I were by your side. He smiled, and winked at the woman. Mystigan was mostly selfless, if a bit of a narcisist, and was prepared to forego tracking bounties for awhile if it meant he'd be repaying the woman. She'd be able to see he was clearly genuine in his proposal.
I'd serve you for as long as you see fit. The urgency to help the blue haired woman had slipped his mind at this point. Things like this happened all the time. He'd entirely forgotten about the other person in need because of his pride (and a pretty face). He swore he'd forgotten something but couldn't place what it was. Oh well, it couldn't be that important, right?

"Oh, now that is really not necessary..." Charlotte looked up, a smile now gracing her features. While she liked the idea of having a hunk like him be personal security, it was easier to work alone when she wasn't in her usual network, which she definitely was not right now (as was evidenced by her run in with the now incapacitated mage). Besides, this guy had too good of intentions. He seemed pretty beat up about his negligence in helping to take down the thief; people like that never lasted long around her.
“I appreciate the offer, really, but, ah, I don’t really travel all that much,” Charlotte replied, beginning to spin a lie she hoped would sate the man’s need to help her. “I just came out here to pick up some things from my Da’s old cabin for my Mum.” She paused, thinking how to close off the opportunity for the man to insist. “I already sent most of it ahead with my brother, Charlie; only things that got ruined were little things of mine, nothing big.” She gave the most earnest smile she could muster, hoping the story would be bought. Charlotte was an excellent liar, but considering she still held a purse which was now stained on the inside with illegal substances, she couldn’t be sure if it would work.

As the man stopped to defend himself Borgus took the opportunity to attack. The mage shot a bolt of light at him, but he did not have the time to charge it. The light magic flew forward and slammed into the man's arm causing him to drop his weapon. The other two tried to rush in and attack Borgus with their weapons, but the apostle saw their moves coming. As the maiden swung her sword Borgus jumped back. However he was a bit too slow and the blade ended up cutting across his chest. The wound was light, but it caused Borgus to flash back to his previous battle.
"Curses", he shouted as he held his arm, which had not been cut this time. A murderous expression crossed Borgus face as he shot forward a blast of light, but his enemy saw the attack coming and rolled to his right in order to doge the attack. She swung her weapon again, but this time the apostle was able to dodge it fully. He was starting to grow weary of this woman and her old grudge against him.

"Halt, ye bandits who dare attack a follower of Elimine! I shall smite you with my glorious power! Light!"
Willow sent the cast indiscriminately, forgetting all about the two talking a few meters back. As such, she raised her right arm, drawing what appeared to be gleaming candle flames into it, then swung it down, releasing a wave of soul force that slammed into the two attackers, sending them tumbling backwards, injured but not dead, and rocketing toward the unwary thief and other acolyte who were talking.
"Come, fellow, let us finish these villains!"
Willow focused her energies, drawing more and more light into her arm until it gleamed a dull white and pulsed with radiant haze. Setting her sights on one of the downed 'bandits,' she aimed and... Was struck squarely in the back by a sword, which the female bandit had slashed her with. Uttering a roar of pain, she swiveled and unleashed her power at close range, resulting in a blinding flash and the smell of roasted flesh as the bandit fell to the ground, charred and crispy.
"By Elimine, she struck me!"
With a huff, the Valkyrie trampled over the woman and left, muttering angrily to herself.

Just as it seemed the man in front of her might say something, Charlotte gasped and brought her hand to her head, as if she’d just remembered something she had forgotten. “That reminds me! I was supposed to meet the last cart ten minutes ago!” Of course, the woman was completely lying, but she needed some way to separate herself from this strange group of mages or whatever they were. She had no interest some monk following her around, and she certainly wasn’t going to join the blue haired woman’s crusade against gods knew what.
So after patting her sides a few times to look like she was ensuring she had all of her belongings, she gave a half wave. “I really appreciate all of your help today, but I really must go.” She started jogging away, though briefly slowed to look back once more. “Thank you! Maybe we’ll see each other around!” She tried to sound as sincere as possible, but considering her only thought was finding a way to get out of here and replacing the now destroyed product that was all over the inside of her ruined bag. She’d figure something out, but her buyer was not going to be happy with her now…
[OOC: Charlotte out folks, it’s been fun]
