A small leatherbound book bounces around in Valcrist's pack. Somewhere near his sketchbook which he keeps many drawings and designs and random sketches. It appears worn and used, like someone thumbed it over time after time, leafing through the pages for any reason or another. From a casual glance, it's little more then a business ledger filled with numbers and figures and all sorts of boring paperwork where Valcrist keeps his small business transactions recorded. However, near the back of the book, he has has taken to leaving small notes next to scattered sketches. Jotting down events, thoughts, which while disconnected, give a small glimpse of what had happened in recent times.
"...there's been stories and yeah I believe them, I mean I have to since I make them, but for the longest time Ive always thought it was just like some exaggeration or something and not anything that actually happened, still I felt it, or at least I think I did, I mean I felt something, it was like my sword was trying to talk to me but that's silly since swords dont talk or anything but I could feel it in my mind, it was talking to my soul or something or not, maybe Im just tired I mean Ive had this sword for a long time now and never felt anything like that before. Do weapons really have thoughts and feelings of there own? I always believed all weapons have a certain I dunno essence or something but Ive never actually felt it like that. I should probably keep using it, see if it happens again. Or maybe not."
Name: Untitled
Magic: Anima
Tome: Excalibur
Physical Description: Valcrist's untitled windsword is a beautiful creation of the utmost craftsmanship and made with incredible care. The blade itself is a long, broad blade that appears a bit large to be held in one hand, but not quite large enough to be carried only in two. Shorter then a claymore but a bit larger than an average longsword, it appears a bit unwieldy to use but due to the nature of the winds of the blade, it's quite a deal lighter than its actual size would imply. The blade's pommel and hilt are inlaid with ivory while the silver blade itself is etched with runes of malachite that glow when the magic of the blade is summoned, or whenever it's particularly in sync with it's owner. The scabbard for the blade is made of leather and brass and coated in silver engraved designs across the scabbard that invoke the visage of griffon, a beast from tales that they tell back in Koroda. To many it's just another strange creature, but to Valcrist it's a reminder of his home.
Personality: Unlike many magic weapon, the Untitled windsword doesn't have a very aggressive personality. In fact it's very laid back, calm, and seems to simply go with things rather than cause a fuss. It doesn't react often or particularly powerfully to most things, it isn't imbued with a sense of righteousness nor is it bloodthirsty or proud. One may think it's even a lazy spirit, but that's not the case. As a result, for the longest time Valcrist never even realized that there was a spirit within the blade. It was simply a blade that responded to his will and created blades of wind. It, however, appears to respond particularly well when Valcrist make a decision based on instinct or against rationality and sticks with it, determination and assuredness. Which might explain why he hadn't seen much of it until he started becoming more confident, situations like the battle in the arena and fighting in the city of heroes are when it really began to connect with it's owner.
The blade prefers quick clean slices and scything blades of wind that slice through the air rather then blast through it, complementing Valcrist's slicing style precision strikes. However, it's clearly capable of simple creating booming gales if so desired. The wind spirit in blade causes the weapon to appear lighter to people in accepts, and heavier to those it's not particularly fond of, when Valcrist first received it the blade was cumbersome and heavy but now he swings it as swift and naturally as any other blade.
Origin: The Terris smiths of Koroda are a clan of smiths famous among the affluent of Elibe, known for extreme detail work and high quality customization on many a weapon and armor, a craft passed from parent to child for generation after generation since the founding of Koroda itself. The true talent of the Terris smiths aren't found in the frivolous and mundane work requested by nobility however, but in the creation of magical weaponry. Their talents are perfect for the detailed working of runes and the creation of enchanted items, their original reason for smithing, the Terris were a family dedicated to the creation of magical weaponry. A fact that has unfortunately been lost to the sands that they built themselves around, but something that remains true to even this day. The art of crafting magic items has been muddled and weathered with age and time, each smith more cautious than the last to take such a daunting task. For the Terris smiths of Koroda, however, it's not a talent that's dying. Merely one laying in wait.
Valcrist's Windsword was made, in particular, by his mother. The sword is new to this world, with no tale or legend of it's own, leaving it up to Valcrist to give it one worth telling.
