"Maybe I should have let the bandits take me..." Lynessa thought as she rubbed her jaw, forcing an awkward smile. It seemed she displayed too much strength that these gentlemen wouldn't stop mentioning it. But they hadn't realized the real reason behind her superhuman strength so maybe it was still safe. Chuckling, she reminded herself how weak she actually was in this form, without the magical power from the dragonstone her strength was on par with average human woman, maybe weaker. "I am not that strong," she said, smiling. "I think I was just lucky." Not sure if playing modest was the best choice for this situation but the dragon believed she had to say something to explain to them.
The knight commander seemed to be a honorable man, pretty good looking and dandy too. Lynessa appreciated his offer to escort her to the town. While it might not be necessary since the ice dragon would be perfectly safe even without his help, Lynessa decided to go with the knights. She was a bit reluctant at first. Sure, these gentlemen had helped her but they just met today. Was it alright to go with them? Was it alright to trust them? "Bad habit. I shouldn't doubt them..." Lynessa shook her head as she reprimanded herself. "These two are good men, probably. It wouldn't hurt to go with them...." she thought.
Lynessa listened Merio talk about some meal, which seemed to make Perrun excited. And for some reason she had a feeling the red knight would bankrupt himself today. Anyway, the ice dragon was interested with this idea. After all, the reason she came to Tania was about food. "Sir, if possible, I would like to join when you go eat...But of course only if it wouldn't be troubling you. Actually, my reason to come here is to buy some of Tania local spices and products, which are pretty famous my village," she said as she approached the great knight, smiling gracefully. "It would be nice to have a chance to taste some local food. Maybe if I am lucky I would be able to learn some of the recipes as well."
"Aaah, where is my manners...Things were pretty chaotic so I forgot to introduce myself. I apologize. My name is Lynessa Heartwater. Nice to meet you..."

"Do not fret good sir, I insist it's on me." He said, grinning at the man. It was true that it might be a dent in his wallet, but he offered and he intended to follow through on the offer. He wouldn't go back on his word, it was against the knight's code, against his code. In his life he had but a few goals, and one of them was to become a chivalrous knight like that of his cousin Rayl. At times it was tough, but it was a lifestyle that he only could not live if he himself chose not to.
There were many things in his life he could not control, things beyond the scope of any mere man. Bandits assaulting the innocent, monsters plaguing his kingdom, friends who have died right in front of his eyes, the weight he carried around that he had no reason to keep, these feeling of... There were many things beyond his control, dreams that have died or have changed over time as both he and the world changed, but this? A simple conscious choice to be chivalrous, gallant, to be a knight to protect the innocent and defend his land? That was something he could choose, that he did choose. It was cheesy to be sure, both his reasoning and the way he acted some times, but there was nothing wrong with being cheesy from time to time is there? Personally he had a soft spot for the corny and contrived. Then again he wasn't much of a fan of surprises.
So he wore a wide grin, a kind of pride swelling in his chest. It was a job well done, the bandits were routed and they even captured one. There were snags, but no one died. Not even that cool old man. Ugh. Now he hated himself. "Whatever the situation, I am pleased you were unharmed my Lady." He turned to her with an easy grin. "I am Ser Merio Calderon, Knight-Captain of Tania of the Lycian League at your service." He said his full title, bit of a mouthful but it was polite to properly introduce yourself.
"You are more then welcome to join us in town." He extended the offer to her, she didn't look like she ate much compared to Perun so whatever sort of dent to his finances he was about to receive he sorely doubted adding her along will do much to add to the damage. She was here to buy spices, well that made sense. Their spices were one of their chief export, the somewhat unique weather and temperature of the area made the area well suited to grow certain types of hard-to-grow plants.
"I can give you a ride to town if you wish." He says, offering a seat on his steed. The armored stallion was a sturdy and even somewhat intimidating beast, dark brown eyes from behind metal gaps in its armor. The horse itself was white in color, and carried a somewhat standoffish attitude. It wasn't a bad horse, but it clearly wasn't very friendly, he listened to whatever Merio told him but outside that... It wasn't the time, Merio nudged the horse in the side and it nickered in resignation. "Don't worry, he doesn't bite." He said jokingly before laying a hand on the horse's head and suddenly having the most serious deadpan face possible. "Isn't that right boy?" He asked the horse, and almost as if it was sighing the horse nickered again, shaking its head. He was difficult sometimes, but usually not this bad. This girl seemed to spook him a bit, it was odd but he wouldn't have it.

"Thank you, Sir," Lynessa replied with a polite smile. The knight then introduced himself. It was a pretty long title although not too hard to remember. Did knights always have those fancy introduction? "I am honored..." she added. The ice dragon wondered why the kind knight seemed so pleased. Maybe he was glad his skirmish went well or something? By the way, she was a bit surprised her request get accepted. Sure, it was a small request but she had expected it would have been too much to ask to a busy knight.
Lynessa thought for a moment about the offer. This was more that what she had expected. She didn't mind walking a bit to the city but to be honest riding on a horse sounded less tiring. Her hesitation came from how there would be no distance between them when riding on his horse, if the road was a bit rocky she might have to cling to him as well. Riding with a knight in shining armor was probably every women's dream, Lynessa included. But it wouldn't be considered as cheating, right? Riiight? The ice dragon also believed Merio simply wanted to treat her well as a gentleman, which so far he had been doing perfectly. He didn't seem to harbor ulterior motive. Her expression relaxed as she raised her head and looked at Merio. "I am going to take up that kind offer, Sir Calderon. To be honest, I am a little curious how riding with a knight feels. You know...Those storybook things about knight in shining armor..." she said, chuckling. She hoped he wouldn't get a wrong idea.
The ice dragon smiled to the horse, hoping by showing friendly attitude the horse would feel more relaxed around her. She wasn't surprised it felt a bit scared near her. Animals had sharp sense so they could feel danger or potential threat near them, and in this case she couldn't blame the horse for feeling uneasy near her, a dragon, the strongest predator in the food chain. "Your horse doesn't seem to like me, though. Will it be really alright if I ride with you?" Lynessa tried to approach the horse, intending to pat its head, but then decided to stop, she wanted to give the horse some time until it could accept her.

It seemed Perrun was silent for whichever reason or another, perhaps he was simply besides himself at the prospect of devouring enough food that it would put Merio in bankruptcy forever. That was a joke. Hopefully. It seemed the lady was wanting to ride with him, alright now he looked the part of the shining knight upon a shimmering steed. Or something close to shimmering at least. Maybe a bit glowy? Oh well, didn't matter. "I can't say, I've never ridden with a knight myself." He chuckled lightly. He wondered for a second, was it supposed to feel like something? Was he supposed to do anything special? He wasn't planning on doing anything special, but now that she mentioned it he couldn't help but feel like he was supposed to. "I hope I do it justice."
No Merio, don't over think this. You love to do that, it wasn't the first time he had someone ride with and assuredly it would not be the last. He never did anything special in the past, and it stood to reason he shouldn't now. Yes, that made sense. He mentally nodded at his assessment of the situation. The lady Lynessa mentioned his horse, and his tapped that horse of his on the side, almost as if he was slightly swatting him. "Oh don't mind Jam here, he's just a grump. He's really a sweet horse once you get to know him, but if you don't he can be a bit of a pain. He'll let you ride though, isn't that right Jammu?" He asked and prodded the horse with the side of his foot, the Nabatan Charger neighing in resignation. When she reached out to pet it, the horse cringed a bit, but didn't do anything to stop it. It might have bit her if Merio wasn't there, but he was. To Jammu Merio was the most important person in the world, and he always listened to his rider, even if it was unpleasant for the steed.
"See?" He said with a grin. He was almost teasing the horse with that more then reassuring Lyn, that wasn't so bad was it Jam? "Allow me to assist you up my lady." He said as he held out a hand for the woman to take hold of and hoist herself on the horse. A typical Lycian warhorse could seat at least two people comfortably, as it was not uncommon for Paladins and Knights to carry people with them, be it dignitaries, civilians, or injured compatriots to the nearest healer. The saddle's were specifically designed to accommodate this, assuming one of the two people weren't abnormally large, and where large then the rider alone would need. She wasn't particularly large, so she would have no trouble comfortably seating with him, assuming she has no issue being so close to him. Some women got really... flustered at the thought. Merio always thought it was kind of cute, but that was neither here nor there. He was a chivalrous knight, and would brook no untoward thoughts toward one in his care, be it other's or his own.

Lynessa had a feeling that Jammu was simply tolerating her presence for Merio sake but she tried not to think too much about it. Slowly retreating her hand to not surprise the horse with sudden movement, she stepped backward. "Smart horse..." she smiled kindly. It might take forever to convince the sensitive horse that she wouldn't eat him, though.
The knight, again, acted gentlemanly by offering his hand to help Lynessa. Although she seemed a bit hesitant at first, the violet-haired woman finally reached out and took his hand. Because she rarely rode horse for traveling, Lynessa had a little difficulty getting herself on Jammu even with Merio's help. It was tough to adjust herself to the seat without clinging to the kind knight too much but somehow she managed to do it successfully. The horse was quite large so there was plenty of space on the saddle for them. "I am honored, Sir," she said as she put her hands on Merio's shoulders and tried to adjust her long skirt.
"Well, this is quite different from what I imagined...It feels very...normal?" Lynessa seemed amused, giggling like a little girl. Normal, indeed. There wasn't any special emotion she could get from riding with Merio. Maybe it was because the rider? Would it be different if the rider was her husband or someone special? However, she didn't seem too disappointed after her childish expectation was shattered. "I am sorry for being childish, Sir."
"By the way, is it always like this? I mean your job... Do you go routing and capturing bandits often? I don't know much about Tania but the area around my village in Ilia is relatively peaceful. Sure, there still are some bandits there but it seems the land of best mercenaries in Elibe isn't profitable to them, too much resistance and less helpless villagers." Lynessa, whose hands still clinging to Merio's shoulders, asked the dandy knight with some curiosity showed in her eyes.
-----------
Later, Lynessa would spend time with Merio and company. She even had good time chatting and laughing with them. After giving invitation to visit her tavern in Ilia to the good men, she left them to continue with her quest.
