"Er... join a group of assassins?"
Neil's eyebrows arced so steeply that they almost formed carats. It was almost beyond belief. What kind of a hare-brained idea was that? Joining a group of assassins? Taking the feather, the shaman secured it in his cloak, weaving it into one of the seams.
"That's ridiculous. Joining up with a bunch of killers? Vincent, we've only just begun fighting for real, and we're trying to be the heroes here. Not some sort of cloak-and-dagger murderer who will slay anyone for a coin and a smile. You can go off and join up with these featherbrains. I'll stay and hunt down those Ilians."
Pulling his hood down, Neil started walking faster, shaking his head. Joining up with some assassins... And he thought that they understood each other. How could he have been mislead? Vincent would get himself killed working as an assassin... That, or lose his morals entirely.
What would he do?

"Hey! I never said I was going to join them!" Vincent doubled his pace in order to catch up to Neil. "But at the same time I firmly believe we are going to need to do something about them. If they are following us it could very well turn into an issue if we make them mad." Besides did Neil have a right to get upset over the very idea he is the one out on a manhunt?
"If you want to stay and go on a manhunt then fine. But I suggest getting all the facts straight before you make an enemy of the Illians. I however don't want to hunt those knights down.I think they were innocent."

"Oh, don't you worry. I'll make sure I know all the facts. I'll figure out exactly who did it, and I will slay all responsible."
Entering the town proper, the shaman turned to his mercenary friend.
"You can tell these assassins that it'll just be you. I'm staying here... I have a job to do. Don't worry, I have no doubt I'll live to see you again. I'll find you somehow once I'm done here and ready to move on. And if you need me... Send word for Gressil, and I'll head to your aid."
Neil shook his head.
"You should go find them. They're no doubt skilled with blades, so they can help you grow stronger. I'll find a way to grow on my own... Just remember, you've got to stay alive to come and see Verrine with me when he calls, do you hear me? Don't go and die on me."
Smiling wistfully at his friend, Neil noticed his sword, and his eyes strayed to it. A glint appeared in his eyes, and he motioned towards the large center square of town, where there were a few people milling about on the edges.
"How about one more, for old time's sake, before we part? Who knows when we'll meet again... We'll see who's stronger, Vincent. One more for the road."
