A stack of worn papers bound between a worn weatherproofed book rests on the table. They range from journal entries to musings on situations or artifacts she's encountered, to descriptions of people, to letters addressed sent and received.
Name: Unknown, Clair refers to as simply, the Thunder Lance
Magic: Anima
Tome: Thoron
Physical Description:
A spear just over seven feet in length, golden in color. Occasional sparks of lightning seem to ride up and down its length, jumping from the tip of the spear to the small barbs just under the head, and running down the length of the shaft. These intensify when the wielder becomes agitated, or when it senses that there is a situation arising that it will be used in. The spear head is long and narrow, designed to pierce the armor before widening out towards the back to keep it from becoming lodged in a victim. Underneath the head are to barbs parallel to head of the spear. If someone were to foolishly try to reach out and grab the lightning spear on the shaft just under the head, they'd find themselves gripping a pair of sharp spikes which are one of the prime place where the lightning lets itself loose. The shaft of the spear itself is of little note, except for its glistening golden color, like the rest of the weapon. Inspect it closely, and it seems to take on multicolored hues, like that of a tiger-eye stone. At the bottom, a small rounded counterweight is all that adorns the back of the spear. In all, its construction has it weighing roughly the same as a typical weapon made of military steel though it seems far harder, and looks as though it should be heavier.
Personality:
The Thunderlance, as Clair refers to it, excels at one thing on its own: punishment. It's personal goals are to find those in need of judgement, those who have avoided their fate too long, and to deliver their due. Killing the helpless does not nourish its hunger, nor does fighting for the sake of fighting. To be sated, it must find someone deserving of death or some dreadful punishment and release their fate upon them. While it has its own set of parameters to find its targets, its wielder can begin to influence its goals if they are at least of a similar mindset to the weapon. This influence goes both directions, and someone noted for their level headed nature might find themselves becoming frenzied at the thought of meting out judgement. Someone merciful might strike blows which before they would have held back. Someone cautious might suddenly leap forward in displays of zeal. Above all things, it is eager to fulfill its purpose, whatever and whenever it might get the opportunity to do so.
Origin:
Clair discovered the Thunderlance on journeying into the ruins of the Etrurian Fortress of Salvation Point, in Sacae. As she and the exploratory party searched the ruins, she came across the glistening golden weapon in the rubble inside one of the fort's structures. Fascinated by something a little unnatural about it, and puzzled as to how such a weapon could have arrived there in the years since, she took it. It was amidst the following fight, where numerous giant spiders swarmed over and around the group that she found and unlocked its power. The weapon almost seemed to whisper to her, speaking to her mind in a language that she couldn't understand, but allowing her to make use of its devastating powers of lightning. She unleashed its full power that day, tearing asunder the flesh that its bolts struck with ease and nearly overloading her own nervous system as it directed its power through her to the rest of the threats around her. Since then she has taken it for her own and has learned to use its powers, albeit on a smaller scale from that destructive day. She is interested in learning more about the history she is certain that it possesses, but hasn't put forth the time or effort to begin searching upon arriving in Bern.

A rough sketch of a lance with a narrow but heavy head is drawn. It widens near the back, flaring out like a giant arrow head. A couple of barbs stick out a few inches past the spear head. At the bottom, the butt of the lance is a ball shaped counterbalance. A couple more sketches give a rough scale of somewhere around the vicinity of seven to seven and a half feet in length. A few notes are scrawled across the pages, with final set of pages describing it in more detail.
"Design more suitable for ground combat than mounted, due to balance and weight."
"The lance is made of some strange metal. It is golden, though it is harder by far than any gold I have seen. More reminiscent of steel, but with an odd shine or gleam that it alsways seems to have about it. Likely characteristic of the magic inherent to it."
"It's dangerous to touch. A few mishaps have led to surprise, though no injuries yet thankfully. It frequently throws sparks. I've even found my own fingers throwing sparks at times. Even when I've not handled it for a time.
