With each day that passes, the Bernese Civil Rebellion continues to grow in scale. While Ilian officials initially dismissed the rebel movement as a short lived, small scale, easily squelched revolt, the chaos of the Massacre of the Arena followed by the fall of Fort Macendew to the rebel forces of Aidan Lowell, the so-called Symbol of the Rebellion, has forced them to reassess the situation. Security has begun to crack down in western Bern, but Aidan's major victory has emboldened citizens discontent under Ilia's occupation to rise up and fight back, spreading the fires of rebellion across the countryside.
This has marked a major shift in occupier politics, as Ilia has commanded its own forces and those Bernese loyal to them to prepare for all out war. Security forces in the west have increased their presence and activity to compensate for the loss of territory, but find themselves continually battered by rebel uprisings. Occupying forces have begun to bolster their forts along the Rhine River, attempting to create a wall of safety between western Bern and eastern Bern while they plan their attack.

The Ilian council had felt the war in Bern had gone on for too long. With the rumors of increasing skirmishes with Eturiran forces on the border they felt it would be in the best interest to pull all of their troops from Bern and surrender.

With the withdraw of Ilian forces, the Rebellion moved into Castle Bern with no resistance. Peace begins to settle after a shaky adjustment, and Bern looks inwards to repair the wounds their constant conflict has brought. A well earned rest settles into the war-torn nation of Bern. William Saint was removed swiftly, and the Rebellion, led by Aidan Lowell, brought in a new ruling establishment.
The first Senate of Bern. This Senate is led by Consuls, people of importance within Bern. High ranking Nobles, officials of great worth, and the three Dragon Generals. These individuals are responsible for various aspects of Bernese life and are to bring the will of the people more directly into the governing system that now leads Bern. With their military unified once more, they seek to consolidate their forces and rebuild from the cost of war and heavy scaring left from previous conflicts.
