"Thank you, Dassin."
"It is nothing. Expected when nothing but storm for children to fall sick first."
Seven cases of fevers within both villages collectively. He readjusted his cloak as the door opened. No effort at all: Just undo the hinge and the poor wooden frame would be pushed back by vorpal winds and a cold strong enough to knock out grown men if they weren't prepared. It's unfortunate that a town like this, in the middle of nowhere, has little to help but little Dassin. Sure, he has horse and can travel from one place to the other without any issue. But on the other hand, Dassin does not have axe to defend the villagers with. And as sad as it was, staff made flimsy job for dealing with children with fever. He can trip them over when they are too fast, or hit them lightly when they are too loud. Even heal them when they are too much crying from a paper cut. But when they are too sick? Nothing. It is disappointing to be able to do so little for town.
It is good that snow has at least stopped bandits from attacking, but not caravan from bringing supplies. No need to have mercenaries stationed here. Even one or two from a friendly group would be too much money to spend. But enough of that! Dassin's chores are done, and he has no need to worry about the villages. They can handle themselves, Dassin trusted his friends. He had better things to look forwards to! Like right now!
He went down the main street and into a small home on the outskirts of town. If all went well, there should be a new shipment of books from last night. A new addition to his evening's readings!
