The Isles were well known to be the home to many a pirate crew, it was almost ridiculous how many there were. Although crews would rise and fall quickly, only the strongest crews sailed daily, and beyond them, new pirates ready to make their marks on the world. That was why she was here, Caledonia, the most ruthless of the isles. There was not a person here who was not prepared to fight to get whatever he or she wanted. That was the crux of her plan, fighting to get what they wanted. Sir Durrandon had a fine plan and idea of what to accomplish, but he certainly did not have the might to back it up, and he couldn't rely on hired mercenaries forever.
So Morgan was here, without telling him, hoping to find ambitious pirates who were tired of pillaging the same merchant ships every day. Pirates who wanted to accomplish something, and were willing to fight for it. First, she needed more muscle, because her own pirates were more about taking down the enemy quickly and strategically. Stronger allies would make gather more pirate crews together a lot easier, but only the ambitious ones. The ones in it for riches would have to wait.
So here she was, no fake beard this time. On this island, there was no difference between man and woman. Although, she still kept the appearance of a man on principle. The ambiguous look could be useful in acquiring the aid of both men and women crews. The first order of business was to gather information, and the main port's pub, the Rusty Bucket, was always the best source of information in this area. She went inside the pub and ordered a drink, looking around for potential recruits.

There hasn't been day since that Cefia had as much fun as it was with a proper crew. She had been unemployed for far longer than she liked, being forced to take up jobs on land as a mercenary. It was downright demeaning for her as far as her pride went. As soon as she gathered some money to spare, she had hitched a ride straight to Caledonia. It was a pleasant enough port and she even recognized a few faces. Of course her first stop after a log and tiresome journey was straight to the pub for a few drinks.
When she had entered, she found herself a welcoming seat, laying down her luggage and books. There were a few glances, but she ignored them, ordering herself a large mug of rum. Unlike the other ruffians that were loud and chattering, she simply slumped back into her seat, taking a few sips while reading one of her books. She was planning on finding a crew after unwinding just a little.
Many of the patrons noticed the axe she carried with ease and noted not to bother her too much. At least that was the case with the more sober ones. Perhaps he had one too many or it was worth the risk, but whatever the reason, he stumbled over and wrapped his arms around her shoulder. She ignored it, tolerance was a virtue after all. It wasn't until he opened his mouth, did she became irritated.
"Hey pretty, why don't we go and get a room just for ourselves," he asked, a wide open mouth grin on his face. She gave a curt smile and a shake of her head as a decline. He kept goading her though, going so far as to take a gulp of her own drink. She let out a sigh. It was unfortunate, apparently people called her a beauty, but she just called it her face or are these men just that desperate for a woman?
"Okay, close your eyes and pucker your lips honey," she said, her voice seething. He listened and did as she said. As he waited, she stood up her two legs, balled her hands into a fist and sent a fist straight at the face. The crack of bones was clearly audible as the man's head flew back. At least it was quick and merciful. Some of the other patrons cheered and laughed. Her? She sat back down, opened her book and began to go back to her drink. She didn't even bother to wipe the blood on the back of her hands.

There was a bit of disturbance in the pub, nothing unusual for this area for sure. Morgan looked over to see what the center of it was. A man out cold on the ground clocked by a young woman. Sounded about right for Caledonia, the only women here either knew how to hold their own, or servant girls forced here against their will. The woman here however, she looked like she didn't have a crew. The ones cheering for her were already in the pub when Morgan came in.
She stood up and walked over to the lady. "Nice hit. Mind if I have a seat?" She said, not bothering to hide her feminine voice. This pirate looked completely out of place, and she was even reading a book no less. Morgan was pretty sure very few of the patrons in this building could begin to claim they could read. Then again, there were also very few patrons who could hold a candle to the flame that was the woman's beauty, most either had scars or bulges somewhere on their faces. It almost seemed like the ugly people were drawn to piracy like moths to a flame. This woman certainly seemed like quite the enigma, but it didn't matter who she was to Morgan, as long as she was willing to fight.
Just in case the woman was resistant to anyone's approach, she decided to state her business before it was asked of her. "I'm looking to recruit for a group of mine, if you have a captain, I wouldn't mind speaking with her. My name is Morgan Jones, Captain of the Golden Pride."

Well at the next person to approach wasn’t downright drunk and looking for an easy hookup for the night. Cefia glanced up from her book, noting her place at the moment and closed it. If it was about business of some sort, she wasn’t crazy enough to let a chance slip by. An offer to join a crew wasn’t something she scoffed at in her current situation. There was no way she was going to return to her parents’ business.
“Feel free,” she stated, tucking her book away, her voice much calmer and less likely to tearing heads off. She was even considerate enough to give a proper smile. She had also relaxed a bit more as she leaned forward as though to whisper some trade secret.
“One would think that these patrons were bright enough to notice the axes,” she joked, leaning back at the end of the comment. There were time for jokes and a time to be relatively serious, so she straightened herself up on her seat.
“No, unfortunately, I don’t have a crew,” she stated rather begrudgingly and letting out a sigh. “If ye need some muscle, I gunna be grog-filled to lend me services,” she offered, her tone changing to that of a jolly ol’ sailor. For a moment, she paused, the transitions always seem to catch her rather off guard. She coughed a bit as though clearing her throat before continuing.
“I be always lookin' fer adventure 'n a challenge, if ye can offer that much, I gunna be honored to join,” she continued and then pausing for a moment. She swore that there might be a few screws loose in the language portion of her head.

Morgan smiled and sat down next to the lady. It was rare to find someone charitable on the island, and Morgan was not going to deny it. "Thank you, it's nice to see that not everyone around here is a drunken mess." She took a sip of her own drink that she had brought with her.
The lady mentioned having her axes showing, but Morgan found a small contradiction she couldn't help but point out. "You know, not everyone is going to have their weapons visible." She opened her jacket to show the axe handle on the inside. "Your axes do look a lot higher quality than my simple thing though."
Then came the business talk. Just as Morgan had suspected, the woman didn't have a crew to speak of. "I'm in need of muscle, yes, and you seem to have shown yourself capable. I'm a pirate captain on my own, but my crew is also currently hired by a man named Orys Durrandon, an ambitious man looking to change the world, starting with the Western Isles it seems. I'd like to get a foothold on this island at some point, but that can wait for when we have larger numbers. For now, I'm looking to just expand my own crew." She chuckled a little. "And I'll throw in a drink to sweeten the deal. I can definitely promise adventure and challenge, I've still got a few wounds from the last battle we were in, but I'd prefer not to ever show weakness on this island, I'm sure you can understand that."

When Cefia thought that she had totally failed her job interview, it seemed as though Lady Luck was smiling on her this fine day. If all she had to do was punch a man unconscious to get a job then she'll be set for life. All she had been looking for was a fair crew that let her do what she knew best, bashing heads in or lopping them off. Well she could do a lot more than that, but if the employer wasn't interested in more than just muscles than she assumed she didn't need to explain. The woman was even kind enough to offer a drink. Well she did lose a big gulp to the idiot drunk that tried to pick her up.
"I guess you could say that, I swear axes come and go as quickly as my gold," she responded, looking over at her weapons. As far as she was concerned, when she first picked up the Dragon Axe, it weighed like a ton, but it tore away scales quite nicely and she never knew when she might have to fight a wyvern. She also had to pay a pretty penny for the other axe after losing her steel one a while back. All that really mattered was how easy it was to smash someone's face in.
"It's a pleasure to be working with you Captain," she said, offering her hand out for a handshake to solidify their dealings.
"I'd be happy to take you up on the offer for the drink," she smiled, easing up to a more casual way of talking. She wasn't exactly sure which method of speech she should use, but quickly decided that the best one was the one that didn't get her kicked out.

Morgan shook the woman's hand, they both had firm grips, proof that they were probably more powerful than a lot of the men in the building. She motioned the bartender for a round for the two of them, watching closely as the drink were brought in front of them. A nice rum for herself, and a thick grog for the lady. It was a good day for her to have found someone who was so powerful so quickly.
"So what's your name? And do you have a nickname, like 'the Berserker' or something?" This would be a lot easier if she were known among the pirates, but it didn't seem that way. If not, they would have to work on that, build up their fame in the Isles until they were feared pirates. Then it would be much easier to get the pirate leaders on their side.
"I think, the first thing we'll do after our drink, is look for a few other potentials. If we can't find anyone, I'll take you to meet my leader, Orys Durrandon. He's just an ambitious man, but he needs money for his ambitions, so I'm heading the pirating in his so-called 'Ambition'. I don't know if we'll stay with him just yet, but he's intriguing... And there's certainly plenty of adventure and battles when you're around him, he can't stay put in one place without picking a fight with local leaders long enough." She gave a hearty laugh. Durrandon was the kind of man you expected to find face first in a pool of his own blood in the aftermath of some war, but somehow he survived instead of dying like a dog as expected. It was curious.
