A man at the farm turned his head to address whom was yelling at him. The man appared to be an elderly farmer. He had a anverage build, a long white beard, and short hair. From out in between the crops a few more people poked there heads out, probably the rest of the man's family. From his view a long tall man and a young miss who was doing all of the shouting, was standing just outside his property. Deciding to answer the young one's question he shouted back.
"Aye! This be Saldean Farm!" He waved them over. Once the two had approached him.
"So you lot be lookin for a place to rest yer weary heads? That don come cheap. You gotta work to eat. Name's Joe. Tell me sumthin young'ns how'd ye hear of us?"
Aeos took alook around at the man's farm. The main farmland out in front of his house appeared to be that of wheat. The long tall stalks of the plant stretched high up past there heads. A good sign of this place's fertile lands. From the distance he could hear the sounds of chicken, pigs, goats, horses and sheep. The property appeared to be rather large compared to the other farms around the area. The house which he assumed everyone lived in was a cozy thing. A two floor house from what he could see, with a hay and moss thatch roof and log walls. He spied signs of disrepair. Near that was a small shed which he assumed tools needed to keep the farm going. Beyond that he could see the dome shaped roof of a silo.
"Ah, yes sir. A sir Harold sent us. He said that thou might be in need of aid." He thought for a moment.
"Oy you gots a funny way of talkin." Spoke Joe.
"Ah.. my apologies. I.. wast never..given good instruction on modern tongue." Aeos bowed slightly.
"Introductions yes? I am called Aeos and the young lady here is called Bee." Aeos gently motion his hand to Bee's direction. Joe didn't know much about the lives of these two folks in front of him. Other then both of them had odd names and were most likely not from Lycia. But the world was full of people and he was not one to judge a person's origins. He did know a respectable man when he saw it, even if he spoke oddly. Aeos looked strong, he could probably use him for some of the more laborious work around the farm.
"Well spose an't no changin the past on that one. So what can you two do?"
"Hmm.. well.. I be honest with thee sir. I am not familiar with farm work. My home.. wast not rich in crops. So I learnd other tasks to aid the family. Ave been told I be a good cook. The sailors I traveled with raved about my food sir. If thou needs me to repair thy window, walls, chairs, tables. Things oft that nature I can fix it with proper supplies. I be willing to learn how to till the soil. I can milk goats..." Aeos was counting off on his fingers until Joe interrupted him.
"Can ya chop wood?" Joe asked.
"Yes sir."
"Good cause i'll start ye off with that. Ya finish, you can help the boys dig out a new well or help em shovel manure on the crops. I'll see what we've got in the shed about fixin up some furnishings. And if ye got time, maybe help the wife out with some dinner. Sound good?"
"That sounds fine sir. And thank you." Although all of the tasks Joe spoke of sounded difficult. Aeos was confident he could get them done. Joe then turned his attention over to Bee.
"Well now missy what can yah do?"

When the man came up Bee let Aeos do the talking. As much as Bee loved attention she knew she did not have a silver tongue. The more she talked the more the man would probably want to simply get rid of her. Though she could not blame him if he did. Bee understood that her addiction was not the safest of addictions to have. However the flames were so beautiful and they gave her such a calming feeling when she stared into them. However fire was not good for crops and as a result farmers did not like fire. Or people playing with fire. So that meant that when Bee did talk she had better not mention fire, but fire was so cool. It danced, shinned, warmed, and burned. How could anybody not simply love fire, but there were some. Some people who just found the chaos far too dangerous, but the danger is what made it beautiful.
"Well what I can do", spoke Bee as she put her index finger on her mouth. "Well I can cook", she spoke as she began to go through her list of skills. "I can make fires, put out fires, weld things together, put in a window, cut wood, make hair jell, and read and write. Unfortunately I have no skill with the sewing wheel or with the pin and needle."
It was a pathetic list Bee knew, but that was all she knew how to do on a common farmer level. If you asked about all her skills she could tell you about the different types of fire and inform you on the tempeture of a flame simply by its color. She could also tell you a good degree of magical theory and several volumes worth of magical experiments run by shamans. However magic was useless to a farmer. Well not useless, but its application and theory was far beyond their comprehension. They lived by the land and followed its laws and methods. They performed there own spells and from the dirt they brought forth life. It was a amazing thing farming. Though Bee did not look forward to learning its secrets. She would rather use the coin she had gathered to stay in a Inn or something, but instead she was here.

Joe stared for a moment at Bee. His hand scratching his chin while he thought of a place to put Bee. Welding wasn't exactly a skill he needed at the farm, at the moment.
"Alright. Bee, ya gots a strange name but ave heard stranger. An't never have any hair jelly it don't sound tasty one bit."
"Right, you go help out the girls. They be out picking eggs, milling the grain, or preppin meat for supper ya can take yer pick of what ya wanna do. Afta that you can go help out with the housework. Yah can help with the laundry. Since ya seem to be good with fire, give old Nan a hand with the cookin. If there still be daylight left ye can get to mendin the window sound good?"
Satisfied that he had found a proper place for these two new helpers he promptly began pointing them out to their stations.
"There's lots of us in the family so space will be a bit cramped. Got some members sleepin on hay bales in the barn. Don't got enough blankets to go around. But you lot are guests so we'll find a place for ya to sleep near the fire. Right then Aeos, your coming with me to the choppin block. Bee you go around out to the barn and find my eldest daughter Jen. She'll point ya to what needs doing. Oh and if yah need a cool drink just walk up to the back of the house. Should have a barrel full of fresh water on reserve, till we get the well in order."
Aeos listened as he followed the man out towards a small wooded area. That he family used to chop wood for the fire. There was a well worn axe jabbed into the stump of a fallen tree. A small stone on a rotar used for sharpening said axe and piles of twigs and logs scattered around.
"Alright lad. Need that whole pile of logs behind you chopped in half, the long way. Then need yah to cut more logs from the thick branches around ya. If the axe needs sharpening well that's what the stone is for. You can hang yer cloak and stuff on the tree over there. Shed with the tools is right over there." He pointed.
"If you got any questions yah can give a holler for one of my boys Jim and John. There right over there in the distance diggin out the well." He gave Aeos a pat on the shoulder before he went walking off back to his work on the field.
Aeos thanked the man again before heading over to the tree and hung his cloak, and bag. He stretched a bit and cracked his knuckles. He tied his long hair back into a low pony tail so it wouldn't get in the way while he worked. He took a quick moment to calm himself. He needed to remember to keep a limit on his strength. Once he felt comfortable, he walked back to the stump and pulled out the axe. Then promptly got to work chopping the large pile of logs assigned to him.

"Understood", spoke Bee as she rushed off to find Jen. Everything seemed to go well thought the farmer mistaken hair jell for hair jelly. What in the world was hair jelly anyway. Well it was a speech error so there probably was not hair jelly. Though if there was hair jelly it would probably feed your hair or maybe change the color of it. Still it was good she did not mention the burning of crops or setting things on fire. She thought about that a lot and worried that it might slip out. Though she was not suppose to mention fire at all, but it seems the flames still came up. All it needed was a little air and it blazed right into the conversation. It was a good thing Bee knew how to contain and control it. Instead of being banished to the woods for the night she was now helping out at the far. All she needed to do was cook and pick eggs. Both of those task were easy. Bee knew how to cook. It was the primary skill she used for the past few years and picking up eggs was as simple as it sounded. All she really had to do was avoid stepping on any chickens or smashing any eggs. Also she needed to keep her belongings from being messed with. She did not want them to find her tome. Farmers were always superstitious when it came to magic.
"Hello I am Bee", shouted the young girl as she found a woman that looked like a Jen! Thought this was not the right person. Instead it was the farmers wife. "You must be Jen right! Your pa told me to come to you for instructions. I was suppose to help with cooking or picking up eggs."
The aged woman practically blushed as she was confused for her daughter. Jen on the other hand did not take it kindly as the young girl just compared her to her mother. "Excuse me, but I am Jen", she spoke with a bit of attitude.
"Oh", spoke Bee with surprise. The other woman looked so much like a Jen. She was usually on the money with these kind of things. However it seemed as if she was off today. That was not good. "Well then can you direct me to were I need to be then", she spoke as she moved toward Jen. The maiden however was still in a foul mood and instead sent Bee to slop some hogs. Bee would rather be picking up eggs or cooking, but if she was told to feed some pigs then feeding pigs she would do.

Chop, Chop, Chop Aeos heard as he began his work on chopping the logs. He was swinging down on the logs with one hand for a bit, before he remembered most humans hold axes with two hands in order to chop wood. He quickly rectified that and began chopping the logs using both his hands. He was doing fine for a bit until he noticed he was swinging with such force that the large stump the logs were resting on, split in two. Apparently Aeos didn't have a full grasp on his draconian strength then he thought he did. Uh.. oops.
He quietly picked up the half logs around him and added them to the pile of other split logs. Then returned back to the stump. Fortunately the break did not appear to be too large.
"Mayhaps they will not notice."
He moved over to another angle of the stump and continued to chop logs. He eased back on his strength and soon found himself with a the axe lodged half way into one of the logs. He did another light tap with the axe and it split cleanly in two. Hmm.. but I limit it too much the logs do not split in one swing. He continued to chop more wood, in order to find a nice even balance in his strength. By the time he found it all of the pre cut logs were chopped. Oh. I finished them? Once again he picked up the logs and arranged them neatly on the pile. The dragon seemed to barely have broken a sweat. He wiped his brow anyway, to make it seem like he was tired. He had no idea who could be watching.
Then got to work trimming the thick branches and turning them into new logs. He found this task to be a bit more difficult. These branches were a bit more lively then there loggy cousins. They still had some sap to them which made everything sticky. It showed the dragon down a bit, he did not like being sticky. But still he persisted. And eventually got them chopped up into suitable logs and arranged them neatly in a pile. He wasn't quite sure how much time had passed since he started cutting logs until he finished, and wondered if it would be odd to have finished so soon. He grabbed his things and made his way over to Jim and John.

Pigs, well Bee found something she now hated more than Bees. She disliked Bees because they both shared the same name. She disliked Pigs because they are completely filthy. They stuck, waddled in their own poop, and axe whatever it was she was pouring into their feeding troth. At the moment the only thing going through Bee mind was simply cleaning this place out with fire. Fire burns everything and leaves only ash. That ash would smell a thousand times better than these pigs did. The only thing she could say about these pigs that she liked was how there fat burned like sun. If you took lunk of pig fat and put it inside a barrel and then set it on fire, oh boy. The flames would heat up and dance all around you. Now to mention bacon tasted great. Though Bee was probably going to abstain from bacon for a while. Nothing personal to the tasty delicious food of breakfast, but she did not want to see or touch anything of a pigs for a while.
"The pigs have been slopped", spoke Bee. However her hard task master seemed to have a another chore for her. Where Bee was expecting to see the warm dancing flames of a bakery stove she instead was placed upon the cold hard and smelly earth. May Jen burn in a thousand fires cursed Bee in the back of her mind as she picked pees and put them into a sack. For some reason that woman had something against her. Bee had no idea why she was so mad. The thought that she compared her to her mother never crossed Bee's mind. To the girl that was a simple mistake and embarrassment on her not a insult toward Jen. From Bee's perspective the woman was just sadistic. She knew Bee was assigned to more easier work so instead she assigned her to the rougher stuff just for her personal amusement.
"One little, two little, three little peas, four little, five little, six little peas", song Bee as she tried to make the work pass by faster. It was so frustrating. She wanted to just simply set these plants on fire and call it a day. Bee was not a far girl, she was a city girl or a desert girl. Picking Peas and slopping hogs was not her things. She was the type of person who depended on the land to eat or at least used coin to pay for a meal. As long as Bee lived she swore she would never own a farm. Way to much hard labor and not enough burning. It seemed like going into blacksmithing was the right idea after all. Sure blacksmithing was hard, but at the very least you get to enjoy the sparks. Sparks were so beautiful.

Jim and John were twins, judging from the identical looks both had. Tall young men, Aeos guessed the pair were about 16 or 17 years old. They both had bowl cut black hair, and brown eyes. The same eyes as Joe.
"Pardon me. But thy father sent me to aid with the well."
Both Jim and John looked at one another for a moment. Not quite sure what to make of this new comer. Both of them talked among themselves in a bit of a hushed whispher. But Aeos could hear them upon the wind's breath. They were looking for a way to have the dragon do the work for the well while they ran off to do something fun in town. Aeos frowned a bit, he did not like the idea of these two boys ditching him with all the work. So he decided to speak up.
"Oy! Thou better not be thinking of leaving me here. I'll not allow it."
Both boys looked at one another again. With a bit of a surprised look on their face.
"Hoo boy, how'd ya hear us from over there? Ya got some sort of special ears stranger?" One boy asked.
"Nay. My ears be regular. But I wast a young boy like thee once. Similar thoughts."
One boy handed Aeos a muddy shovel.
"Heh Pa was right you gots a funny speech. I'm Jim and this my brother John. Alright then. Lets get a diggin."
Aeos nodded and jumped in the pit with the two boys and began to dig away at the soft dirt. He was curious to find out how people found wells. Back home it was there mother who had an affinity for water, she knew where all of the fresh water springs were when they traveled along the mountain paths.
"How doth one know where to dig for water?" He asked as they dug.
"Divinin rod an pigs. Rod's point us, but pigs dig at water holes." Spoke Jim.
"But sometimes they get confused and we find truffles instead." John finished. Aeos blinked.
"What be a truffle?"
"Truffles, are mushrooms. They don't like light so they grow underground." Spoke Jim.
"There rare too. Usually when we find em, we sell em. Sometimes we turn em into oil and sell that. Rich folk go crazy for truffles. Last truffle we found, a merchant gave pa so much gold we were able to buy more land for farmin." John spoke.
"It's more work, but we don't go hungry. But looks like this hole's got nothin but worms and dirt."
The three entertained themselves with conversation. At a certain point the boys and Aeos crawled out of the pit. They would beed to dig deeper, but there was the issue of digging too deep that they wouldn't be able to climb out. So they devised a plan. They had several ropes tied to a sturdy tree. Each rope was tied to a bucket. One of them would have to stand up outside the hole and haul up the buckets of dirt. The ropes could also be used to climb out if things got dicey. It was agreed that each man would take turns hauling up the filled buckets of dirt. Aeos was the first to haul up the buckets of shoveled dirt. The boys were quick with the filling, but Aeos managed to keep up. Fortunately the two managed to dig up water, and climb on up.
"Alright then Aeos, we gotta call Pa over and make sure we can use this water. If we can, then we gotta start puttin in wood and brick to support the walls. Yer free to go. Get yerself cleaned up." Aeos nodded.
"Twas a pleasure swapping stories with thee." Before he walked off. He estimated that it was around two or three in the day judging by how the sun was positioned in the sky. He headed over to the back of the house where Joe had mentioned the water barrel. His pants, sandals, and shirt were covered in mud and sap. He helped himself to a bucket of water to wash off his hands and took a drink. The water was nice cool and refreshing. He saw Bee over in a corner shelling peas. He approached.
"Oi Bee, how goes it? Doth thou need a hand with the peas?"

"Aeos", spoke Bee with both surprise and glee. It was good to see a kind face in these times. Especially when that kind face shared the same heritage you did. Though Bee wondered if the fact that she was from nabata had anything to do with her work assignment suddenly being changed. Still it was not time to think on grudges or reason for grudges. She still had more work to do. If she did not work she did not eat and bing hungry would couple up with being cold and in a dark forest. At the very least Aeos was offering a hand. He was a nice guy, unlike many she had meet on her journey. He not only made her feel better about her name, but he offered help and advice. She wished more people were like him.
"Yeah I could use an extra hand", spoke spoke as she worked with the peas. "I have been reassigned all day. First I had to slop the hogs and then I was moved to this job. I swear I will never eat bacon again for the next few days. Anyway how has your day been. How was the wood chopping or did they make you switch jobs as well. Did you milk cows or simply put in windows and new boards."
It was not that late, which was a bad sign. She had at the very least three more hours left of work. Why was the sun being so cruel to her. Could it just lower quicker or something. Still Bee was nearly done. With Aeos help she could probably finish up lickity split, but May or Meh, Bee could not remember at the moment, would probably reassign her to someplace else. Farm work was hard work, and people say blacksmithing was a tough job. Bee had hit the anvil a few times as a kid and it was not that rough. Well she only hit it ten times before her mother took over. You have to wonder how many times has her mother smacked the iron with her hammer. Her arms were really big now that she though back onto it.
"So Aeos how is your mother", she asked out of the blue. "I was just thinking of mine and the forge she use to run. I was wondering if forge smithing is a normal trait for women in our homeland. Did your mother work the forge or was she some kind of salt salesmen. I heard salt was a high commodity."

Aeos took a seat infront of Bee and began shelling peas. He pinched the top end of the peas and pushed down until each seed fell out into the bag. He hear Bee speak about her troubles and that brought a frown upon his face. It seems that she was not doing the jobs Joe had asked of her and instead had been delegated to doing other tasks.
"Ave not been reassigned. I chopped the woods and dug in the well." He pointed to the sorry state of his pants and boots. I may have broken the chopping stump." He shrugged lightly and continued to shell peas. Picking out the broken and rotten ones from out of his pile.
"Learned about truffles. And Jim and John are twins." He was talking a little slowly trying to put thought into construct of his words. He continued talking about all the little things he had learned off of Jim and John.
"Last job methinks wast repairs?" He spoke that last bit with hesitation. He had forgotten what his last task was. The peas were almost all shelled.
"Tis not fair that you Bee reassigned. You thou were.. you are a good help in the kitchen no? To be honest I was looking forward to thy cooking. Mayhaps, I can speak to Jen? While thou slink off to aid with Nan in the kitchen. Fire seems to make thee happy." He paused for a moment while Bee asked about his mother. And about his life in Nabata.
"My mother be well. My father too. When I left Nabata both were healthy. I recall mother fetching sea foam in buckets and she would boil it until there wast nothing but salt. But if thou meant if we sold it? We did not. We only harvested what we needed. Then moved on. Mother would idle her time making jewelry from beads or spin decorative cloth. Father would sometimes sell that." The peas were all shelled.
He tied the sack closed once things were finished. Then carefully picked it up.
"Did they want these anywhere?"

"Over there", spoke Bee as she pointed to were the other stored vegetables were. Somebody was suppose to come by later and put them up some place, but at the moment it was not Bee's job. With this one complete she had finished the mini list she was assigned to. So now she was suppose to report back and get new orders. Instead Bee took the opportunity to head to the kitchen. She really liked fire and cooking far better than the other jobs. She was sure mean Jen probably figured that she would have not finished the jobs by then. Well shows her. Bee may not be use to farm life, but she was a good worker. She could finish as job licketedy split. It was all aobut creating a rhythm for every action and following that rhythm till your work was done. If you applied that to everything you did you would finish before everyone else. Most people just complain and work. Then they get tired or dejected. That usaully slwoed down there works speed or caused them to take breaks that makes them move slower. It was all about mental fortitude and Bee had plenty of it, despite the fact that her head leaps all the way around the universe when she is talking. It was a side effect of a experiment probably, or maybe just a simple personality disorder. Bee really did not care or knew. It did not bother her that many subjects came up at once. Each subject was connected to the original by some thread anyway. It was not like she was just jumping around at random.
"Excuse me", spoke Bee as she walked into the kitchen. The maiden was looking forward to working with fire. She really loved the color of it and the warmth it made. However to her great despair she was meet with a familiar and dreaded face. Next to the lady of the household was Jen. The expression on the young lady's face was surprise as she saw Bee already in the house.
"You finished the work", she spoke looking the young girl up and down. Bee only responded with a nod as she did not want to speak to the vile woman who makes her slop pigs. "Well then you can go fix up the windows in the Barn. If I remember correctly my father said you had some skill at putting in windows and fixing glass. Well unless you lied of course."
"Um, yes I do", spoke Bee dejected as she prepared to walk back out the door. Once again she was thwarted by Jen. However the maiden of the household had different plans.
"Putting in and fixing windows", spoke the mother with shock. "That is not the job of a lady", she spoke with a just tone. Her eyes showed a firm sense of feminine duty as she told Bee to stop in her tracks. "No young lady should be putting in windows. That is a man's job. Now young girl you come in here and help me in the kitchen."
"Really", spoke Bee as her eyes lit up like stars. She had finally gotten her lucky brake.
"Wait mother", spoke Jen, but the older woman cut her off.
"No buts", she spoke as she turned toward her daughter. "Just because she is working for a place to sleep does not mean she is not a lady. Now how would you feel if I made you slop hogs and put in windows. Those are jobs for boys and men. That kind of work would ruin you skin and leave a bad smell in your hair. Then how are you going to get a husband. No she will work in the kitchen and that is the last word on that subject. IF you feel so strongly about the windows you can put them in yourself", spoke the mother ending the conversation.
The entire time Bee sat there silently as she recalled all the jobs that she had done. None of them seemed that brutal and to be truthful blacksmithing was worst than any of them. Though she did not mention that to the woman. She was just happy to work in the kitchen. "Right I will wash my hands", spoke the maiden as she rushed off.

The dragon put the sack of pea aside where instructed and followed Bee inside. He observed the two women in the kitchen. One he assumed the older one was Nan and the younger one was Jen. The current task master of his three letter named friend. He heard Bee speak that her chore was done, and was going to give her another task to do. But before Aeos could interject with his opinion the older woman spoke up. She scolded the younger one about the tasks a lady should do.
"Ah, well spoken Ma'am. Ah.. well there be my next task. I shall tend to the windows." He patted Bee on the shoulder, before heading off to the barn to fix windows.
He made his way out towards the barn and went inside. It appeared that some prep work was done to fix the window. There was some pre cut planks of wood, a hammer, and a metal cup full of nails. Aeos gently put his stuff on a nearby hay bale and got to work. The scent in the barn was unpleasant but bearable.
He whistled a tune as he worked. He carefully nailed the boards of the window frame back to it's proper place. He then hammered in the boards to form a window's familiar cross shape. Then he went to work on the other window. He kept working until each of the barn's four lower windows were fixed.
He wiped the sweat off of his forehead. The barn was quite warm compared to the outside. Most likely due to the cattle and the manure they made. By the end of it all he was a hot, sticky, and muddy mess. Hmm. Perhaps I can ask for a wash bucket and some water later. He looked up at the sky for a moment and saw that the sun was starting to set.
He made his way back to the main house where most of the family was starting to gather. The scent of food filled the air. He stayed outside for a moment before Joe ran into him.
"Oy Aeh-os. Whatcyea doin standing outside fer?"
"Oh.. it is that I am quite fithly. I do.. not wish to track mud upon thy floor. Twould be improper. If thou wouldst allow me acess to a washtub so that I may clean up?"
"Ah, well you can wash up with the water in the barrel out back. The well water ya help dig out is usable so we gots some to spare."
Aeos nodded and went out back. He still felt guilty about using drinkable water to wash himself. He would rather have taken a dip in the nearby lake or stream. He separated out a bucket of water to wash himself up. He rinsed off the mud and gunk from his pants and boots then threw whatever water was left in the bucket onto his head for everything else. A cool breeze blew by and Aeos took a moment to read it. The night weather would be much like how it was during the day, nice. He rang out the excess water from his hair and pants before making his way back in. He managed to find a small place by the fire in order to dry off.

Following in her name sake Bee began to buzz around the kitchen. She would mix that and season this. Her skill with seasons and spices was far beyond her youth. It was a hand of somebody who had spent a considerable amount of time thinking and studying in the way of the spice, a skill Bee had to give to her old master. He always liked good food and as a result he made Bee cook it. He never took mediocre as a standard. Everything must be excellent. As much as Bee did not like him she still liked cooking. It was like the alchemy of old. A little bit of this and some heat here then the perfect potion, or in this place dish, was complete. Though the young maiden was skilled with seasonings and the handling of meat she was more skilled with the fire that cooked them. Bee had a keen eye for flames, she had been staring into them for quite some time. She could tell when the tempeture was just right or when the fire got a little too hot. She could adjust it just enough to put things as they should be and avoid over cooking. This skilled proved invaluable in the kitchen as Bee helped prepare a feast for the hard working men of the far.
"You seem quite skill with controlling the fire", spoke the mother as Bee pulled a pan of delicious bisects out the oven. Most of the other dishes had already been cooked, that included the great fish that was caught and served as the main dish. However Bee opted to cook the bisects last as there was no greater dish on a table then warm biscuits.
"Well I have been cooking for quite some time", spoke Bee. The maiden kept out the part about her misadventures in fire. It would be weird and awkward for her to tell the lady that she use to stare into blacksmith's forges and burn things at random in her camp fire. Some secrets are best left unknown. "My mother use to always tell me to keep a eye on the fire. You can tell how hot or how cold it is depending on the color coming from the flame. She would often compare cooking to blacksmithing. Each one would require a keen eye and a knowledge of your task. One mistake and both the iron or the dish can be ruined."
"Oh so your father was a blacksmith", spoke the mother. She had assumed that Bee's mother gained her knowledge of the craft from her husband than rather to it herself. She was a traditionalist, which Bee was glad to hear as it got her out of putting in windows and instead into cooking with fire. However this limited the woman's view, thought it was not far. She just assumed that the stereotypical man job was done by the stereotypical man.
"Umm, yeah", spoke Bee just simply going along with the woman. She did not have the time nor the desire to correct her. The biscuits were her prime priority at the moment. They still needed to be buttered.

Aeos watched as the dinner was starting to come together. He took note of the main dish, a large fish. Freshwater fish he assumed as there was no sea nearby. Aeos was curious for a bite. He was mostly accustomed to eating saltwater fish given his upbringing and time spent at sea. He wondered what sort of taste a freshwater fish would have. From what he heard from the sailors freshwater fish were sweeter then saltwater fish but still retained a fishy taste.
There were also loads of other little goodies such as carrots, potatoes, and corn. All harvested from the farm. Aeos liked corn. he recalled grinding the dried kernels of the stuff into a fine powder, then used that to cook little cakes for the sailor's crew. He would mix dried berries and a tiny bit of honey to give it flavor. Those little corn cakes would keep the crew full for a while with little cost to the rations. And they held up pretty well at sea.
His stomach growled lightly at the sights and smells of the kitchen. He told himself to keep patience his plate would be served soon. His clothes were starting to dry up.
From the corner of his eye he could see a child step out into the porch with a old bell. The child looked back over to the woman in the kitchen, as if waiting in for a signal. Aeos assumed the woman was the grandmother of the young child. Once the bisuits finished cooking and hit the table the grandmother nodded to the child. The child with glee began ringing the bell so all the farm could hear. The "dinner bell" rang for about a minute or so. Those that were still outside finishing up any last minute work started to come in. Slowly everyone was taking their place inside the home. Plates, cups, and bowls were soon filled and dispersed to the family and guests.

Like her name sake Bee buzzed around the kitchen. A pinch of that and a bit of this. The fire was tamed, controlled, and blazing all at once. Time was watched and rolls were rolled. Bee began to make wonders with pots, pans, and the tools designed for cooking. With the buttering of the biscuits and everything else finished the dinner bell was rung and everything went to work. Bee had retreated to the back for a moment to wash her hands. "Clean hands happy stomach", spoke Bee as she walked back in with a grin on her face. The maiden was happy to control the fire and help out at some of her best skills. Still the day was exhausting. Bee never wanted to work like this again. She preferred the life of a simple traveler who made coin by showing off her magic for small children. It was so much easier. she did not have to slop hogs or pick pees.
"Well this was a enlightening experiences", spoke Bee as she finally took notice of the young child. She had missed the young missy before. Mainly due to her not being on fire or needed to be on fire. Or to be correct needed to be heated by fire. Work had a tendency to make you overlook the small things. Still there were a lot of people on this farm. Bee had not realized it before because she only meet the farmer. However when everybody started to come in the numbers started to shoot up. Why would you need that many children, Bee thought to herself. She knew better than to engage her bad habit of talking to herself at this moment. The guys who she needed to spend the night with might take offense. Still big families were weird to her. In her village people had one maybe two children. However this farmer seemed to have many. Maybe it was a cultural thing or it had something to do with the amount of work on the farm. It was probably both combined, but this many people calling two people ma and paw seemed weird to her.
It was in this moment that Bee began to wonder what was the educate for eating. Sure Bee and Aeos had pulled there weight. However that did not mean they could eat first. Maybe there was a high achy in how they fix plates or maybe they were suppose to simply did in. Bee had no idea. One wrong step and she could be sleeping in the forest. Rather than risk it Bee simply sat around and decided to wait till she was spoken too. Nothing says eat than being told to by the head of the house. So far she figured she was on the good side of the mother. Not only did she get her out of the windows, but she complemented Bee's skills with cooking.

Aeos's plate was filled and he was given permission to eat. Everything was very good especially the biscuits they seemed to have been gobbled by the family pretty quickly. They were very tasty and complimented the fish and vegetables well. The dragon enjoyed his bit of freshwater fish it was quite different then the saltwater fish he was accustomed too.
People asked for his story and he responded in kind. This time a bit slowly since his mouth was full of food. He swallowed what he had in his mouth and began speaking. He spoke slowly and did his best not to use his traditional funny speech. The dragon in human form spoke about how he came from Nabatata the desert land and traveled across the sea on ship before arriving here.
This managed to gain the attention of the little ones who had never seen the ocean in person but only heard over glorified tales of the sea from their elders. Aeos did his best to assure them that there were no sea monsters and if there were the merchant ship he was on did not run into any monsters.
"T..To be honest the trip was with out incident. At most.. we had a few bouts of rain."
Joe quickly told the children to leave him alone so that he could eat in piece.
"Thou truly are blessed with a large family Joe." Aeos did his best to try to change the subject. He was not quite accustomed to being the center of attention so quickly by a bunch of little kids.
"And the.. sus..no the food tis divine." He spoke with a bit of a smile and kept munching.
